"I recently stayed at Bluewater Maribago and had an overall pleasant experience. The resort offers a relaxing atmosphere with strong hospitality standards and several standout features, though there are also areas that could benefit from improvement. What I Liked 1. Excellent service and hospitality, especially at the Oyster Bar. The staff were attentive, warm, and professional, which truly elevated the dining experience. 2. Newly refurbished modern rooms that feel fresh, clean, and well-designed for comfort. 3. Convenient buggy service around the property, which makes getting around easy and enjoyable. 4. Lifeguards stationed at all pools and swimming areas, providing reassurance and a strong sense of safety for guests. 5. Anuma Spa’s ambience and treatment selection, which offer a relaxing environment with a wide range of spa services to choose from. Areas for Improvement 1. Breakfast management during peak hours needs significant improvement. Around 8:30 AM, the breakfast area becomes very busy, and food replenishment is slow. For example, while there are three hot steamers dedicated to eggs, bacon — a hot favorite — is served on a small plate that gets wiped out within seconds. Food supply and quality control during peak periods should be better managed to ensure consistency. The bread selection, however, is excellent and deserves recognition. 2. Security procedures may unintentionally compromise guest privacy. Guests are frequently asked to state their room number when leaving the lobby, and again when entering through the guardhouse — first to taxi drivers and then to security officers. This means multiple strangers may overhear room numbers, which raises safety and privacy concerns. A more discreet verification process would enhance guest security. 3. Spa promotions for in-house guests are lacking. While the spa experience is excellent, there are currently no exclusive perks for staying guests. Introducing options such as an early bird discount (e.g., 10:00 AM–3:00 PM) or curated half-day and full-day “head-to-toe recharge” packages would be attractive. The spa pricing is relatively high compared to comparable standard spas outside the hotel, so value-added incentives for in-house guests would make the experience even more appealing. Overall, Bluewater Maribago offers a comfortable and well-maintained resort experience with strong service standards. With improvements in breakfast management, privacy-focused security procedures, and enhanced spa promotions for in-house guests, the resort could further elevate its guest experience."

"I have been using Costabella for nearly 20 years and have always considered it a pleasant, well maintained hotel. In fact I even got married here! However, during my most recent stay, the experience fell noticeably short of expectations. We booked a poolside room and, after check in, I was genuinely surprised to find that the room was on the third floor. Based on my many previous stays, I had always understood poolside rooms to be those adjacent to the pool at ground level. If you are booking a poolside room, be aware that this may not be the case and expectations should be managed accordingly. The room itself was a little dated in style, but it was clean, comfortable, and well looked after. Housekeeping was consistent throughout the stay, which helped offset the older décor. The pool area is relatively small but generally well maintained. Unfortunately, it was extremely crowded throughout the day due to the large number of day pass visitors. As a result, there were no chairs or loungers available for hotel guests for most of the day, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the beach area was clean and pleasant. The food was the main let down. The buffet breakfast would rate no more than 4 out of 10. Much of the food had not been replenished, including empty juice and coffee stations, and what remained was cold and unappetising. However, it was better on the second day. Dinner was equally disappointing. Several main courses were served cold and had to be sent back to the kitchen twice. In the end, we cancelled two seafood dishes altogether, as reheating raised concerns about food quality and safety. The steak, which was once a highlight of Costabella for me, was extremely tough and far below the standard I have previously enjoyed. Overall, Costabella still has many positive qualities, but this stay did not reflect the standards I have previously associated with the resort and this will be my last visit. Unless the quality of the food and the management of guest capacity improve, I would find it difficult to recommend Costabella based on this recent experience."

"This is a wonderful hotel for families the pools and facilities are fantastic and great for kids and families. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. On check in you do have to deposit 2000 pesos per night, but while you are eating at the restaurant you can charge it to your room and pay out of the deposit. There is not much outside the resort so most meals will most likely be spent there. The food is very nice with a good selection and breakfast/dinner buffet available or have a la carte."

"My room wasn't described accurately, when booking, a sea view ( or at least a glimpse) was in the description, but there wasn't any water in sight at all. However the hotel upgraded to a very good seaview just by the shore, the second of two the two nights booked. A good compensation, showing they care."

"Our stay at Dusit Thani was overall pleasant. The rooms were comfortable, the property was well-maintained, and the general ambiance met our expectations for a relaxing stay. However, the check-in experience was quite challenging. I was not physically present during check-in as my family arrived ahead of me. Despite sending an email and making a call to authorize them, the front desk did not allow my family to check in on my behalf. This caused unnecessary inconvenience and delay. While I understand the importance of security, the process felt overly rigid and left me uncomfortable with the lack of flexibility and trust extended to guests, especially for pre-booked and confirmed reservations with clear communication. For guests booking multiple rooms or arriving separately, I strongly recommend registering the actual guests who will be staying in each room in advance to avoid similar issues. Overall, the stay itself was enjoyable, but I hope the hotel can improve its check-in procedures to be more guest-friendly while still maintaining security."

"My son enjoyed staying here in Solea. Super sulit ng binayad namin, from buffet breakfast, clean room, excellent staff services and amenities. Super good! My son loves swimming here as there's a lot of option where to swim for kids. Super recommended and will surely come back. Thank you so much solea!!!!"

"Liked this place. Not quite sure what was newly renovated as the room was still quite basic and no hot water to speak of. Fortunately the amenities (pools) made up for it. It’s far from other amenities for shopping etc and the shuttles are limited and generally full but grab is easy to hail. It’s a shame they don’t allow grab drivers with food in though and you have to meet them at the gate. If you don’t want this service affecting your catering business then improve your catering facilities to offer more of what people want. Highlight - pools and inflatables, beach clearly man made and more like concrete than sand. Low point - loud and noisy functions in the numerous tented venues."

"The location was not ideal as it’s 2km from Mactan New Town. Getting a grab was not successful as no driver was nearby. Had to take the jeepney to and fro. The room was big and the aircon was working very well. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The swimming pool were clean and a Jacuzzi was available. A 7-11 convenience stall opposite the hotel was a life-saver."

"We had a lovely stay at this hotel. You can walk straight down to the beach. The bakery across the road is also great! The rooms had everything we needed. I would recommend this place ☺️"
