We stayed for 2 nights in La Reserve Bed and Breakfast. It was superb and Maria , our hostess, was so welcoming. Our room was The Grand Dame on the 2nd floor. It was beautiful. The room is huge with antique furniture and a big comfortable bed. The en-suite bathroom is also big with complimentary toiletries and all mod cons. The furnishings are all so opulent and in keeping with the ambiance of a time long gone. We loved it. The breakfasts were gorgeous. So varied and generous. Cereals, fruits, yogurts, cheeses, breads, tea, coffee etc etc. Dennis’s homemade cakes and croissants were so yummy. Thank you Maria and Dennis for the lovely time we spent with you. If we ever return to Philadelphia we would love to stay with you again.

Stayed 4 nights here in large apartment style room with sitting area and small kitchen. Old style furnishings and beautiful main dining room and sitting room area Breakfast was continental midweek with cereals, hard boiled eggs, selection of breads bagels and toast, pastries and fresh fruit. At weekend we had cooked omelette, home made cherry cake, filled croissants and avocado on bagels as well as midweek selection Very friendly staff and place spotlessly clean Location very safe and residential close to 2 great restaurants we ate at, Seafood Unlimited and Southgate with brilliant Happy Hour food and drink offers. Would definitely stay here again and the complimentary cocktails at their sister hotel The Morgan, was a great excuse to visit that hotel which was a beautiful hotel and again lovely staff

For the price of a hotel room, La Reserve gives you an apartment: Living Room, Bedroom and full Kitchen. High ceilings big windows and fully furnished, dishes and all, this is a two building side by side arrangement, breakfast is in one of them. At breakfast, we met really interesting people. Communal dining assures a conversation if someone breaks the ice. I was somewhat disappointed with the " continental" breakfast. But it was minor. Good bedding (very important) quiet, and secure. I liked the neighborhood too. Near Rittenhouse Square, near a nice grocery store, and on a tree lined residential block.

This is great value, I paid $128 per night. Short walk to Rittenhouse square, less than 10 minutes. Cute neighbourhood, felt very safe. Unique old decor, looks 19th century. Shared bathroom on same floor. Very friendly staff, great check in, very helpful. Breakfast is cereal, bagels, muffins etc. Bed was comfortable, large room. No tv or tea/ coffee facilities. Not a criticism, just info. Would stay again.

Beautiful townhouse in the center of old Philadelphia. Everyone was kind and helpful - the heat in my room didn't work and the manager came up immediately and fixed it. I was on the second floor, and hadn't thought about that when I booked a B and B because I wasn't expecting to have to carry up my heavy suitcase - but that's not what B and B's do! I had a huge room that was comfortable, a teeny bit outdated, but very pleasant. You go in and out of the building by pressing your hand on a clever security pad system, and they were very helpful about explaining it.

Maria and the staff were wonderful. We stayed in a suite which was spacious and well appointed. We had both the continental breakfast on Friday and the plated breakfast on Saturday, both were wonderful. Ed was especially helpful assisting with our check in and also recommending restaurants within walking distance. The location was great, we walked from Pine and 18th to the historical area around 5th and 6th streets - a very pleasant walk. My only suggestion would be to provide either a refrigerator for guests (one centrally located one would be fine) or an ice machine for cold beverages guests may wish to store.

We stayed for one night and had a good stay. The rooms are decorated beautifully and the shared shower room was perfect for our needs. Lugging suitcases up the stairs wasn’t fun but this is a period house so be warned there are no lifts! The mid week breakfast was ok, plain food and simple food but all perfectly edible. You share a large table with all guests. When we first walked in it felt really awkward as no one was speaking but a bit later several engaging guests arrived and the e atmosphere improved! One improvement would be a fridge to keep the water cold.

I was in Philadelphia, unexpectedly, for a week and found La Reserve for the last night of my stay. I wish I had been there all week. It's a great B and B: the two heritage homes are just beautiful and have a lot of old Philadelphia charm. The suite I had was enormous and was a great value. Breakfast is friendly with a good offering of things like bagels, yogurt, cereals, good coffee, juices and so on that are all good quality. Marie, the host, is wonderful and friendly. The location is excellent: 5 minutes, if that, from Rittenhouse Square and easy walks to a lot of restaurants, shops, bars, cafes.

If you stay anywhere in Center City Philadelphia you need to stay at La Reserve!!! Suites are amazing very well done. Total comfort! Fantastic choices at breakfast and weekend stays breakfast is over the top. Safe beautiful area of the city.
