Ok so it’s winter in Mauritius, that means tropical winter, bring trousers for the evening, it can get a little chilly, when the sun comes out it’s hot, when it’s cloudy it’s really warm, when it’s windy the kite surfers are having a ball, we managed plenty of snorkelling, the sea is warm enough and when calm you can see plenty of aquatic life the coral is directly off the sand, if you go further out there are large reefs, plenty to see down there. Bring towel pegs, bring drink cups with a straw you can help yourself to drinks, especially if at the peaceful pool best on a hot day as this one isn’t heated. No kids allowed in the swim up bar isnt quite how it goes as the pool is heated so be prepared to have pool water in your delicious cocktails as they are just flying all over the place while the parents sit at the bar! Plenty of pool entertainment but the animation team aren’t pushy which is great! Restaurant is fantastic the food is delicious and varied, vegetarian options are delicious, the labelling isn’t on point so you will need to use common sense. No sign of the dreaded “food poisoning” I ate everything and had no issues at all, the prawns are to die for! Special thanks to Susy, Isaac & Bibi who are fantastic servers and work really hard! A lot of the staff here are new and are still learning but say hello and the personality’s will shine. The rooms are great, comfy beds, lots of hangers, extra pillows and blankets, iron & board, hairdryer, kettle and full fridge of cold drinks, cleaned thoroughly every day. Honestly the hotel is beautifully designed and the staff are kind and helpful, I'm happy to recommend to anyone. The island is so interesting to visit as well, you can buy reasonably priced trinkets on the beach from a little store set up daily. We have had an amazing stay. Thank you to everyone at RIU Turquoise.
