Unusual for a hotel in Germany is the level of incompetence and disinterest in helping guests that the employees of this hotel showed. But even worse than that (and it takes a lot to beat a €17 breakfast that wasn't even worth €5) was the situation with the room temperature. We were there for a three-day weekend that was unseasonably warm. The window of our small room looked out onto the very loud main street, so keeping it open all night was not an option (though we tried, and at 4 am when it began to get quieter, Frankfurt airport starting receiving the morning's first planes; of course this hotel is right under the path of the incoming airplanes - definitely not an option). When we asked at the desk about turning on the air conditioning (the "air conditioner" turned on in the room, but only blew out warm air), we were met with a lot of resistance. Finally, we were told they would turn it on. But they never did. After another sleepless night and a highly unfruitful discussion with the desk personnel the next day we decided to forfeit our final night and go home (so we could finally sleep). The final nail in the coffin? As we sat in the lobby to wait for our friends, we heard the desk personnel lie to further people coming to ask about the air conditioner. "Leave one of the keys in the slot so you can leave the air conditioner on while you're out. It will get better," they were told. This bold-faced lie coming from a hotel that professed its "greenness" on every single sign. What an absolute crock! Oh, yeah, and guests only receive one single towel in the room to be used as both bath towel and hand towel. Needless to say, I will never ever stay here again and would suggest you don't either.
