My wife and I discovered this wonderful place after traveling everywhere in Europe for the last 40 years. As a travel writer I have confidently shared our discovery of this wonderful place with many friends and readers. From the moment you arrive you receive a warm greeted by the most professional and caring staff. Everyone is attentive and truly want to make your stay a good one. When we arrived mid day we went to the pool for a wonderful lunch. Near us was a table with an attractive family, of 3 generations and their family dog, They were the family who owns and manages the property , ”eating their own cooking” as we say, and enjoying the quiet loveliness of their own property. There are 3 choices of accommodations here, each wonderful and meeting special preferences. We stayed in the Palazzo and loved it, but the Castello/Castle and its garden and views are outstanding. The rooms in the beautifully renovated stables with large grass common area are very accommodating, especially for families with children. The whole property is a destination in itself with so many things to see. We had breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks, all in totally different environments, and it all was superb. In closing, we all know that the staff makes all the difference wherever we stay. Again, the staff, and owners, could not be more welcoming, joyful and professional. The hotel is located off a divided road which isn't illuminated so slow down as it's easy to miss the entrance. Staff are accommodating and kind but they did close down for the night so check with them if you're going to be late. You absolutely need a car to get to this hotel. Our room was a triple room and very spacious. We could drive up and park outside hence the motel feel and it was very convenient having the car outside. The room had a strong smell which was a bit mouldy--I couldn't identify the smell. After being in the room awhile, we couldn't smell it anymore. Everything was clean though.The room was so warm that we had to shut off the heat and open the window. The water in the shower wasn't hot enough for my other half although it was fine by me and the floors are very slippery in the bathroom when wet.. You can hear the train going by every hour or so and the people upstairs but you couldn't hear the cars from the road. The train only went by once in the middle of the night. And the reason I know this is...my biggest bone of contention...the rock hard beds and the flat pillows. We came in late so we didn't call to ask for extra pillows thinking that the staff had left for the night so I slept with towels under my pillow but it was a difficult sleep for how hard the bed was. We definitely asked for them on the second night as it felt as though my neck and shoulders were going to break. Breakfast was very good; they had the usual cereals, fancy juices, baked goods, plus hot foods like eggs, bacon, hotdogs, etc. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express near Malpensa the night before and the B&B Hotel's breakfast far exceeded it both in quality and variety. There's nothing around the area to walk to so factor in the cost of breakfast if you want it. The breakfast room was accessible from the interior door of our room and there was a lift and stairs so it was accessible for all. I would stay again but they definitely need to invest in mattress toppers and extra pillows for this old lady.
