I was on a Northern Italy Lake Tour with my mom and best friend with 25 other people. This hotel was the second stop of our trip. The travel company selected the hotels, so we were at the mercy of where they put us. If you like rock hard beds, wafer thin pillows, scratchy rough sheets, semi clean rooms, abrasive and rude staff, then this is a place for you! The two stars are for excellent wifi connection and speed and friendly housekeeping staff. This is clearly a very busy hotel. Every time we went through the lobby there were groups checking in. The sign said the air conditioning in the hotel would be on until 10/22, and we checked out before the 22nd and it was never on. Rooms were stuffy and hot. We had to ask about opening the window, which we had to sign a waiver (understandable - there are no screens). Each bed had one very thin pillow. When we asked for 3 more (one for each in the room) the look of dismay and surprise from the person at the front desk was almost comical. The fridge in the room was stocked daily, but never was cold enough to even chill the bottles. We had the same waiter two nights and he was miserable, unfriendly, inattentive and just down right rude. I tried to be friendly to see if it would help - and it didn’t. When asking for directions at the front desk the person seemed annoyed that we asked, was very curt and snotty. Even when looking at other staff they all looked miserable - no one smiled. At least the housekeeping ladies were pleasant and greeted you with good morning and a smile. Not an overly welcoming experience and I couldn’t wait to check out and continue on our trip. If I was to come back, I certainly would not book to stay here.

The hotel was very clean, refurbished recently, lovely balcony view. On reading reviews before our stay, the main complaint was the food. Obviously not taking heed of reviews, as Breakfast was same every day, with tinned fruit, only found some fresh fruit on our last day. Dinners were awful, same salads every day, mainly processed food again, meat was as tough as a boot and vegetables, same every day, watery brocoli, cauliflower and carrot. The nicest was the icecream for dessert, also some second courses which included pasta would be a good filler! We were there with a Tour Group and the overall consensus was that the food was a big problem, most especially for 3 ladies who were coeliac. Such a pity the Hotel would be ideal other than the very poor food. Bar staff and entertainment were also very good 😎

Good location by the lake side. Can carpark inside the front door makes unloading luggage easy convenient. The is a lift to use, so save climbing with heavy luggage if you have.

The floor was noise, not pot to make hot water, and would have appreciate more complementary free bottles of water. Plus noisy on the weekends for the restaurant that is close at the hotel and offers musical shows until midnight!

We enjoyed 5 great nights at the Hotel Bellavista, which is centrally located within easy walking distance from the ferries. The front desk staff were incredibly helping, as we were hiking in the area and need advice on transportation. We loved the terrace in the afternoons, watching the ferries and partaking in the best aperaol spritzes in Menaggio! The bar staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely hardworking. Everyone at the hotel was very professional and accommodating. Our room overlooking the lake, was large and well adorned. Hotel Bellavista is a gem in the lovely town of Menaggio!!

Review for a one day stay from Singaporean who stay 29-30 August 22. Location- hotel ideal location near to ferry . 10-15 min walk to cable car. From como railway station . Go down the stair from the exit of the station. Follow the pedestrian crossing and go down and walk straight into the town . Easy . Hotel: super clean . Air con was super good and cold ! I love it . Room wise size is ok. Ruben was helpful and explain to us what to do for our W day stay . Where to take ferry. Where to take cable car . He was nice and smiling . Food: I did not opt for breakfast as there are many food around . I had twice the gelato for nearby shop. It was good ! Overal. My stay in room 403 was great ! Check in and out was easy . Please stay here. At night I also went to the square juat below and chill out with food .

Very good location, close to the train station. Most importantly, room is very clean, though the shower pan is a bit small. A wide variety for the breakfast and staff are mostly polite and very helpful. Luggage storage on the last day is available. I have booked the room on the day itself for check-in and is not an issue. Good for solo travellers. The sound proofing of the room is not great and you can hear everything from the corridors and the room above and next door.
