PPengguna TetamuThis is such a lovely small hotel. The location is perfect—we could easily walk to all the main attractions in town. The room was very clean and cozy. I especially loved the 'puk-pik' (super cute) breakfast they served in the morning; it was clearly made with a lot of heart. Although the price was a bit on the higher side during my stay, the overall experience and convenience were well worth it!

PPengguna Tetamu시설은 다소 오래돼보였지만 전반적으로 깔끔하게 관리하신게 보였어요. 다다미방이 널찍하니 좋았고, 프론트에 계신 모든 직원분들이 친절했어요. 내부 사우나와 외부 온천 두가지가 있었는데 시설이 작은편이지만 제가 이용할 땐 다른 이용객들이 없었어서 동생이랑 둘이 편하게 온천을 즐겼어요. 저희는 반려견은 없었지만 애견인분들을 위한 다양한 공간도 있는 것 같았습니다. 게로역까지는 도보로 12분정도 걸리는데 눈이 많이오고 캐리어도 있어서 샌딩서비스를 이용하고 싶었는데 기사분이 없다고 하셔서 이용하지 못했어요. 대신 직접 택시를 잡아주셔서 다행히 역까지 편하게 이동했습니다. 방 안에 유카타를 비롯해서 다양한 어메니티가 있었고 숙소 바로옆에 게로푸딩, 버터샌드, 여러 기념품샵 소품샵이 있었어요. 로손도 도보 5분거리에 있어서 좋았습니다. 아 근데 층간소음? 방음이 잘 안되고 윗사람들이 걸으면 방 전체가 막 울려요ㅋㅋㅠㅠ 이 점 빼고는 다 너무 좋았습니다.

PPengguna TetamuIt’s a small Onsen with few rooms but that made our stay more relaxing and comfortable. Attentive services with an eagerness to explain everything to you despite the language barrier. The outdoor private Onsen was a plus that we enjoyed very much. The downside was the aged room and toilet we got. However, this was compensated by the food that was absolutely fantastic and unsuspectly filling 😋

CConstanceThis appears to be a family-run business with warm hearted hospitality. The hosts didn’t speak much English but we managed to use a digital translator to communicate.
Am grateful the hotel provides free shuttle pick up from Hida Osaka Train station. We had to get our previous hotel to ring Senyukan to inform them
about the expected timing of our train arrival. We appreciate the immense patience of the hotel shuttle driver. She put up with 2 changes of timing of our train arrival because of significant delays from the Highway bus from Nagoya to Takayama where we had to connect to Hida Osaka Train station.
We had booked to stay 3 nights and loved every moment of the stay. The kaiseki Hida Beef dinner had the perfect balance of sweet/sour/ salty taste. Each dinner also had a cooked fish either grilled, steamed or poached, in addition to sashimi ( raw seafood). The soup was exquisitely flavourful as was the freshly prepared salad and tempura ( deep fried vegetable fritters). All the food items were plated with pleasing artistry.
We had booked the hotel for its hotsprings which lived up to their therapeutic reputation. Although the sex-segregated pools were for hotel guests,
we found ourselves often the only ones who used them at the time. Highly recommend this hotel for its affordability and wonderful value-added hospitality.
The only downside of the hotel is that the wifi signal is not always stable in the guest rooms. But wifi is more accessible from the hotel lobby.

PPengguna TetamuThis is the best onsen hotel we’ve stayed in, among those we’ve stayed in for the past 12 years! We stayed here for 2 nights.
We’ve extremely grateful to the hosts for their outstanding service and hospitality from the heart. Loved the thoughtfully varied menu for each meal.
The establishment is spotlessly clean and excellently maintained. Each morning, our towels and yukata (hotel gowns) were replaced. So were the amenities ( fragrant green tea packs, snacks). The housekeeping staff even offered to mop our rooms after only one night’s stay.
The wifi was also fast and sustained well in the guest room and public lounge areas. There are facilities to cater to a wide range of age groups from seniors like us and children too. There were ample resting chairs in the lounge and on the way to the historian’s well as guest rooms.
The best facility was the hot springs! They are
exactly as depicted in the hotel website. Numerous indoor pools of various temperature all have the renowned ‘beautifying’ odorless alkaline water. My skin felt so smooth and moisturized after only one soak.
What’s more the hot springs stay open for in-house guests from 10.30 am to 11 pm and day-trip visitors from 10.30 am to 8 pm. In-house guests can also use the hotsprings early from 6 to 9 am. There is a European dry sauna as well as wet steam rooms in both make and female hotspring areas.
We would love to stay here again!

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is settled in the middle of Gero Hot Spring town, short walk from the train station and can also be reached via bus from Kamikochi area.
The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. You can feel the spirit of older times in this hotel with a lot of beautifully selected decoration pieces.
The manager showed us around and even offered us a new room since I accidentally booked one without shower (we declined that offer since we only wanted to stay for one night). That’s why we used the Onsen area for showering which is beautiful and includes all amenities. View above Gero and including an outside Onsen area to watch the sunrise.
The staff was very friendly, the manager even drove us to the bus station since we forgot our jackets in the bus. The bar is well-equipped and a great place for a drink or two.
One of the best parts was the breakfast. Never had such a good Japanese breakfast before- delicious, served in a private room, beautifully arranged. Next time we want to try their dinner :-)
We felt like family and I can recommend anyone going to Gero to stay at this great hotel! Thanks again for your hospitality!

- I had a disappointing experience with one of the drivers. He was very rude and had a bad attitude, especially when we couldn't understand his Japanese. Even though we didn't understand everything he said, his demeanor made us feel uncomfortable and negatively impacted our stay.
**Pros:**
- The hotel's location is very convenient, with shuttle service available.
- The views from the hotel are beautiful.
- The facilities are well-equipped and very clean.
Overall, while the hotel has many positive aspects, the encounter with the driver left a sour note on our experience. I hope management can address this issue to ensure future guests have a more pleasant experience.

It is a matter of one's choice in spending more money for better choices or not, as the price range in Gero can be 100% difference for the best and those with much lower price. All onsen are old in the hardware facilities, but traditional.

JJin-chanAlthough the building itself seems to be old, but the room was quite spacious and decently clean. We had a relaxing stay at this hotel with their very comfortable beds. Unfortunately, the hotel is not in the Gero town center, and you need to travel by car or taxi. Nevertheless, the onsen bath was very good with alkaline onsen bath soothing the body after a tiring walk around Gero town. The buffet dinner was very good which includes all-you-can-eat crab legs.
