PPengguna TetamuStayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival.
Pros:
- Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport.
- Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6).
- Amazing bed.
- Full-size working desk in the room.
- Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly.
- The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge.
- The food was amazing.
Cons:
- The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day.
- Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point).
Overall:
- Highly recommend, would stay again.

PPengguna Tetamu這次在科隆入住的這家酒店整體屬於 “中規中矩” 的實用型選擇，沒有明顯短板但也少了些驚喜。位置還算便利，步行到附近的公交站約 5 分鐘，去科隆大教堂、老城區等景點搭乘公共交通或打車都不算繞路，周邊有小超市和簡餐店，日常採購、解決三餐很方便。房間面積適中，單人住足夠寬敞，雙人住稍顯緊湊，傢俱和陳設能看出有些使用痕跡，但整體乾淨整潔，床品柔軟度剛好，睡眠質量沒有受影響；衞生間乾濕分離做得不錯，熱水供應穩定，洗漱用品是基礎款，建議對護膚有要求的朋友自帶。服務方面，前台工作人員態度温和，辦理入住和退房都很高效，問景點路線時也會耐心解答，但沒有主動提供額外的貼心服務（比如本地遊玩推薦、行李寄存延伸服務等）。早餐是簡單的自助形式，麪包、火腿、雞蛋、咖啡、果汁等基礎品類都有，口味中規中矩，能滿足飽腹需求，追求豐富餐食的話可能會覺得有些單一。總體來説，如果你是為了在科隆便捷出行、追求高性價比住宿，這家酒店能滿足基本需求，適合注重實用性而非奢華體驗的旅客。

PPengguna TetamuThe size of room and cleanliness is good and expected for a 5 star Marriot hotel. But very poor service staff and i can see very limited staff. The first receptionist i talk to was not so courteous or warm as we came early and decided to drop of our bags and go out till check in. The way she was communicating with us was with not so warm or good attitude. So we didn't say anything as she asked us to come 3pm though we arrived 9 am despite i am a Bonvoy elite member. After we checkin 3.30 pm we have to wait in lobby for 15 minutes to get back our bags and the next receptionist was no so warm also. I am not sure its my asian looks!! After checkin i asked for slippers and dental kits as both were not there and never they gave it despite saying they will send it..and again i went reception when we go out and come back and then receptionist said he will get it and i can carry it...never ever in my life of staying in a star rated hotel i was asked to carry slippers to my room instead of sending it to the room. So dissapoonted with Marriot Cologne. May be we expect more as we are pampered by the same hotel group in Gulf and Asia!!!

I stayed at Merian Hotel in Cologne, and I must say — the location and price were unbeatable!
📍 Perfect Location
The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Cologne Central Station (Hauptbahnhof) and Cologne Cathedral (Kölner Dom). It’s incredibly convenient if you’re traveling by train or planning to explore the old town on foot. You can easily walk to shops, restaurants, and major attractions in under 10 minutes.
💰 Excellent Value for Money
For such a prime central location, the room rate was very affordable. It’s rare to find a hotel this close to the station and city center at such a low price. The room was basic but clean, and included breakfast, which made it an even better deal.
🛏️ Room Tips
Rooms facing the street or train station might get a bit noisy, so I recommend asking for a quiet room facing the courtyard if you’re a light sleeper.

PPengguna TetamuWhen I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe.
The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort.
As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne.
When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time.
Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!

Hotel ini telah diubah suai dalam beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini. Keadaan asasnya agak baik, persekitaran persekitarannya baik dan terbuka, dan ia sangat mudah untuk memandu dan meletak kenderaan. Bertentangan dengan hotel adalah kawasan membeli-belah yang besar di Cologne, dengan banyak pasar raya besar gaya kilang, pusat beli-belah dan kedai kelengkapan rumah. Terdapat stesen kereta api bawah tanah berdekatan, dan lebih mudah untuk menaiki kereta api bawah tanah ke bandar.

Ppurplemoon7the room is on the smaller side but more than enough for a solo traveller. the bed is super comfortable, probably the most comfortable hotel bed i've ever slept in. everything is clean and there is air conditioning. right next to the river and close to the old town and cathedral.

MMichaela RegineFür Service könnte ich zehn Punkte vergeben. Ich hätte das Hotel mit der Therme gewählt um dort mit meiner Familie meinen Geburtstag zu feiern. Wir kamen wir zu früh an durften aber trotzdem einchecken. Im Restaurant wurden wir sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich bedient und als man feststellte dass mein Geburtstag bevorsteht oder sogar einen Tisch extra dekorieren. Alles in allem war das Essen auch sehr gut die Therme war sensationell. Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit und bedanken uns herzlich.

PPengguna TetamuThe location of the hotel is good. Rooms were generally clean but pretty narrow when you go to the toilet. Beds were comfortable. When I asked they gave us kettle and glass. This is also a nice act!
If you check in earlier you have to pay 30 euros extra. Therefore we arrived at the hotel at 15:06, and the receptionist told that they haven’t made the room ready for third person. Our reservation did include third person from beforehand. When we entered the room, it was so hot that it was not possible to breathe normally. My guess they just forgot about us entering, even though we came beforehand to put our luggage and reminded them we would be back for 3pm.
