Hotel di Nice Waterfront, Nice

La ubicación es excelente y la habitación que nos tocó era espaciosa y cómoda, pero sumamente ruidosa: estaba en el primer piso y no tenía cortinas: sólo tenía black-out, es decir, que teníamos dos opciones: o estar sin luz natural o exponernos a la mirada de vecinos y transeúntes. El baño, si bien era antiguo, estaba limpio, pero no tiene enchufes y no ponen amenities. La puerta de la habitación no tiene traba y el wifi no es bueno y es incompatible con los Iphone, inconcebible hoy en día, en que una gran parte de los pasajeros tienen Iphone. Y lo peor al respecto fue la pésima atención de la recepcionista que estaba cuando llegamos al hotel el sábado 8 de abril por la mañana, quien cuando le pedimos ayuda para conectarnos nos respondió a la defensiva y de modo grosero y mostró muy poca predisposición para ayudarnos, pero terminó reconociendo que la red que ofrece el hotel no es segura y, por lo tanto, no es compatible con los Iphone. Así que si tienes un Iphone, este hotel es la peor elección. Y un último detalle, no menor: el hotel no respetó las normas de la plataforma Booking, a través de la cual hice la reserva (cancelable y sin pago anticipado), según la cual tenía tiempo hasta el 5 de abril a las 23:59 hs. para cancelar la reserva. Sin embargo, dos días antes, el hotel hizo efectivo el pago. En conclusión, mi experiencia con este hotel no fue buena. Por el mismo precio, hay muchos otros hoteles bien ubicados y que ofrecen mejor servicio.

My partner and i were there for 2 days. The location is very good. Other than this the hotel has very basic amenities, the hotel rooms are small and not in good condition. The shower is over the bath and the space is small. An old style of shower. There is no room service to order meals to your room so you have to be out to get something to eat. Upon arrival i asked the girl at the reception desk to freeze my icepack for my medication. When we checked out she gave me a completey thawed and soft icepack. When i asked her why it wasn't frozen, she literally just shrugged her shoulders and said she doesn't know. She didn't care that i was travelling with medication and that i had carefully explained to her when we checked in why i needed the icepack frozen. She didn't apologise either, was completely non-chalant despite the fact that i was clearly upset and anxious about my meds that i had to take on a flight with me. Her colleague then offered to run to the pharmacy to buy me a icepack. We expected a better quality stay and a better hotel experience but we were dissapointed. I would not recommend this hotel especially to older couples. We would rather pay more for a more comfortable stay. Tanya G South Africa

Réception, odeur de cuisine froide et vétuste. 1ère chambre 105 encaisser entre le bureau et la cuisine ce qui veut dire bruit et odeur. Personnel bruyant, dès 6h du matin. 2ème chambre 402 coincé entre les oreillers et la tête de lit, mouchoirs usagés et pour couronner le tout, l’alarme incendie qui s’est déclenchée à 5h du matin.

Quando siamo arrivati alle 15:30 abbiamo dovuto aspettare 30 minuti perché la camera non era pronta. Arrivo in camera e il wc era sporco. quando vado per farmi una docica scopro che non c'é acqua calda. Ho dovuto chiamare ben 3 volte prima che inviassero qualcuno dalla reception per constatare che effettivamente acqua calda non c'era. Mi hanno quindi cambiato camera (piu piccola di quella precedente). Per questo ritardo e questa loro mancanza non sono potuta andare ad un appuntamento importante. Non consiglio per niente questo hotel. L'unica cosa positiva é la location. La general manager dell'hotel mi ha promesso un rimborso. Sto aspettando.

Pros: Beautiful room with a wonderful view of the sea. Staff were lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. Location was flawless. Cons: The breakfast was amazing, but the options were the same every day without any changes. Gym was almost non-existent. The dinner options were heavily mushroom/truffle focused which made it difficult for me who suffers with allergies to them.

The rooms in this hotel were clean and the bed large and comfortable, our shower was either freezing or scalding, we couldn’t get the temperature right at all and we had no shower gel, which admittedly we didn’t ask to get filled as we thought the cleaning staff would check it. The decor is a bit dated throughout the hotel which could really do with brightening up a bit. The breakfast room particularly was very tired and brown, we would have liked to have eaten outside but the small garden area seemed to only cater for smokers. We took our coffee outside a couple of mornings and the tables were dirty and the ashtrays full from the night before. The pool area is lovely with amazing views but loungers are reserved very early and are limited in number, several times we went for a swim after a long hot day around 4pm and there was nothing available except seats set up for dining. The pool was a good temperature and lovely to swim in, if a bit small. There was an apparently new system in place for pool towels and we hadn’t been given tokens on check in. We weren’t asked for them the first day and got towels no problem, the second day the staff refused to give us towels despite us having our room keys with us. We had to go all the way to reception to get them and then we overheard other people getting them without tokens - so the system doesn’t work very well! I asked reception if my daughter who was staying in Nice could join us one day at the pool and was happy to pay a fee for this. I was given a very blunt no in answer to this question by a rude receptionist, the rest of the reception staff were very polite. I understand this may not have been possible but a polite no would have been preferred. When we were waiting to leave we heard several people complaining loudly they couldn’t get into their rooms and were being told check in is ‘From’ 3pm and not ‘At’ 3pm so beware of this, some people waited an hour to get into their rooms. We stayed in 3 different hotels in France and this was our most expensive and least favourite.

Hotel Le Meurice has a great location on a quiet road, just a few minutes walk from the Promenade des Anglais and an easy walk to the historical centre of the city. The hotel is small and features Art Deco styling. The staff are very friendly, and there is an elevator up to the rooms. We arrived during a heatwave and were thankful for the in-room air conditioner. We stayed in a room at the back of the hotel and at nighttime it was really quiet and we had no trouble sleeping. The bathroom was surprisingly large and included a shower. Breakfast is served in the tiny lobby but there is no need to pay for breakfast at the hotel because there are numerous excellent options nearby. For example, the Bio-coop Nice Grimaldi offers fantastic organic breads, fruit, yoghurts, et cetera, and the cafe called Maison Celine Patisserie serves delicious pastries and coffee. Both are within a one-minute walk from the hotel. For dinner, there is an overwhelming range of restaurants close by. The problem with the hotel is that there is a major construction site in the rear. The noise of cranes and jackhammers and the deep vibrations that shake the room continue on and off throughout the day. If you intend to spend most of the daytime out sightseeing this should not be a problem. At some point the construction will end. Overall, we had a great experience at Hotel Le Meurice and would happily stay here again.

Wonderful location facing the sea. The staff were kind and friendly. Effort was made to make our room look lovely as it was our wedding anniversary. I would definitely stay again. An added bonus is that there is a bus stop a couple of 100 yards from the hotel entrance that means you can take an easy ride to and from the airport.

I rarely write reviews but felt that I had to for this hotel. First of all I would just like to thank the staff at the hotel for making my stay so enjoyable. After many delayed flights I finally made it to the hotel only to be greeted by Fabio. He immediately made me feel happy. I even noticed when I landed that he had sent me several emails asking me if everything was okay and if he could do anything for me as I hadn’t arrived yet :) He then sat down with me and gave me some suggestions on what I should see in Nice. The hotel itself is in a fabulous location. About a 4 minute walk to the Metro which can take you to the airport and about a 4 minute walk to the Promenade Anglais (The Beach) It’s clean and quiet and the staff is so kind and I feel really make you feel welcome. As I was arriving a previous guest was even dropping off a gift to Fabio because that’s how nice he is. I loved my stay in Nice so much and would definitely stay at this hotel again :)
