Starlite Motel & Suites

Huge room with everything you could possibly need to feel at home. Beautiful setting with mountain views. It reminded me of the old school motels of yesteryear. The beds were a little soft for my taste and I wish the windows could open to get fresh air but all in all a nice stay.

It's right off Route 28, but it's set back nicely. It's kind of a worn place, but sweetly appointed. My room was clean and had a sweet and functional kitchen (please install pulls on the cabinets). I couldn't get the toaster to work, but that might have been me. There's a back door out to a sort of semi-common area. It's a bit awkward coming outside to have a cup of coffee and someone is already out there, ten feet away, smoking a cigarette. What do you say? But it's pretty back there. The fire pit is lovely, stocked with chopped wood, and they've installed those goofy starry laser lights to shine into the woods behind, which in this case is strangely mesmerizing. And perhaps it's a bear deterrent? Like with all old-style roadside motels, much of the experience is determined by how the other guests surrounding you behave. I would think it might be rowdy during ski season.

Clean, comfortable stay in a location close to numerous area trailheads and towns. The kitchenette with full size fridge and a deck out back was an added convenience, allowing us to quickly eat breakfast and make an early hiking start time.

This is a cool place. This not a room service type if place but it is cool. Our room had a kitchen with a stove, but the best was the area out back. Every room has a table, umbrella and BBQ. There is a great fireplace with wood. We made a great fire. There is also a really screen house. We never saw an employee. There was a note on the office door telling what number room we had. It's a very cool place of you are looking for a laid back type of experience . One complaint... the roku remote in room 8 is broke.

Bed is comfy, rooms are clean, enjoyed the back space area and fire pit. TV was a bit confusing to use at first, but we managed. Wish there were more eating spots that appealed nearby, but the ones we did go to were great. We are already trying to book our next adventure there.

It was a one night stay on Labor Day weekend. We got in real late and left in the morning, so we didn't use the place for anything but sleeping. Each unit has a very nice barbq & picnic table area outback and there is a firepit outback also. The kitchen area has the door to the back area. The back area faces a nice wooded area so it's real peaceful to sit outside the kitchen backdoor and drink coffee in the morning, which we did. Each unit has two chairs by the back door. We didn't use any of the other outdoor amenities. The bedroom was in very good condition and the beds were very comfortable. Never used the TV. The kitchen is in very good condition, but we only used the coffee pot and the Tea pot. Complimentary coffee is given to you. The bathroom had a new toilet and a new vanity which all looked and worked great. We had lots of fluffy white towels and toiletries were provided. There is a hair dryer in the bathroom but I didn't use it. The bathroom needs more work. There was some loose tiles on the wall held on by tape, so hopefully that was a temporary fix and they will be gluing those back on. The bathtub was a bit tired looking and although the plumbing looked new, for some reason the shower temperature would not hold steady. You could be taking a warm shower and then for some reason it would go to cool, and then back to warm. All three of us noticed this fluctuating temperatures. We never met the owners, but they were very communicative and made it very easy to go to our room very late at night without any bother in doing so. All in all, I would recommend this place as a nice stay.

I traveled with a friend to a wedding at the Full Moon Resort and couldn't locate this Motel. I tried calling and there was no reception. I stayed at the Margratville Motel the night before. When I couldn't locate Starlight by GPS, I ended up lodging at the Emerson Resort. I deserve a full refund!!

The room was very clean and there were “extra” amenities I thought were thoughtfully provided (travel shampoo/conditioner/body lotion, coffee/filters, creamers, cans of soup, etc). Kitchen was a great convenience. Water pressure was great. Towels were big and comfy. Unfortunately, due to storm Debbie, we lost power for most of the stay. Room was well lit in the daytime, even without power and the owner was wonderful to work with. I would definitely stay here again if in the area. We didn’t get to use the back deck or back area/grills, but a meal on our back deck would have been lovely.
