It’s very good, but enough issues to knock a star off. Lots of good things - very clean, modern room. Great shower. Good lighting. Comfortable bed. Fabulous breakfast, with omelettes to order. Every sort of milk you could imagine (though except, oddly, we couldn’t find fresh - the one we thought was it was UHT!). Great gym on 14 floor. Internet lightning fast. The staff were friendly and gave you full attention when you were with them. Issues. Short staffed. On checkout, for example, only two staff, one of whom was on the phone … then the other could not get round an issue for a couple checking online, so had to be helped by the first. When a place is this swish, check in and out should be fast and slick. It wasn’t. Short staffed in the restaurant too: we’d booked a table but were ignored by the two staff who were covering the bar and the tables. A lot of tables and a long wait to be seated. Better training needed: at least greet and acknowledge the waiting guests. Restaurant food was ok. In the room: no access to the online hotel directory: reception didn’t really understand the problem and sent a spare remote up to us, then guessed maybe a software issue. No USB ports in the sockets, and none to loan (you could buy them apparently). (Tip: actually there there are two USB ports - on the back of the TV! They’re fiddly to reach but it can be done, and they charged a phone overnight).

When we turned up at the hotel at no fault of the hotel the holiday company we used did not change the dates of our hotel (from 26-29th to 27-30th) in line with our flights. This was quickly sorted by signing a form to confirm that this was the case. Then on our last night I was in the room by myself when a man that had just checked in had let himself into the room, he soon realised and walked straight back out. Shortly after I had a receptionist named Mustafa I have been told barge into the room demanding that I pack and leave right away as I should not be there. He threatened to ring the police if I did not leave right away. He did not want to listen to a word I said when I tried to explain to him the situation that I thought could have been the mix up, I rang my boyfriend to come straight up to the room. The tone and manner of this staff member was completely unacceptable. As soon as my boyfriend arrived his manner changed completely and became very polite. My partner went down to reception to try and sort things out to which he got shown the form we filled in on arrival with it forged, the date had been crossed out and edited which I’m assuming is to try and cover up the fact they were in the wrong. Never experienced anything like this anywhere I have travelled before. Definitely did not feel safe by myself as a woman. So disappointed after such a lovely holiday this completely changed the tone and ruined it 😢

While the hotel stay was comfortable and the rooms a nice and clean we found the front desk staff rude and unhelpful. From the start they have shown no courtesy, I called up the hotel from the station to inquire about the location and landmark and found the person speaking to me couldnt care less about giving directions. Then when we arrived there, there was no one at the front desk. Since there are two Holiday Inns adjacent to each other we were confused as to which one is ours and kept the cab waiting to check. Finally we had to let the cab go as not one was there to answer our query. After a long wait the lady manning the front desk finally emerged from the cabin and was very rude with us. She couldnt find our reservation, we had to panic call the booking.com customer service and incurred a huge mobile bill for the international call only so that we could confirm our booking. She insisted we had not paid for our rooms and we had to argue and show proof of payment. Any query we had about the hotel amenities or sightseeing were unhelpfully answered. The person who looks after the snacks corner was the only congenial and courteous person. The hotel is within walking distance of a train station and the bus stop is right outside the drive way, There are some good restaurants about 5- 7 minutes walk from the hotel. Lidl is a stones throw away so are a few other grocery stores. Once you get the hang of the place its pretty convenient. The only reason why the rating is average is because the hotel is good and the rooms were comfortable and neat. Otherwise only based on their customer service it would be poor.

