Hotel Castello Lake Front

Hotel Castello is a little piece of heaven on earth. It is absolutely perfect. There is nothing that could be improved. The hotel is perfectly located on the lake front, under the castle and 2 minute walk into the town. The views are stunning. The food is wonderful . The breakfast is amazing . There is an extensive and delicious selection of hot and cold food ,sweet and savoury, with freshly cooked options. The view from the breakfast room is beautiful. The restaurant is fantastic, overlooking the lake. There is a wide choice of food and wine at excellent prices on the menu. Every dish is delicious , using local ingredients and perfectly presented. The rooms are perfect, spotless, very comfortable and all with beautiful lake views and some with a view of the castle also. I have never seen such a high standard of cleanliness in any hotel. However it is the people on the team there that make this hotel exceptional. Everyone from frondesk, breakfast, housekeeping, restaurant and bar staff is always warm, welcoming and work hard to make your stay perfect. A big shout out to Paul , Jamal and Rafaello for looking after us so well in the bar and restaurant. Family Treccani should be very proud of the hotel they have created. We are already looking forward to returning.

Absolutely fabulous hotel and staff are fantastic. Would 100% recommend. Fabulous views of the lake and castle from our Dolcevita room which had 2 balconies. Also this hotel make the best ugo’s in Malcesine a couple of minutes walk to the amazing restaurants on the lake front. We will be booking for next year.

To all the family & staff at Castello. Thank you for giving us the best honeymoon we could have ever wished for! From arrival to departure nothing was a problem. You treated us so well and we will be returning! I am certain the Castello Suites have the best views in Malcesine. Very short distance walk to the beautiful Lakeside, restaurants, spar, everything you need is close by. After eating many times in Al Bacio (the hotel restaurant) we understood why it is so highly rated in Malcesine, the views are breathtaking and the food was absolutely delicious, every time. We looked forward to getting up for the most amazing breakfast every morning. Followed by a stroll along the lakeside. From the moment we arrived at the wonderfully located Castello Hotel we were welcomed with a smile and made to feel we were valued as a guest. The rooms were very well equiped and spotlessly cleaned daily. The breakfast was fantastic with lots of fresh produce. A dream hotel in a dream location.

This was our third holiday at Hotel Castello Lakefront and I have to say, each one surpasses the last. The Treccani family are not ones to rest on their laurels. It’s apparent that they are constantly striving to uphold their reputation as premier hoteliers whilst introducing fresh and innovative ideas to enhance the guest experience to another level. One couldn’t hope for better hospitality, from Marisa on check-in, to the exceptional service from Paul and team in the Al Bacio terrace restaurant and the ladies in the breakfast room, not forgetting the lovely chambermaids who looked after our rooms, everyone is extremely professional, friendly and helpful, led by Marco and Matteo Treccani. It was good to see Signor Treccani Snr. again too. I have never come across a hotel with such exceptional standards of cleanliness as Hotel Castello. Everything is just perfect. We chose to stay in a Junior Living Suite this time which is in a block opposite the main building, and Wow! The design of the rooms has been so well thought out and the views across Lake Garda from our balcony were just amazing. I absolutely loved the fact that there was ample hanging space for our clothes (I have yet to master the art of travelling light!), with good quality wooden hangers. The room has plenty of surfaces for personal and toiletry items with a dedicated worktop and sink to prepare your own morning tea or coffee and a microwave at your disposal. Being typically English we brought a travel kettle with us, however, on the lower floor is a drinks machine for making tea and coffee, and here also is a filtered water dispenser and glass bottles to take to your suite. The bathroom is spacious and light with a walk-in waterfall shower (with the addition of an hand-held “wand”) and plenty of room on the sink surround for your toiletries. Fluffy bathrobes and flip-flops are supplied as well as complementary toiletry items. Towels were changed every couple of days as was our bedding. The large, comfortable bed is made up of two smaller ones put together and topped by two single duvets, which means less chance of waking your partner if you need to move around at night. The light from the panoramic window can be completely blocked out for sleep by closing the heavy curtains. Food served in the Al Bacio restaurant at lunchtime and evening is of a very high standard and we were recommended some beautiful wines from the region to pair with the dishes we chose. As for breakfast, I cannot think of a more comprehensive offering anywhere, all delightfully set out for self service. A “full English” hot selection, cheeses, charcuterie, eggs, fruit, yogurt, cakes, and wonderful breads. Should you wish to order cooked eggs or an omelette, a delightful lady will make them to order and bring to your table. There is even a juicer for making fruit or vegetable smoothies and on the cereal counter there is every kind of nut, seed, and dried fruit as well as a real honeycomb, so no excuse for not e

