I like how the room and location is. Nonetheless, the concierge/reception area that checks you in will determine the 1st impression. The staffs at the front desk aren’t that friendly and they do give me an attitude (in a bad way). It was until the next morning , when I was checking out that I felt that the front desk manager was really very helpful and warm with customers. It’s a shame that the first impression is not what I’ve expected. The breakfast spread is comprehensive. Atmosphere is also set to be English. I like the cultural aspect. Room is comfortable. I’ll definitely stay there again but less the unfriendly staff at the front desk.

Service was poor. Room was too hot. Had to change. No trolley provided. Hospitality was disorganised and unprofessional. It seems staff at this hotel are unaware how to look after paying guests and have little interest in comfort or service for families and wedding groups. Booking system was disorganised and arranging connecting rooms was impossible for our group, including small children. This hotel needs to make big improvements to achieve some real hospitality and care for its guests.

We stayed in Manchester for the weekend and The Midland was in a perfect spot for exploring the city. Both nights we stayed at the Midland there were wedding parties being hosted there, unfortunately this led to not having the best sleep as there was regularly noise coming from other rooms, but when we called reception they did their best to help. In the morning the staff were extremely apologetic and went above and beyond to make it up to us and said they usually are able to keep the bigger parties staying in the same area so this does not happen. Lovely hotel, lovely staff, great location!

Fantastic hotel in the centre of Manchester, very clean, gorgeous room, delicious breakfast and the staff are lovely couldn’t ask for anything else. We will definitely be staying again.

Brilliant hotel in the perfect location for seeing Manchester

the hotel lobby is beautiful however the rooms are dated, bathrooms are dated. you only get 1 hour or the spa facilities during your whole stay.

Good location! Very good service, breakfast was great, but not impressed with the room cleanliness, the carpet hasn’t been vacuumed on arrival, walls near the window and curtains were dirty, bath drain plug broken, toilet floor has been vacuumed also.

Room and bed amazing, bath OK.... tap in bathroom fell off .... would have liked more toiletries and a robe n slippers for the price of a nights stay. Wish I'd been warned about booking a pool slot , was really looking forward to a swim after such a long trip and didn't get one ..... as all booked up ..... I would also warn other people the pool is closed 6pm ish .... so no quiet late night swims .... staff were lovely bed was super comfy 😴

Really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were so welcoming. The breakfast was so good and will definitely stay here again.
