Victoria Beachcomber Resort & Spa

This was our second time visiting Victoria for 2, and we’re already trying to find ways to bring more people for another trip. The staff is amazing, the facilities are well-kept and cleaned every day. Between the restaurants and buffet, there’s not much you can’t find to eat, and it’s always good. We even went on a catamaran - saw Dolphins and Turtles first time out. Try and save for the full board package though. It really adds that final layer of 100% relaxation when you don’t have to worry about money. I can’t imagine there is better value for money on the island.

From the moment we arrived at Victoria Beachcomber we were made to feel welcome, and nothing ever seemed to be any trouble. We were met at the entrance to the hotel by Selva. We were shattered after almost 24 hours travel door to door (Cardiff to Mauritius) on an overnight flight with virtually no sleep. We arrived at about 9am. Check-in was 3pm, but the all-inclusive package starts when you arrive at the hotel and ends when you leave. Our room wasn't ready at 9am, but Selva showed us to the restaurant, and while we had breakfast he organised a temporary room for us where we could shower and sleep. This meant so much to us at the time as we were exhausted. After resting up we had lunch and then our room was ready for us. The whole holiday was wonderful and everyone we met in Mauritius was so friendly. My wife came back from the spa as if she was floating after the most relaxing facial and massage from Annick and all the staff there were really helpful and friendly. Everywhere was kept so clean. Our room was cleaned everyday, with a turndown service every evening with fresh towels. Feroz, our 'roomboy', made sure that, when we returned to our room after a day out, it felt like we were walking into the room for the first time and, of course, the minibar was restocked as well. As well as the buffet restaurant, there are three other restaurants at the hotel. We didn't try the steakhouse because it was adults only and we were travelling as a family, but L'Horizon (fish) and La Casa (Italian) made for a good variation for evening mealtimes. The food was delicious at both restaurants and the staff (especially Vik, Darsan and Ramloll at La Casa) made you feel very special. My daughter loved the Kids Club and made great friends there. The kids all loved the Kids Club staff and they were all so friendly whenever we saw them around the hotel. There was music and/or dance entertainment on every evening, with a disco afterwards, finishing at 11pm. Bhavish and Digant looked after us with a plentiful supply of drinks from the bar, and the disco was the perfect end to my daughter's day with us having to drag her off the dancefloor to bed most nights! As much as we want to explore more of the world, we might just go back to Mauritius again next year instead!!!

When we arrived at the hotel for our 2 week stay we were greeted with a very friendly welcome, they even remembered us from our last visit which was nice. Our room was fantastic being situated on the top floor of Victoria for 2 the adults only part of the accommodation. We had requested a room on this floor and were kindly provided with one. We were told we had one of the best rooms in the hotel which I would not disagree with. The views of the sunsets were amazing and we felt very fortunate. We were also very impressed by the manner in which our room kept so spotlessly clean by Jerry. We had decided in advance that we would visit the spa and so took a package and both enjoyed two extremely relaxing massages. Big thanks to Premila and Suraj, amazing. We ate at all four restaurants but most often at Morris Beef where we were made to feel as though it was our local thanks to the professionalism of Rak and Rakesh the managers. Nothing was too much trouble even making sure there were a few bananas on our table each morning before we arrived. That's what I call service! Brayen and Lea always remembered what we liked and Jagdish on the pool bar not only made the most memorable cocktails but also a good bedtime hot chocolate too! The location is very good for snorkling which we did a lot of and it’s even better if you take the snorkling boat to outside the reef. In a review it's sometimes difficult to write down all the things that you think you might write when you are still at the hotel but honestly, it's all the little things they do that go to make up a most memorable experience which are too numerous to mention. All the staff are so helpful and willing to ensure you have a great time, we felt very indulged the whole time we were there. See you again sometime!

Another amazing holiday with Beachcomber! Victoria hotel is beautiful, the coastline and beach not at all cramped. Great for a stroll. We were a group of 10, grandparents, parents, teenagers & children and there was always something for each group to do. Our room was kept perfectly clean by Pargass. Food wise, the omelettes, pancakes & curries were a favorite. The catering staff were so friendly & accommodating. We all feel like extremely spoiled at the end of each day! We already look forward to another Mauritius experience.

Bhavish at the rest of the team were great for the duration of our stay. The service at the bar was excellent. The food even as a buffet was amazing and the range of activities extensive. Do recommend they fix the pool table though! Recommend to everyone visiting Mauritius.
