Hotel Gero dengan Tempat Letak Kereta

Onsen hotel offering excellent service, superb food and privacy. Service was next to nothing, staff offered Salmon sushi and malt tea at no extra cost as I choosed to skip breakfast to catch up with early bus schedule. The room was very clean and quite spacious. Dinner and breakfast was in Kaiseki style. The food was excellent, particularly the sashimi and the Hida beef (both grilled and sukiyaki).The use of local ingredients added to the uniqueness of the experience. The onsen was not big but cozy. Considering the hotel has about 20 rooms only, it offer very good privacy and I enjoyed the public bath twice alone in my 2 days stay. Rental private bath was a good surprise and worth to try if you are traveling in pair. Location is a bit far from train and bus station up on the top of the hill, but the the pickup service and a nice view of the mountain compensated for that.

Nice hotel and good experience in Gero. The hotel does not have too many facilities but hot spring is ok. Location is right next to the station, very convenient.

Saya menyewa kereta dan pergi. Agak sukar untuk sampai ke sana tanpa bas. Saya rasa ada bas, tetapi ia mengambil masa kira-kira 20 minit dengan kereta dari Stesen Gero Central. Terdapat sebuah kolam air panas terbuka dan kemudahannya bagus. Saya menginap selama satu malam dan makan malam dan sarapan pagi juga lazat. Ia mungkin lebih baik untuk pasangan atau sekumpulan rakan daripada pergi bersendirian. Terdapat juga dewan jamuan yang besar, tetapi saya tidak menggunakannya jadi saya tidak pasti.

Stayed there for two nights. In-room onsen was good, staff at reception excellent. Food was simply terrible. Rice was cold (personally it’s simply unacceptable in any Japanese restaurant except for sushi may be?), the chef seems to enjoy making fusion dishes (and except that they were unappetising). To name but a few, we had strawberry mousse for starter, tofu (which was bitter) and pickles with miso for mains, and who’d put diced apple in an apple sorbet?? (Felt as though I was biting into ice cubes). The waitress was also extremely impatient and rushed us through our meals (we finished our dinners within 35 minutes, breakfasts 20). I honestly cannot recommend this hotel. Sorry, but no.

和隔壁富岳是姐妹酒店，還沒走到門口酒店的老爺爺就過來確認是否是入住的，人員名字都對上了，走的時候也是，預約了穿梭巴士，很早老爺爺就在門口等着我們，我們出門逛還貼心的為我們準備地圖，老一輩日本人服務真的沒的説，早晚餐有專門的房間吃，味道還不錯，房間有私湯，打開窗户就是户外私湯嘿嘿，還有樓上樓下幾個湯池，老婆一天泡了三遍，把所有湯池都泡了，下呂不大，就適合慢慢的逛半天，吃一些小吃，回酒店品嚐美食，看看雪，泡泡湯

It was a comfortable, family-run Ryokan style inn. There is free parking for those who drive. It is also walking distance from the train station. We arrived after dark and the staff told us there was no more dinner, so they recommended us a dinner place nearby. For breakfast which was included, it was a full set and really delicious Japanese platter. We ate to our heart’s content. The onsen is located on the basement and the 4th floor, I like it specially for the rooftop onsen. The men and women onsen will swap at certain timings to allow each gender to enjoy the facilities at the rooftop. They give clear instructions on a piece of paper, and you just need to look at the colour of the cloth hanging outside the onsen. The hotel is located near the town centre, so you can walk around easily.

시설은 다소 오래돼보였지만 전반적으로 깔끔하게 관리하신게 보였어요. 다다미방이 널찍하니 좋았고, 프론트에 계신 모든 직원분들이 친절했어요. 내부 사우나와 외부 온천 두가지가 있었는데 시설이 작은편이지만 제가 이용할 땐 다른 이용객들이 없었어서 동생이랑 둘이 편하게 온천을 즐겼어요. 저희는 반려견은 없었지만 애견인분들을 위한 다양한 공간도 있는 것 같았습니다. 게로역까지는 도보로 12분정도 걸리는데 눈이 많이오고 캐리어도 있어서 샌딩서비스를 이용하고 싶었는데 기사분이 없다고 하셔서 이용하지 못했어요. 대신 직접 택시를 잡아주셔서 다행히 역까지 편하게 이동했습니다. 방 안에 유카타를 비롯해서 다양한 어메니티가 있었고 숙소 바로옆에 게로푸딩, 버터샌드, 여러 기념품샵 소품샵이 있었어요. 로손도 도보 5분거리에 있어서 좋았습니다. 아 근데 층간소음? 방음이 잘 안되고 윗사람들이 걸으면 방 전체가 막 울려요ㅋㅋㅠㅠ 이 점 빼고는 다 너무 좋았습니다.

Kolam air panas itu sangat menenangkan, dan bilik-bilik hotel luas dan selesa. Makanan yang disertakan dengan dua hidangan adalah mencukupi, dengan pelbagai pilihan bufet sarapan pagi dan makan malam. Satu-satunya kelemahan ialah banyak tangga di dalam hotel, yang mungkin sukar dinavigasi jika anda membawa cerek.

Although the building itself seems to be old, but the room was quite spacious and decently clean. We had a relaxing stay at this hotel with their very comfortable beds. Unfortunately, the hotel is not in the Gero town center, and you need to travel by car or taxi. Nevertheless, the onsen bath was very good with alkaline onsen bath soothing the body after a tiring walk around Gero town. The buffet dinner was very good which includes all-you-can-eat crab legs.

This appears to be a family-run business with warm hearted hospitality. The hosts didn’t speak much English but we managed to use a digital translator to communicate. Am grateful the hotel provides free shuttle pick up from Hida Osaka Train station. We had to get our previous hotel to ring Senyukan to inform them about the expected timing of our train arrival. We appreciate the immense patience of the hotel shuttle driver. She put up with 2 changes of timing of our train arrival because of significant delays from the Highway bus from Nagoya to Takayama where we had to connect to Hida Osaka Train station. We had booked to stay 3 nights and loved every moment of the stay. The kaiseki Hida Beef dinner had the perfect balance of sweet/sour/ salty taste. Each dinner also had a cooked fish either grilled, steamed or poached, in addition to sashimi ( raw seafood). The soup was exquisitely flavourful as was the freshly prepared salad and tempura ( deep fried vegetable fritters). All the food items were plated with pleasing artistry. We had booked the hotel for its hotsprings which lived up to their therapeutic reputation. Although the sex-segregated pools were for hotel guests, we found ourselves often the only ones who used them at the time. Highly recommend this hotel for its affordability and wonderful value-added hospitality. The only downside of the hotel is that the wifi signal is not always stable in the guest rooms. But wifi is more accessible from the hotel lobby.
