This is my second times to be here in Porto I know this hotel is new this year and everything seems very perfect for me, the environment, the service from the reception, the attitude for from all the colleges as it belongs to Marriott group I can confirm the hotel level is satisfactory to the group, but the most critical point for me is the water flow from the tap in the washing basin and also the showerhead. It’s extremely slow and nearly to 0 I had a really bad experience when I took a shower, and also when I would like to wash something from the washing basin  I feel a pity for it I hope next time the hotel can improve it otherwise, I will not take my 3rd time here

An obvious first class hotel. The room was exceptionally appointed and very spacious. The bathroom was stunning with all marble, separate water closet, shower and double sink vanity. Two closets for hanging and multiple drawers. Very quiet when windows were closed but opened to get the Porto city vibe, when desired. Great location and easily walkable to river or around town. The breakfast buffet was plentiful and delicious. The hotel team was gracious and helpful. The gym was small but had everything you needed to maintain some workout routine on vacation! We didn't enjoy the spa but toured it, including the indoor pool, and it was beautiful. The bar was cozy for a pre-evening drink and the staff was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel as it will make your Porto experience one to remember!

The hotel was beautiful and in a very nice location of Porto. We had an incredibly nice gentleman greet us upon arrival at 2am. I wish I had gotten his name because he was extremely informative and helpful and gave me a wealth of helpful advice about Porto. The room was beautiful and quiet and the beds were extremely comfortable. I also appreciated that our room was very clean. The only drawback to this hotel was the breakfast. While the food was delicious, the servers lacked etiquette. We arrived on our fist day to breakfast at 10:45am, knowing they closed at 11. However, when we arrived no one offered to get us coffee cups or silverware. I had to do that myself awkwardly while they stood around. We proceeded to get our breakfast and about 10:50 they said they were closing. That was fine as but the way they spoke to us was rather rude. Afterward, mind you it’s not even 11, everyone disappeared. It was just a completely awkward and weird experience. We stayed at several other Pestana hotels and did not have this kind of experience.

4dias em família. O atendimento foi espetacular do início ao fim. Sempre muito atentos. Quartos com camas muito confortáveis e bem isolados do barulho. Têm estacionamento fora do hotel, mas é 1min de distância e o valor diário de 10€, o que é um excelente preço tendo em conta o que se pratica na zona. O rooftop é bom e têm algumas mini festas que são agradáveis (e acabam às 21:30), por isso é óptimo. A limpeza dos quartos é impecável e não tenho mais nada a apontar. Só não experimentei o pequeno-almoço por ser um valor demasiado alto para os preços de um pequeno-almoço normal. A repetir de certeza!

Stayed 4 nights upon arriving in Porto. For a 3 star hotel the property is very clean and quiet. Check in was easy. Rooms are clean and offer a closet with a safe, a kettle and tea/coffee service, a small fridge that is stocked but still room to put a beer, wine bottle or water bottle in to chill. Several outlets but no usb ports. Bathroom has a bidet. Shower had good water pressure. It’s actually a tub/shower combination. Only thing missing was wash cloth. Didn’t get one in either of my Portugal hotels. The breakfast is outstanding, Starts at 7. Several options from eggs to pancakes, side dishes, so many fresh breads, cereal, fancy coffee machine, fresh juices. There is also a bar at the hotel but we didn’t visit it. Next door is a 3 store mall with a full service American size grocery store to buy water, snacks, wine etc. at very affordable prices. One block away is the Mercado Bom Success, an upscale food court. We ate dinner there twice. The hotel is in an area called Villa Nova so a 30 to 40 minute walk from the historical center. The metro is 10 to 15 minutes away, Casa de Musical stop, which will take you to the historical center in 15 minutes. I would stay here again if ever in Porto.

Abbiamo soggiornato due notti in questo hotel. Lo stile è retrò ma con tocchi di modernità, l’ho trovato esteticamente carino. Non essendoci l’ascensore è un po’ scomodo per le valigie. Il personale molto cortese e simpatico 😀 La camera tripla assegnata era abbastanza datata e non molto spaziosa. Il condizionatore un po’ complesso da accendere (il telecomando non aveva lo scomparto delle pile. Le pile erano tenute con dello scotch 😅). Il bagno piccolo ma funzionale. Il lavandino perdeva e personalmente ho avuto difficoltà a lavarmi perché i set del doccia schiuma consisteva in buste da 10ml l’una…. Vi conviene comprare un docciaschiuma. La colazione l’ho trovata molto buona! C’erano dolci tradizionali e artigianali, non le solite cose confezionate. E sempre rifornita. Personalmente non abbiamo usufruito del loro parcheggio perché nella via di fronte, a nemmeno 100 metri credo, abbiamo trovato parcheggio non a pagamento. Nella zona mi sembra di aver visto molti parcheggi gratuiti 😁 come detto da altri è molto comoda con la fermata della metro.

