Hôtel Maison Traversière

A very nice cosy hotel at a good location in Paris! (near by station Gare de Lyon) Nice staff, good interior, clean room, good beds and a parking place near by the hotel. I dunnot understand why the reviews are bad; I really liked the hotel and they deserve a good recent review. It were hot days in Paris so I only missed an airco in the room.

I had made plans to stay one night close to Gare de Lyon, before traveling on to Switzerland the next day. I’d made a free-cancellation reservation at another hotel, but later found I’d made a mistake by booking 2 nights. I cancelled this, but found the price had shot up when I tried to re-book . I searched again and the Hotel du Midi, at £138 non-refundable, seemed the least expensive option for the date I wanted. I made the booking without paying too much attention to the hotel’s description. I later realized that a Parisian 2-star hotel is unlikely to have a functioning lift. On checking in I was allocated a room on the second floor. I am 69 and getting up a narrow winding staircase with a suitcase was an ordeal. The corridors were dark and dingy, and the whole ambience of the hotel was unwelcoming. The hotel marketed itself as “artisanale”, roughly translated as “designer shabby”. The room itself would have been acceptable, but for water dripping from the ceiling on to the lintel of the bathroom door. A puddle of water had accumulated on the bathroom floor, making it hazardous. I reported this to reception, but was told the hotel was full and I could not have another room as the hotel was full, nor could the problem be fixed until the morning. I was given some towels to cover the floor so I could use the bathroom safely. The receptionist agreed I could have a free breakfast (9 Euros), but this was paltry compensation for one of worst hotel stays I have ever experienced. I did ask the receptionist to deduct 25% from my bill and he agreed, but I suspect he did not have the power to authorize this. In retrospect, a full refund would have been justified if the hotel was unable to accommodate me in another room. I note that other reviews are more positive. Given the age range of other guests at breakfast, I think the hotel’s core clientele are backpackers and younger persons on a budget. Nonetheless, it is wholly unacceptable to expect any guest to sleep in a room with water dripping from the ceiling. If this cannot be remedied immediately, then a full refund is the only alternative.

Espectacular. Nos alojamos allí las dos primeras noches, el trato del recepcionista fue maravilloso. Se encuentra muy cerca de Gare de Lyon, íbamos buscando sobre todo buena ubicación y limpieza, viajábamos con nuestra hija de dos años. El trato fue súper agradable. el desayuno está genial. A la vuelta de disney, a última noche, decidimos repetir hotel. Una maravilla. Es verdad que los precios no se corresponden con un hotel de dos estrellas. No tiene ascensor y las habitaciones estándar están en la primera planta, no son tan bonitas como las de las fotos. PEro como en todo, si quieres las bonitas, tienes que pagarlas. El shampoo y el gel de ducha huelen de maravilla.

Zu erst das positive: - freundliches Personal - gute Lage zum Gare de Lyon Das war das positive. Es gibt im Hotel keinen Lift, nur eine sehr enge Treppe. Unser Zimmer war im Dachgeschoss und ähnelte eher einer Abstellkammer. Nun ja, für eine Nacht okay… aber: Mit meinen 1.86m war das abgeschrägte Zimmer sehr unpraktisch. Im Zimmer gibt es weder Safe noch Kühlschrank. Ebenfalls fehlten sämtliche Toilettenutensilien (wie Badehaube, Wattestäbchen, etc.). Keine Handseife oder Duschgel vorhanden! Sehr kleine und enge Dusche. Der Preis ist definitiv zu hoch für die Preis-Leistung. Das Zimmer war soweit sauber, jedoch extrem in die Jahre gekommen (überall Schäden, besonders im Bad sichtbar). Wie die meisten älteren Hotels, ist auch hier alles sehr hellhörig und laut. Da wir im Sommer im Dachgeschoss waren, ist auch die Temperatur unangenehm heiss. Keine Storen vorhanden nur Vorhänge die nichts abdunkeln, ebenfalls keine Klia oder Ventilatoren. Fazit: Für eine Nacht okay, mehr nicht. Würde trotzdem ein anderes Hotel nehmen für nächstes mal. Wichtig: Bringen Sie ihr Duschgel mit und keinen schweren Koffer, Sie schleppen ihn selber hoch.

Honteux .. les photos sur le site ne correspondent qu’à quelques chambres rénovées. Les autres chambres sont vétustes et minimalistes. Faire payer 270 euros pour deux nuits pour une chambre digne d’un motel, sous les toits sans climatisation, avec un décor miteux. A fuir si vous n’êtes pas certains d’avoir une chambre rénovée. Le reste de l’hôtel est très mignon, mais seulement deux chambres “double standard” ont été refaites, les autres sont miteuses. La réception se garde bien de vous le dire quand vous les avez au téléphone avant de réserver. Réservation faite via leur site internet. Au petit bonheur la chance donc, dans notre cas, 270 euros pour deux nuits, ça fait cher la plaisanterie. Et bien sûr, pas de possibilité de changer de chambre.

Très bon séjour dans cet établissement ! Les chambres sont propres et insonorisées avec une jolie déco. Le PDJ sous forme de buffet est complet et très bons. Nous avons été très bien accueillis, les hôtes sont gentils et aux petits soins pour leurs clients ! Merci :)

L'hotel è molto vicino alla stazione di Gare de Lione, pertanto è facile raggiungere tutta la città con comodità. Il personale dell'albergo è straordinariamente gentile e disponibile. Le camere sono molto piccole ma pulite, ben tenute ed accoglienti. Da consigliare se si vuole soggiornare piacevolmente a Parigi senza spendere una fortuna.
