We reserved a suite and a connecting room for our children. It felt as if we were in a flat. We stayed one week. We asked for a view on the Royal Palace, which I highly recommend. Hotel is very new and extremely comfortable and luxurious, staff very friendly and professional. Special mention for Sotheavy Hem in the breakfast lounge, dynamic and always ready to help and to the enthusiastic Srini. As othet reviews mentioned hotel is ideally placed. Hotel was above my expectations and I can only recommend to stay there.

The Sokha hotel is an amazing place. An enormous hotel but with nothing going on. We arrived at 8pm and were upgraded to a suite. A huge room in a huge hotel but nobody else in the hotel? The venue was very clean, lots of staff all very friendly. The hotel is the wrong side of the river. On the other side it was buzzing with locals and tourists unlike the hotel sokha side which has only locals. Even the tuk-tuk drivers don’t want to go there. Breakfast the following morning was good. We paid less than £100 for this hotel, great value for a 5* hotel but Unfortunately lacking customers and therefor any sort of atmosphere !

Both day shift and night shift staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed here twice in a standard king room. Both our rooms had everything working just fine. Clean, fresh linens and excellent lighting. Segregated shower area with good hot water and pressure. The buffet breakfast for me was fried eggs/omelet, bacon and toast. Enough to last me all day. I used the hotel's taxi contact twice, to Sihanoukville and to the airport. Prices were equal to anything you can find online. I recommend. Your guaranteed a comfortable stay at this hotel.

On arrival I was slightly underwhelmed; the reception area is pretty basic. But the room was absolutely delightful, plenty of space, a superbly comfy bed, lovely views out over the river (and a balcony to enjoy it from) and stylish but simple decor. Spotlessly cleaned by the lovely housekeeping staff. I felt that I'd landed in heaven. Reception staff were super-helpful (although English was a bit limited) and breakfast (in the adjoining restaurant) was super. Staff were wonderful, the food selection was a bit limited I guess, but the service, quality of food and presentation made up for it. There aren't THAT many rooms, and I think I was probably lucky to be able to have been able to book at short notice just a day or two before my stay) and the price I paid was fantastically reasonable for the standard of accommodation. The rooftop bar/restaurant, with a bit of a breeze and a beer in the early evening was super too; with a wide range of locals and visitors. I should also add that the hotel is within a short tuk-tuk ride of all the major Phnom Penh attractions. Thank you so much, team. I hope very much to return some day, it was a splendid experience.

The apartments are very well appointed and modern and the staff were all friendly here. We had late arrival and early departure by train so the location of the apartments was perfect for us. It's also close to Raffles for a happy hour drink between 4-9pm. We had a two bedroom apartment that had ensuite bathrooms off each room and a central living area with couch, kitchen and breakfast bar style dining. It was nice to grab some breakfast supplies at the local minimart and have a leisurely breakfast on the couch after so many buffets during our travels. Everything was very clean and the housekeeping replaced water, coffee and intermittently towels each day. There are two sizeable pools and although overlooked there was never anyone around so they were very nice for an afternoon relax out of the heat. We also ate at The Shop which was a bit pricey but I enjoyed my quiche for a light lunch. Besides expensive nearby hotels or market square there aren't any local restaurants etc in close proximity, although if you walk via Wat Phnom to the riverfront I recommend Hummus house. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if arriving or departing by train

Yes, the Frangipani Hotel is good value for money. I was on a business trip for a non profit and had a small budget. The rooms were fine and the location was unbeatable. The reason I gave this hotel a five-star rating however is because of the staff. I had a problem involving hundreds of dollars cash and the night manager personally went out of his way to correct it. He went far and beyond and then refused to accept a tip. I will never forget that. Kindness earns stars.

Upon reaching the hotel, I was not pleased with the outside and the lobby was not what I had been hoping for. However, after I took the lift to my floor and stepped out, I was pleasantly surprised. It was very well renovated and the room was surprisingly clean and felt like it was more than what I had paid for. Definitely value for money. The breakfast was decent but of course not as same as those lavished 5 stars international hotels For the price that I have paid, I have nothing to complain about. The staffs could speak English and Mandarin so that made the communication much easier. Distance to the airport is about 10km. I will stay there again if I need to visit Cambodia next time.

