The cost of over $180 for the transfer felt exorbitant, especially given the condition of the vehicle and the service provided. Being transported in an older car, coupled with a driver who was not only unable to communicate in English but also constantly distracted by multiple ringing mobile phones, significantly detracted from our overall experience. Despite attempts to use Google Translate, communication was futile, and the incessant noise became a source of irritation. Given the high price, our expectations for the transfer service were not met, leading us to conclude that utilizing a service like „Grab“ for a fraction of the cost would be a far better option in the future. On a more positive note, the transfer service from the hotel to the airport was priced at $20, which felt more reasonable and within acceptable limits. Another significant issue was the noise level in our room. Situated on the top floor directly beneath the hotel's rooftop bar, the sound levels late into the night were intolerable. The booming music and lively atmosphere of the bar, while perhaps enjoyable for some, felt more like being in a nightclub than a hotel room. This was particularly unwelcome as we sought to rest and recover from the exhausting transfer earlier in the day. In conclusion, while Hotel Kvl boasts an excellent location and modern amenities that contribute to a comfortable stay, the high cost and poor execution of the transfer service from Sihanoukville, coupled with the disruptive noise from the rooftop bar, marred our experience. Future guests would do well to consider alternative transportation options and inquire about room placement to ensure a more tranquil stay.

ActivateC3 is a hidden gem in the Chrouy Changvar district. While it’s slightly removed from the hectic city center, the amenities make it a perfect sanctuary. I loved the saltwater swimming pool and the lush garden area, which are ideal for decompressing. The on-site restaurant and bar serve great food at fair prices, including a solid English breakfast. The dorms are spacious with privacy curtains, individual reading lights, and secure lockers. I also took advantage of the billiard tables and the fast 250+ Mbps Wi-Fi, which was perfect for getting some work done. For exploring, you can use their bicycle rentals or book local tours directly through the 24-hour reception. I enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is safe, comfortable, and conveniently situated in the Riverside district. It has a good cost performance (i.e. price-to-quality ratio). Not everything is perfect, but the staff makes up for it, they are friendly and helpful (special shout-out to Nita who is fantastic, she is the nicest person and she helped me with all my requests). I originally booked a basic room until I found out a few days ahead the room had no window (I did not read the description carefully enough), so I upgraded for a “standard double room” with window. The first room I moved into did not have hot water. The hotel was not able to fix it, so eventually they moved me to another room where the hot water worked, which was great. The room did not have a chair and desk, but I asked the staff and they brought one. At some point, Nita helped me arrange a laundry load. It was done overnight and cost 3 dollars, so it seems the laundry is outsourced to a nearby business. At night, the street can be a little loud, there are many bars, KTVs and nightclubs located here. But it did not bother me, I could sleep through it easily. Many of the bars have hordes of pretty women who, beginning at dusk, sit outside and come ask you to drink with them. They get your attention by shouting “hello”, “come here”, “handsome” and “bong” (mister) as you are walking by. In any event, this did not bother me, I never actually felt harassed and could come and go the hotel as I pleased. The description mentioned the room would have a minibar, but my room didn’t have one. Probably I could have asked for it, but I realized I didn’t need one. One morning, there was a visit by the police, they were checking visas and passports from all foreign hotel guests. This was unexpected, but it went smoothly. Overall, I’m very happy with my stay and would probably come here again. Not everything is perfect, but I give it 4.5 stars (4 stars for the price/quality/location plus an extra half-staff bonus for the staff, especially Nita).

The hotel is brilliantly located and has amazing views from the top floor. The rooms are large but with little hanging area. The beds are large and hard but comfortable. Room service and housekeeping is haphazard. Some days your room is serviced other days not. The staff are friendly, breakfasts are okay but limited choice of fresh fruit and veg. The pool area is crammed with around 10 beds squeezed in to one side of the terrace but do have shade. Great value and would likely return.

I stayed here a lot of times. every time chose room with breakfast. Rooms are clean, basically cheaper Rooms are on top floor (6). There is only one elevator. Breakfast will serve in Aurea Central hotel restaurant. so should cross the road which needs walking 1-2 minutes.

Turned up at 6am as arrived on the overnight bus. My 2 cabin cases were carried upstairs for me to my awaiting “pod”! It had a light, plug socket & usb socket and fan, clean bedding! I slept for 5 hours until I had to leave for my plane. Bed was comfy, slept like a baby. Didn’t have time to use the amenities but saw a pool, a bar, pool table, menus , plenty of games - looked like it would’ve been a fun time! Arrived at the airport and realised I’d left my backpack & laptop etc !!! Couldn’t find the telephone no: but sent a grab and the bar man helped locate it and I managed to get it before the flight! If only I’d had more time - looked fun !

Pros: Excellent value for the money. Hard to find better at this price point. The staff is attentive and helpful. 24-hour desk. Even the security guard, who probably doesn't get paid much, goes above and beyond to be of service and attentive. Reasonably clean. At least the linens are clean, even if some of the walls aren't. Another standout, is the breakfast. At this price point, it's rare to get a breakfast. But this breakfast is above average. It out performs some breakfasts I've had at much more expensive hotels. They have cereals, juice and coffee, some seasonal fruit. Fried eggs. But they also have a menu that changes from day to day with Asian style breakfast foods, fried rice or noodles. Some local Cambodian dishes. Soups or congee. Grilled vegetables or a variety of other interesting conditions. It varies from day to day. There are usually five or six warming trays with food. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and taste. Like I said, above average, especially at this price point. Hard to beat. I started thinking I should go back and get the breakfast sometime on its own merit, even if I'm not staying there. Overall. Well done. They are doing the best they can with the resources they have. And at this price point, it's hard to beat. Cons: The hotel shows some wear and tear; maintenance is always an issue in older buildings. It could use a refresh of paint. Some of the room configurations are a bit odd, where the bathroom door doesn't open all the way because of where they placed the sink and toilet. Occasionally, the title always will echo some sound from guests that haven't learned not to be loud late at night or early in the morning. But that's not the hotels fault that people aren't educated or respectful of others. The only negative part about this hotel location or the sketchy massage parlors that surround it. Some of them might offer legitimate services, but I get the impression that most of them are selling extra services based on the demeanor and dress of the people calling out to you as you walk by.

Nice hotel, comfortable bed, spacious room. Breakfast included. Polite staff. I arrived from the airport at 7:00 a.m., and reception said check-in wasn't until 2:00 p.m. (The website says 10:00 a.m.). They asked for an early check-in fee of $10.

Pool is not so clean, Trash aren’t pick up. staff are good and friendly. they have free laundry but the next problem is how to get it dry. i booked for 9nights and just stayed for 4nights. i asked them to help me have a refund for the remaining 5nights. but they kept on telling me they can’t do anything and won’t do a refund. well ofcourse they can if they only want but they take advantage in your change of plans. real PET FRIENDLY
