Hotel berhampiran Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Perpétuo Socorro, Porto

Me and my family are planning a holiday to Algarve, but as direct flights don’t run everyday to Faro, we decided to make a 3-day short trip at Porto before heading to Algarve. We saw Almada Domus on Expedia and decided to stay there as the photos look pretty and it describes its location as very central to all tourists attractions in Porto. Unfortunately, after we made the booking we realised that the hotel is actually located some blocks away from the main streets and requires a short climb uphill to get to, which will be a challenge for my husband who suffers from recurring Achilles tendinitis that makes walking difficult and would require walking aides. On the same day, within 2 hours after making our booking, I emailed the hotel to enquire about cancellation. I explained to Fabio (which I assume is the manager/ owner of the hotel) about my situation and at that time he seemed to be willing to accommodate my request but advised me to contact Expedia directly. I then spoke with Expedia and was told that they can do a free cancellation upon confirming with the hotel that they’re ok with it. Over 20 emails back and forth with the hotel since last evening, and this morning Fabio abruptly changed his tone and said he will not allow a free cancellation and we will have to pay a 50% penalty, as the booking is now “outside the 2-hour cancellation window”, and it would be “unfair to other guests” (even though I did contact the hotel about cancelling within 2 hours after making my booking, hoping to minimise the impact on their business). I was also told by Fabio that “Porto is a hilly city like Lisbon, which are not friendly for people with walking difficulties” and said but we can Uber everywhere…. I was very shocked with his last comments and obviously disappointed that he was unwilling to help even though he said he would at the beginning when I first contacted.

The hotel is located next to the TRINDADE metro station which leads to the airport and which connects the différents metro lines which is very practical. The staff is of high quality and very welcoming and friendly. I have already stayed in this hotel in 2020. The room is very clean and well appointed. I recommend this hotel

L’hotel è bello e facilmente raggiungibile dall’aeroporto con la metro. E’ in una zona comoda e il centro si può raggiungere a piedi in una ventina di minuti o con autobus in pochi minuti. La stanza non è molto grande, ma comoda e ben accessoriata e con bagno adeguato. La prima colazione è varia e di ottima qualità sia per il salato, che per il dolce. Unica pecca è stata che un pomeriggio in cui eravamo di passaggio in hotel, qualcuno addetto alla pulizia della stanza (peraltro già avvenuta) è entrato senza bussare. Alle nostre rimostranze, il concierge non si è scusato.

Beautiful boutique hotel in great location. I did not really expect it would be so good. From the professional welcome to modern and comfy room, everything was just great! The price was quite high, but I think it was worth paying. We haven't taken breakfast, but there is a great place named Maria limão lovemade literally next door and I recommend having a bit there!

El servicio del hotel fue increíble, muy buen desayuno, la habitación estaba súper bien, la cama súper cómoda y el baño era grande. Está muy bien ubicado yo que iba a todos lados andado no tardaba mucho

Great concept, excellent transport links. Really liked the vibe and local neighbourhood had good places to eat

Hostal con una ubicación de 10. Todo en muy buen estado, muy nuevo. Habitaciones cómodas y funcionales: la cama tiene cortina para tu intimidad y protegerte de la luz, enchufe, USB y luz que puedes encender cuando la necesites. Áreas comunes agradables. El personas es muy servicial, atento y agradable! Cosas a mejorar: algunos servicios básicos son de pago como toalla para ducha o taquilla. Se agradeceria que proporcionen candado para la cajonera para maletas.

Outdoor pool for hot days amazing, restaurant with tasty food and drinks. we bought a boat trip to the 7 bridges, the reception arranged the trip for us. room very clean, we stayed for 4 days and the room was already clean when we arrived

Great location close to the Metro, although a bit noisy as there is construction outside and a barking next door. The rooms are tiny with minimal amenities. This is not a 4 star hotel as our package promised. Just a heads up, they charge you for extra coffee pods. Staff here is professional and very helpful-they wear many hats! They helped us book an amazing tour. Walking distance to shopping, an amazing indoor food court, and grocery stores. The breakfast room is very nice, and has good selections.