This is a cockroach infested hotel in the red light district used by the older men to entertain their ***********. The New Season Riverside Hotel is described as a modern property within walking distance of key attractions. Personally I would describe it as a out dated, run down, cockroach infested flee pit located in the centre of the red light district which caters for elderly white men and their *********** (there is a notice in each room stating *********** are welcome as long as they sign in at reception and are not under age)! We were met by the owner who could not be bothered to welcome us or look up from his computer other than to demand our passport’s. The room was dirty with long black hairs everywhere, including on the sheets. We paid extra for a window. We got a window with glass but when we opened the dirty stained curtains we found the ‘window’ was bricked up on the outside. There was also no fridge or garden as described in the description on Booking.com. Throughout the night we had to listen to the other occupants entertaining their guests and rats running in the void between the ceiling and the floor above. As soon as we turned the lights out at night to get a good nights sleep we found our room (105 located directly above the hotel kitchen) was infested with cockroaches which crawled across the bed as we lay there. We photographed and caught several under glasses. There was no one on duty at night to complain to so we spent the whole night awake sat up in bed with the lights on keeping cockroaches off us. The following morning, when I complained about the window, no fridge, no garden and the cockroaches the manager just laughed. Later that morning I spoke directly to the owner who also laughed. When I insisted that it was not a laughing mater he started to shout at me and became threatening and aggressive. He made some excuse about the fault being with Booking.com who had overbooked his hotel. We saw few other guests so did not believe the hotel was fully booked and did not see what this had to do with the cockroach infection. We had booked for 3 nights, when we said we wanted to leave early, the owner refused to refund the remaining 2 nights. I attempted to cancel the remaining 2 nights on Booking.com but the cancelation policy meant that we would not receive a refund. In addition to the above, the stairs are used as storage areas for cleaning equipment and rubbish. The only way to access the upper floors is by a small lift. This makes the hotel a 5 storey fire trap. There is a 6 inch gap between the bed and wall so during the night the pillows fall on the floor leaving you without a pillow to sleep on but a ladder for the cockroaches to get at you. I’m in my late 50s and have travelled extensively across Asia This is without doubt the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. To start book the room for 1 week. When I called to book airport shuttle took 10 calls to reach anyone, then they wanted double normal price for shuttle $20. So I just got a tuk-tuk from airport only $8. When arrived at hotel and got in room the aircon did not work complained about for 2 days, never fixed. The towels and bedding were old and dirty looking. So after 2 days I ask for an early checkout and refund my remaining 5 days. I was told I need to talk to manager, after another 20 calls and no answer I gave up. I then called hotels.com and tried to get refund that way and they informed me they would have to call and get it approved from hotel. I was ok with that but then they informed me they could not get an answer on the phone either. All said and done I stayed 2 night ended up paying for 7 cause the hotel manager does not do their job. I recommend stay away from this hotel. There are plenty other hotels nicer and cheaper and happy to have you as a guest. STAY AWAY!

Tao residence is an apartment/type hotel that is well located on the side street across from the river. They have some apartments that actually overlook the river and some that overlooked the side street. The apartments are clean and well appointed. The staff is responsive courteous and professional. In particular manager miss chan kagna is a Hands-On manager that you can rely upon to help when needed. In my particular case Agoda was deceptive with their booking practice and changed the room type. Fortunately I caught this mistake but it was too late to assign my paid for room. I could have canceled but because of chan kagna I decided to keep the reservation as she was going to do the best she could to find me an appropriate room even though the hotel was sold out. I was assigned a double twin room number 301 and unless you have a particular need for a double twin I would find this to be the least desirable room in the hotel. The loft rooms are particularly nice and I find to be better value than the penthouse room. Because the entrance of the hotel is on the side street which intersects with the Riverwalk you're close enough to the action without being subjected to the noise of the night time scene a couple streets away. I would recommend this hotel but stay away from the double twin room unless that is the exact betting configuration that you need.

- No early check in available - Cannot accept debit card for deposit for room charges - Pay on arrival (not abnormal these days) - No security to prevent unauthorised people accessing room floors - Asked for payment for 7 year old son of resident to use the pool (child not staying) despite spending $100 in the pool bar area on food & beverage that day (either that or register him to stay and if so needed a passport - additional charge for room despite not needing extra bed and he was not staying anyway - he is a 7 year local he does not have a passport!!!!) - Service in pool area very slow - 10-15 mins for a beer and nearly an HOUR for a pizza. - When a child in the our company tried to eat a biscuit we were told it was not allowed as not purchased from them (despite again spending another over $100 in the pool bar area) - as a side note the next day I saw an adult blatantly eating a tin of potato crisps not purchased there and saw an empty 1/2 bottle of whiskey and bottle of coke in the waste bin in the toilet (clearly not purchased there) - but a child eating a biscuit in the company of adults spending money there is breaking the rules !!! - Wi-Fi intermittent for streaming - On checkout they said there was a minor stain ‘that would not wash out’ on bed clothes (which basically meant the room check involved a quick wipe with water leading to the conclusion it would not wash out - they wanted to charge for bedsheet but could not explain to me what they wanted ($) - in the end they said they had refunded my room deposit but it has not appeared on my card statement yet. My travel companion (who is local and persuaded me to visit her lovely country) & who is clearly very proud of it was very embarrassed at the impression this would give to a visitor! Thankfully she and the other locals and businesses offset the very negative impression given by this particular hotel!
