Tryp by Wyndham Aruba Adults Only Hotel

I booked this hotel last minute. It's a short walk to the beautiful beach. Pros: The Staff! Paola and Ish were amazing and changed my life forever. Ramphes is a human encyclopedia, he takes extreme pride in all he does. Great humans! Housekeeping was very good but did not empty the humidifier. All staff was great. Pool: swim up to the bar pool. Who doesn't love that? INDOOR FOOD: excellent tapas but not enough options. CONS: VIEW: I was on the first floor, if I opened my curtains everyone in the parking lot would see me. My curtain was sadly closed for a week. SMELL: musty, and damp. My swim suits wouldn't dry in the room. If you don't empty the very small humidifier several times a day and freeze your room, the smell will knock you over. SHOWER: Although the water pressure was great, there is no way to close the shower. It's bizarre. Water gets all over the bathroom. I wasted so many towels cleaning water. You need to be on top of it or it will add to the smell. I was in a remodelled room. It wasn't very modern, the sink looked unfinished as did the wall. The wall was patched but not sanded or painted. The refrigerator leaked the last couple of days as well. POOL & Beach FOOD: if you like fried greasy food you'll be happy. The smell of the oil was gross. ~~the pool was only filled on one side. It's very separate from the hotel. Unless you walk over to the pool, there is no place to just sit and enjoy your coffee. I sat in a dark smelly room every morning drinking my coffee. This place needs work. The only saving grace was the staff. If I hadn't booked it as a package with my airline I definitely would have changed hotels.~~

This is the 2nd review written for this property. Pros: Priscilla and Jonathan are Great employees. the location is great. Parking is Great Cons: I was without lights for 8 hours (from 11am-7pm) and could not sleep with my C-pack machine. Without this machine I could have had a stroke. The shower had a serious leak due to the floor design and the bed rolled around the room just by sitting on it. There are NO amenities in room such as an iron and ironing-board. The television did not work and the technician did not know why it was not working. The property seems to be undergoing new management. The Key to the back door never I would like to give it another try, but I DON’T KNOW!

Overall the hotel is great if you need a basic option in Aruba and will spend most of the time out of the room. This is the perfect hotel if you would like… *Location: Central, easy to walk to many restaurants and many activities. 20 minutes away from the airport and within 20 min walking of many restaurants, bars, boat trips and other activities. *Rooms: clean, comfortable and minimalist with fridge. Shower was adequate. Musty with views of parking lot. *Housekeeping: great timing and service. *Beach: 3 min walk. Shuttle service barely operated but not needed. Chairs and attendant were great. FYI: WiFi is intermittent.