We had to make a last minute booking. Our main criteria for the hotel was cleanliness, Based on the reviews this hotel was what we were looking for. We gave it a try and weren't disappointed. Hotel was very clean indeed. Rooms felt a bit small, but they were nicely decorated. Hotel was located about 20-25 min walking distance from the city center. We didn't mind to walk. Most of the time we were returning back to the hotel after 9 pm, and we never felt unsafe walking in that area. Free breakfast was a pleasant bonus. Breakfast was sufficient. I just wish they had a slight variety. We stayed there for 4 nights and they offered almost the same food every day. Another room for improvement is balcony furniture, Our room had a balcony, with two cushioned chairs on it. We checked in to the hotel same day after the rain, during our stay we were never able to spend time on the balcony, because the sits were soaking wet. Everyone who was working there was great and extremally helpful. All our concerns were taken seriously and we always received maximum help and attention. Special huge thank you to the guy working the evening shift! He was amazing. Sorry, I can't remember his name. I would stay there again and would recommend this hotel.

Absolutely delightful stay at the Hotel Jaguar for my birthday. The hotel was exactly as described at booking and exceeded my expectations. From checking in to checkout, I experienced professionalism, courteous, and friendly hospitality. I didn't have breakfast in the restaurant, opting to make use of the complementary fruit plate in the room for a breakfast in bed the following morning. Chose to have dinner at the hotel in the evening, which offered a set menu with a choice of dishes that was extremely generous and reasonably priced. It's somewhere I will definitely stay again should I return to Porto.

The good things, friendly and helpful staff, clean room. The awful: We got a disabled room, not sure why, but it meant the bathroom was a wet room, so floor was always wet. The toilet was too high, the sink too low! The light came on automatically, but the timer was set for 4 seconds only, even when showering it kept going off and on. During the night it would go on with the extraction fan for no reason. We did complain and were told an engineer would correct it…..never did! The room and bed were very small, no storage at all, we had a kettle and cups, but no Coffee or Tea, no spoon but there was a knife! I don’t know how you would ever get a wheelchair up the three steps into the hotel, from the narrow street? The hotel was locked morning and early evening, it was only because another guest was there, we knew about the side gate entrance. Car parking, was a tatty, near derelict private garage across the street. WiFi was poor, kept going off!

The Lounge Inn is what it says on the tin: a guesthouse. Literally a place to use as a base to explore Porto offering just the essentials. Let’s start with the location: though not central, the Lounge Inn is a good compromise between distance and cost as prices are very reasonable compared to similar, more centrally located properties. There’s a metro station, Marquês, located just 5 minutes away on foot, or you can walk to all the main sights in approx 30 minutes. It’s a pleasant walk down the hill and I’ve actually enjoyed that part. However, at the end of a long day walking, catching the metro offered a very welcome relief to my sore feet! The area around the Lounge Inn is pretty uninspiring: there are a few cafes and a supermarket and that’s it really. Rooms are named after wines (I think!). I stayed in room Rosè on the first floor. Rosè was incredibly tiny with a large double bed, two bedside tables and a clothes rack which served its purpose despite being a bit flimsy. Bathroom is also on the small side, but has everything you need. There’s a very small patio you can get out on with a view on the spire of a nearby church. As nice as it is, the bell tolling every hour is a little annoying. Luckily it stops past 9pm. There’s AC in the room and a VERY tiny TV featuring Portuguese channels only. I don’t mind as I don’t watch TV but surely in this day and age it isn’t too hard to get sat TV with the bare minimum number of international channels? Oddly enough, rooms have no keys as such but the lock/open via a keypad. It’s handy so that you don’t need to remember to bring your keys with you, but it didn’t feel safe (maybe I’m old school!) Now, on the negative sides, on first look the room seemed very clean, but, on closer inspection, I saw many cobwebs and dust on surfaces. There were also 4 spiders and I spotted a couple of small ants and several hairs here and there. It would have helped if the room had been cleaned with a bit more care. The room has no safe and no coffee/tea making facilities. Fine, it’s a guesthouse, however these little touches would have made a huge difference - I had to go grab the only spoon that seemed to be available to eat some yogurt I bought from the store. Bed is a little on the hard side but I don’t mind. The pillows however are not for me - too soft. The real issue in this place is the noise - from the inside. The walls are PAPER THIN and it didn’t help I seemed to have elephants in the room above me stomping their feet at 2am. I’m not kidding when I say it felt like an earthquake in bed. Structurally, the building seems weak and it needs better soundproofing. If you are a light sleeper like me bring some earplugs! Staff seems lovely - I only met a lady who seems to be doing everything from reception duties to cleaning. Sadly, she doesn’t speak any language other than Portuguese. Absolutely not her fault, but you need to have languages if you run a tourist guest house. I speak Italian, Engl