We spent a weekend there in June 2023, Friday through Sunday. Location: right next to a shopping mall (Riem Arcaden) with supermarkets and food places among many others. Parking: shared parking with shopping mall, designated elevator to the hotel lobby. Parking fee 20 to 25 euros per night. Overall impression: clean, light, modern. Check in and check out: fast and polite. Room: average size, very clean, small bathroom. We paid 75 euros per night per room (two people) and for this rate everything was as good as or even better than expected. One issue: no door bolt / security latch! In total we give four and a half stars for the hotel. We would have given five stars if there had been a door bolt and some smiles from the front desk staff as we walked by. Restaurant: Evening service one star / breakfast service four stars. We wanted to have dinner at the restaurant. My son ordered a Schnitzel which was half the size it used to be before covid (we used to stay at this hotel 3 times a year up until 2020). He was still hungry afterwards. The Schnitzel cost 28 euros. I am coeliac and often encounter problems finding food in German restaurants. I spoke to a very friendly waiter about it who was trying to be helpful but failed miserably (not his fault). He had no idea what gluten-free meant and he wasn't fluent in German nor English. He went to the kitchen and came back with some information. Not good enough. Went back to the kitchen and came back with some more information. Still not entirely helpful. There was a side order of vegetables on the menue with a dish. I asked if I could just get a side order of plain vegetables. No, I couldn't. It was not a matter of pricing, the waiter just didn't understand what I wanted from him and kept running back to the kitchen to ask but there didn't seem anybody available to deal with my request. I decided not to eat and ordered just a small non-alcoholic wine. Got a large one instead (was only charged for a small one but they couldn't get this right either). To summarize: my son and I were the only people in the restaurant. One might wonder why. We tried to order four items in total: Schnitzel, coke, side order of veggies, non-alcoholic wine. They failed on two out of four. The restaurant really deserves zero stars from us, however, we feel one star should go to the waiter who really tried hard and remained friendly throughout! Breakfast service started out just as bad. Upon check in I had asked if they offered gluten-free options and I was told it would not be a problem. First, however, it was. The first check in lady (younger) I spoke to was in training but didn't get help from somebody experienced. She just pointed me to the two gluten-free items offered in the buffet area but couldn't not answer my questions as to whether any bread could be warmed up for me in the kitchen. Hear me out: this hotel has THE BEST - meaning most professional - service I have ever encountered in any hotel - and I say it from my experience from staying at 4-5 stars hotels as a general rule. Regarding service: - ALWAYS replying to every email (unfortunately letters sometimes land in a spam folder, a little flaw) - 24/7 there’s always someone at the reception ready to assist (mind it’s not a branded hotel, but a family-owned business), making sure that there aren’t any unsolved problems or unsatisfied needs - all website-provided informations are up to date - there’s a shuttle bus from a train station for guests (till 5pm) - staff is perfectly trained and experienced. There’s never any personal attitude, just a smile and clear communication. Of course speaking well English. - Bonus: I arrived quite before check-in hours and checked out a bit late too; didn’t have to say a word and no word was said (or called). Even got an advise how to efficiently manage my luggage for my next trip. Location: a bit far from train & metro stations. Amenities: a very big swimming pool! And a sauna, and a gym. Downside is that those amenities are in a neighbouring building, so if you’re still wearing your swimming suit, you need to walk on a pedestrian path for two minutes like this. It feels weird. But there are lockets, showers and fresh towels too, if you prefer to change your clothes first. Concluding: best combination of price, location, fun, and quality.

Allora... l'hotel lo abbiamo scelto per la possibilità bellisima e che non si trova ovunque di avere una cucina con tavolo all'interno della camera. Abbiamo prenotato una suite ma al prezzo di camere normali od appartamenti. L'hotel è facile da trovare il parcheggio privato dell'albergo si paga se non mi ricordo male 7 euro al giorno circa. Fuori dall'albergo c'è una strada dove si può parcheggiare ma noi abbiamo preferito pagare ed essere sicuri. La stanza non mi è piaciuta solo per lo stile che sembrava rimandare ad anni passati,,, ma voluto non perchè vecchio,, anzi. secondo me è stato ristrutturato da poco . I colori erano tenui e la stanza era davvero pulita. Dotata anche di un balcone spazioso e di un bagno purtoppo come quasi ovunque senza finestra. Si dorme benissimo, rumori zero... letti comodissimi , forse i cuscini troppo morbidi per i miei gusti. La parte cucina poco fornita ma comunque con le cose indispensabili , anche lavastoviglie con detersivo incluso ( una tavoletta per giorno) , microonde e macchina del caffè con 3 cialde gratuite al giorno, Una bottiglia di acqua gratuita che però il secondo giorno non abbiamo trovato. Peccato che non c'era per esempio una tovaglia o tovaglioli e strofinacci. Ma pazienza con l'esperienza si impara. Colazione inclusa nel prezzo servita a buffet in un bellissimo piano con tante vetrate e qalche posto a sedere come se fosse in veranda. Tanta scelta, cornetti non buonissimi ma molte cose tra cui scelgiere sia salate, sia dolci. Loro t portano poi le bevande calde . La cosa più bella di questo albergo che davvero vorrei trovare in ogni posto che frequento è la gentilezza del personale. Alla reception all'ingresso abbiamo trovato una SIGNORA SUPER!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ci ha accolto con sorrisi, pazienza, simpatia.. Ci ha tolto tutti i dubbi che avevamo circa trasporti, vicinanza al centro, ci ha dato una mappa e ci ha indicato un sacco di cose .... davvero complimenti.. mi è dispiaciuto andare via e salutarla proprio perchè non ti tratta come cliente ma come amico..bravissima!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Simple hotel, extremely busy with very rude staff. Stayed for the start & end of a tour. There were no clean towels so we were left with 4 hand towels to dry ourselves with. Desk staff rude & uninterested. Breakfast extremely busy and felt like feeding time at the zoo. If travelling for myself again I definitely would not stay here

I loved my stay here. The business single room was enormous, the backlit cloud shaped headboard was ridiculously cool, the bathroom was great, huge clean bathtub, the window that opens all the way up gifted me with cool, crisp fresh air, and the free access to a drink machine that had espresso, macchiato, steamed milk, hot cocoa, hot water, latte, or plain coffee was a life-giver. The reception desk always had someone to help. Half of the hotel was filled with Ukrainian refugees, which I thought was a good thing. My only real complaint is it's a $25 cab ride from the parts of Munich I wanted to explore, and I wish the room had a kettle, hair conditioner, and lotion for my dry skin. Overall, I was quite comfortable, and almost didn't want to leave.
