GuestMar is a Home away from Home as everyone is extremely nice and helpful. Both staff and other guests, which us Special. Super beautiful rooms with with love for details, a rooftop and fabulous, fresh breakfast. All day Tea, coffee, freshly baked cake and fruits 🙂

Excellent location in a lovely restored building,it's a leisurely 5 min walk to the local fish market. the breakfast is full of lovely fresh fruit,hams, cheese, bread and cakes I loved the fact that we could use the kitchen to cook meals in.the staff are really friendly.the rooms super clean The only SMALL thing that I think needs addressing is the small amount of power points in the room and a lack of USB points. I would definitely go back here and would highly recommend it

If you are looking for a wonderful, authentic stay in a lovely Portugese town, Guest Mar is the place. You will open the door to beautifully finished stairs and a completely stocked breakfast room. The rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is a lovely spread but, most of all, the host is worth the whole visit. He told us where to travel, all the best spots to stop at in the Algave, where to dine, not to forget the market on Saturday and we just loved him and wished he could travel with us! We missed him when we left! It might look out of the way but, you’ll see.. here are the quiet, cobblestone streets and little shops and river walkway that you are looking for!!! I just have to admit, that this place is extraordinary. The staff are more than helpful, even if you arrive very late, after the reception has closed. The room was clean, cozy and nice. Not too much or to little at breakfast. Just as you want it to be. They actually offered to make us breakfast to go, since we left very early. I'm living here next time I go to the Algarve region.

Stayed there from 19 - 23 May having booked via airline website. I'm glad I did. The building inside and out is beautiful with lots of character and has been renovated to a high standard tastefully (in keeping with its history and location). I understand all bedrooms are air conditioned. There is a rooftop terrace which guests can use from 10.00- 22.00. Joao and Riccado will make you feel welcome - there was a problem with my reservation because despite me booking and paying via the Ryanair website Joao had not been informed so he knew nothing about me until I arrived! Despite the problem with the booking Joao manged to accommodate me in two different rooms during my stay which was actually quite nice. Joao and Riccardo are both very well informed about "what" and "where" in and around Olhao and were always willing to help when asked for advice or help. Breakfast is simple and filling in the light and airy "sala de jantar" on the ground floor. Guests can cook if they want in the dining room. The only thing I would say is there are lot of stairs in the building so you really need to be physically fit to stay here. I hope to return soon. Obrigado por tudo Joao and Riccardo!

Nous avons séjourné 4 nuits dans cette guesthouse incroyable, ancienne maison de pêcheurs rénovée avec goût, dans un quartier typiquement portugais , non loin du centre ville, du marché et du port. Nous avons apprécié la décoration de l'endroit en premier lieu, le confort des chambres, la terrasse sur le toit, les espaces communs, la cuisine..... Mais ce qui nous a le plus épaté dans cet endroit charmant, c'est l'accueil de tout le personnel qui nous fait nous sentir "chez nous". Les petits déjeuners sont excellents tous les matins, et il y en a pour tous les goûts en sucré et salé, fruits, yaourts .... La cuisine est ouverte pour nous tous les jours jusqu'à 22 h, et nous pouvons sans souci y prendre un café, un jus de fruit, une part de gâteau, des biscuits ou une orange, qui sont laissés à notre disposition durant toute la journée. Nous y avons même dîné tous les soirs car il y a tout le nécessaire pour cuisiner ! Mille mercis à toute l'équipe de Guest Mar pour votre accueil, le partage et votre disponibilité. Votre maison Guest Mar est un vrai bonheur, un ravissement de confort et de bien être !!! Vous savez offrir à vos hôtes tout ce que vous avez, dans un bel esprit de partage avec l'attention et le lien aux autres !!! Nous sommes partis à regret, en ne pensant qu'à une chose, déjà y revenir ..... (Si on voulait juste chercher la petit bête, il faudrait juste changer les confitures barquettes par des confitures en pot, faites maison ou artisanales, et ce serait la perfection !)