Had a fantastic 3 nights at this hotel. Staff were extremely friendly, beds were comfortable and everywhere was very clean. Great location right on the lake with amazing views from the restaurant. We had dinner there our first night and the waiters were great and the food was very special. The selection at breakfast was fantastic, with pancakes/waffles etc cooked fresh and a small selection of cooked items. The rooms were modern but the shower could do with some updating- still powerful and clean enough though. We used the jacuzzi which is free and a nice to warm up in after swimming in the lake. Up a short but steep hill to get to the town (which is gorgeous) so maybe not ideal for anyone with mobility issues. Would absolutely love to stay again.

Home after a lovely week at Castello. This is our second time after staying in a hot tub living suite last year. This time we opted for a more budget friendly Smart room. Although not on the same scale (but about 200e cheaper a night) we loved the terrace with direct access to the lovely garden with sun loungers, big comfy bed, double shower, great air con and housekeeping. These rooms are a great option if you do not want to splash out. We loved the sun bathing garden which has direct access to the lake and plenty of loungers. There is also an indoor hot tub that all guests can use. We thought this was a lovely touch, although it is rather heavily chlorinated which hopefully the hotel can rectify (eyes and throat stinging). Breakfast is amazing with so much choice and available until 10:30 if you want a lie in. Location of hotel is perfect - away from the crowds, right on the lake for swimming with paddle boards etc for guests which we enjoyed taking out.

This was our fifth visit to this gem of a hote, nestling at the side of the Lake Garda , below the castle in Malcesine . Our room was clean - with a great view over the lake, the food was excellently cooked as always The breakfast buffet is amazing. Well done to the Treccani family who keep on improving this hotel year on year . Great to see some of the younger members getting involved in providing service ! There is nowhere on Lake Garda that I dislike, but in our view Malcesine is the Queen of resorts with Monte Baldo and the Lungo Lago lake walk being highlights. It is well connected by ferries to all points on the lake too for those wishing to venture further afield

We have recently returned from our seventh visit to this fantastic hotel. Everything about the hotel is perfect. Its position right on the lake front and at the base of the castle with mountains all around is stunning and we never tire of the views. It is also only a few minutes walk to the medieval town of Malcesine with its quaint, narrow, cobbled streets and harbour from where you can board the ferry to other resorts on the lake. All the staff are hardworking, efficient, friendly and willing to help with any issue that may occur. The hotel is spotlessly clean and is constantly being upgraded. The breakfast are simply wonderful and include fresh fruit, juices, hams, cheeses, smoked salmon, salad items, cereals, assorted breads, homemade cakes and even honeycomb, chocolate fountain and prosecco. There is also a juicer with fresh fruit and vegetables to make your own smoothy and a lovely lady who will make fresh omelettes, pancakes and eggs to order and bring them to your table. The beautiful hotel restaurant, Al Bacio, which is also open to non residents, serves delicious local food, perfectly presented and served impeccably by Paul and the team. We stayed for two weeks and did not want to leave. We are missing Hotel Castello so much and cannot wait to return. Thank you for making us so welcome. Hopefully see you next year.
