This was a relaxing and beautiful trip to Onuma, Hakodate and visited with our Japanese sister in law and her husband. Lovely, peaceful accommodations and room amenities, including resort ware/slippers. Some amenities included spa/sauna, complimentary room items, and wifi. We noticed that a bit of the resort maintenance can be looked into such as exterior painting near dock walkway, exterior paneling and outdoor deck flooring near our room spa. Also filling juice containers in train themed bar room could be attended to. Otherwise, staff/service was professional and hospitable. Surrounding garden and walkways were well maintained with seasonal flowers. We enjoyed a French themed dinner, which can include a requested sommelier. The on site bakery was a plus, but note that some days they are closed. After enjoying our stay, we actually requested an extra day to explore nearby restaurants and parks/lake. We were thoroughly relaxed and look forward to a future visit.

This is a hotel that most tourists from outside of Japan might never visit but it appears very popular with Japanese tourists visiting the Onuma/Hakodate area. I highly recommend it if wanting to be close to Onuma lake /park with beautiful views of Koma-ga-take volcano/mountain from the dining facility and also from many of the rooms. We were there in the lush summer but I imagine in the winter it is just as beautiful. Given that it is largely Japanese guests, English was challenging at times and the breakfast buffet is mainly Japanese oriented - with some cereal/toast/pastries/fruit if Japanese cuisine isn’t your preference for breakfast - but delicious. Even without English, service was great throughout the hotel. The staff looked after our conference and attendees very well. Rooms are clean, quiet and peaceful. Conference attendees raved about the indoor/outdoor onsen and also enjoyed walking the grounds. If you want nature, peace, quiet, good service you will enjoy this hotel very much. Having a car will help but there is also hourly shuttle service to the train station.

This was the perfect location to stay overnight on our trip between Asahikawa and Tokyo. We had travelled by train from Sapporo and were switching to the Shinkansen at Shin Hakodate Hokuto. We had booked a room with two beds which turned out to be either double or queen. We also hadn't realised that the hotel has an onsen, so this was a particularly nice surprise. The beds were good, and the Japanese style pillows were okay, too - sometimes they can be a bit hard, or too fat. The hotel is clean and modern with nice toiletries and yukata supplied. The only slight disappointment was that the restaurant was closed on the night we stayed (a Friday), but there is a Ramen restaurant downstairs in an adjacent shopping area, and this was fine.

My first Japanese hotel experience did not disappoint! This is a hotel that most tourists from outside of Japan might never visit but it appears very popular with Japanese tourists visiting the Onuma/Hakodate area. I highly recommend it if wanting to be close to Onuma lake /park with beautiful views of Koma-ga-take volcano/mountain from the dining facility and also from many of the rooms. We were there in the lush summer but I imagine in the winter it is just as beautiful. Given that it is largely Japanese guests, English was challenging at times and the breakfast buffet is mainly Japanese oriented - with some cereal/toast/pastries/fruit if Japanese cuisine isn’t your preference for breakfast - but delicious. Even without English, service was great throughout the hotel. The staff looked after our conference and attendees very well. Rooms are clean, quiet and peaceful. Conference attendees raved about the indoor/outdoor onsen and also enjoyed walking the grounds. If you want nature, peace, quiet, good service you will enjoy this hotel very much. Having a car will help but there is also hourly shuttle service to the train station.

This was a relaxing and beautiful trip to Onuma, Hakodate and visited with our Japanese sister in law and her husband. Lovely, peaceful accommodations and room amenities, including resort ware/slippers. Some amenities included spa/sauna, complimentary room items, and wifi. We noticed that a bit of the resort maintenance can be looked into such as exterior painting near dock walkway, exterior paneling and outdoor deck flooring near our room spa. Also filling juice containers in train themed bar room could be attended to. Otherwise, staff/service was professional and hospitable. Surrounding garden and walkways were well maintained with seasonal flowers. We enjoyed a French themed dinner, which can include a requested sommelier. The on site bakery was a plus, but note that some days they are closed. After enjoying our stay, we actually requested an extra day to explore nearby restaurants and parks/lake. We were thoroughly relaxed and look forward to a future visit.
