Santa Marina, a Luxury Collection Resort, Mykonos

As 3 friends who travel together, we always stay at 5 star hotels, we have had over 40 trips together. We have always been very happy with the hotels, and have never given a bad review. The hotel itself is nice, but the customer service is deplorable. We had requested a suite, but were given a small room. When we requested a change, they said that I had to go online. Our nr 3 arrived the following day, and we had informed the staff of this several times, but they would not check her in, the manager needed to come and fix this. Every request we had seemed to be a huge effort for them, even the simplest things. The checkout was not pleasant. They had overcharged us 1800€, and said they could not refund the credit card charge, They said the manager needed to approve this. They claimed we had stayed 3 nights instead of 2- which was bizzare. After 2 nights we were fortunatly able to move to the Bill and Coo, which was like heaven.

My partner and I wanted a nice getaway. I booked a three night stay - which was extremely pricy. While Mykonos is known as the 'party' island, I did research and this hotel is about 25 mins from town - it's not in a location near parties, it's billed as a 'getaway resort.' However, on a Sunday night, with the hope to recover from jet-lag we went to bed only to be woken at 10pm to the sound of fireworks, from there is was BLASTING music through midnight. A wedding reception was taking place at the open air hotel restaurant situated below all the guest rooms. We called the front desk asking to turn down the music - we were rudely told that in Greece it's legal to play music till midnight. The next day, we found many guests who were very upset. The front desk said they received many complaints - yet no apology was ever provided. I'm a Lifetime Titanium Bonvoy member and I've never had an experience like this at a 'high end' hotel. The hotel could have had the wedding party buy out the property or the music could have been at a level that was more respectful to other guests. It's one thing to have a bad experience, but it's so much worse when the hotel doesn't even care. Oh, I also recorded a video from my hotel room, so the hotel cannot refute this post. It speaks volumes!

When our number 3 arrived, they refused her entry despire us giving the reception her name prior to her arrival. Everything we asked for was a problem- towards the end we just stopped asking, even for ice to our room. . We knew that check out was going to be bad, it turned into a total nightmare. They overchagrd us 1800 euros, but we were told that they couldn’t reverse the charge before talking to the manager. They maintained that we had stayed three nights instead of two- which was crazy. Thankfully we were able to move to the Bill and Coo- fantastic. Night and day!

We asked for an other room (and paying the difference). They told us we had to book this online- unbelievable. They were unable to change the room. Number 3 in our group arrived the following day, and although we had provided them with her name, they refused to check her in, and she had to talk to the manager before being able to check in. Everything was an effort for the hotel- we eventually stopped asking for anything- even ice to the room- as everything was a problem. At check out, they overcharged, stating we had stayed 3 nights instead of two, and charging for a room that had been prepaid- a total of 1800 euro. They said they were unable to reverse the overvharge without talking to the manager. After 2 nights we were thankfully able to move to Bill and Coo, which is totally amazing.

The hotel is absolutely stunning! The resort suits are immaculate, and the hospitality from the staff is exceptional especially Ms Alexis and Elina from the concierge service - a game changer in getting reservations at the best venues in Mykonos. Well managed by Mr. Konstantinos who was always around to make sure that we can enjoy Mykonos on the best possible way. The private beach is wonderful, offering a peaceful and exclusive experience. Everything about this place exudes high-class elegance and comfort. Highly recommend!

Hotel is really gorgeous but it is not secure. My fiancé's gold bracelet was stolen from our room while we stayed there. the hotel told me that they didn't believe me basically. I would not stay here if you are bringing things that you don't want to be stolen.

We went here to spend a day at the beach. Absolutely everything perfect. Probably the best location of the island with the best staff as well. Extremely accurate and friendly service, always present without ever being intrusive. All the We’ll come back for sure!

We had a spectacular 3-night stay at the Santa Marina in Mykonos. The staff was all super professional and the hotel was impeccably design and expertly run. We enjoyed the luxurious buffet breakfast in the mornings and the hotel offered us many excellent recommendations on what restaurants to head to for dinner. The concierge was also helpful in making us dinner reservations at several of those restaurants. The hotel room was super clean and the housekeeping service kept our room stocked with towels, water, chocolate and other goodies. Our room had a beautiful view of the sea, which was great to gaze out during the evenings while sipping a glass of wine. Since we stayed there with our 3 children, we did not visit the "adults-only" pool, but we spent many hours at the "family pool" which was perfect for us. We also spent an entire afternoon at the beach, where the service was prompt and very attentive. We had an amazing lunch at the Buddha Beach Bar, which was a phenomenal meal. I only wish we could have found a night to return for dinner! The hotel was also extremely helpful with arranging for cars to take us other places on the island, and pick us up when we were done. This was super helpful because there are very few taxis in Mykonos. So we were thankful for having a way to always get a car to pick us up with only a 15-20 minute wait in most circumstances. We stayed in a Sea View Family Resort suite, which was a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit, joined by a spiral staircase. Our kids loved having their own separate bedroom, which we appreciated as well! In short, i would highly recommend this resort. This is an excellent place to stay with children, because the staff and hotel are super kid-friendly, but it also still feels like an ultra-luxurious resort that my wife and I would have selected pre-kids as well.

This was our family’s first visit to Greece and I can say that Santa Marina is now one of my all time favorites! The rooms are perfection! So beautifully appointed and luxurious. The staff every where on the property are warm and engaging. The food and service at both Elias and Buddha Bar were excellent and the views were stunning. The concierge team perfectly took care of all of our questions and needs from Dinners, to transportation and activities.. The Beach at Santa Marina is as good as it gets. We left one day to experience a beach club and quickly realized that there was no reason to leave our gorgeous hotel for a beach club again. We can not wait to return to Santa Marina!
