So the reviews are true. This place is dated. Don’t be fooled by the beautiful pictures of the pools at night. It really is early 90s at best. See past the doric columns in the bathrooms, heavily glossed dark varnished doors, saloon style frosted glass strung from brass and fake grecian freezes the Mitsis product does not disappoint. The room was large with 3 full-size beds for our family (no sharing a sofa bed here) The a la carte restaurants by the pool coupled eith the book only italian and asian meant we never had to eat in the buffet for an evening meal. The cocktails were generous and service fabulous. Second to none was the kids club. Our kids got welcome gifts on arrival, treats throughout the stay and a goodbye gift from the kids team. It’s the first time my kids have actually asked to go to kids club and the team were amazing with them. The hotel is 10 min from the port where there are lots of water activities on offer and 15 minutes from the old town. Didn’t feel trapped in a resort as plenty to do locally. I would definitely see past the dated reviews and fully recommend the Mitsis Grand. I’ll also definitely try out some of their other hotels. 2// a fabulous family holiday.

Arrived after midnight but was met by a friendly receptionist who made check in easy and a concierge who greeted us with sparkling wine before taking our bags. Room was fine, double bed and a pull out couch for our boys to share in the same room. Shower was hot and powerful, room had a free safe and was cleaned daily but struggled for storage for 2 let alone 4 guests. Our room had a small balcony but only 2 chairs so we couldn't use it. Pool was excellent, plenty of beds whatever time you turn up. Beach a short walk away, main ***** literally across the road and the bus stop for Rhodes, Lindos and Tsambikos beach just a 5 minute walk away. Food was excellent, lots of choice. Bar could get busy at night. Shout out to Sakis, George and Pavlos who worked tirelessly to keep everyone served with drinks all day and night with the queues never ending for these holiday heroes. Entertainment was a bit hit and miss but plenty to do on and off site. Overall a really good 2 weeks stay.

DO NOT GO HERE Firstly I need to mention that I am one of the ones that take bad reviews with a pinch of salt but on this occasion I regret this!! When we arrived at 1am we were told there was no room for us and we had to stay at a hotel over the road, no apologies and they basically said it happens so get over it, the hotel room we had for the night was tiny with no air con, we’re told to come back for breakfast and room will be ready at 7.30am so that’s what we did. The morning receptionist was a women and oh my god she was so rude, the room wasn’t ready until 11am in the end she slowly walked us to the 2 flights of steps and pointed saying up there, I was with my two young children one disabled, I asked for help with suitcases and she shrugged her shoulders and went back to reception. The room, well considering the photo they use for advertising is a lovely fresh room, this is misadvertising, there is only a handful of refurbished double rooms only. The rooms are the most basic rooms iv ever seen, the shower room is basically a partitioned section of room with a shed like door. The rooms are not clean and even when we were there for 11 nights we had 1 sheet change and 1 towel change. Never cleaned. The rooms are invested with ants and we were all bit all over every night. There is big gaps around doors so mosquitos get in easily. FOOD- we are not fussy eaters and this food is horrendous, the staff regularly eat off the buffet with one night the chef walked off eating the last of the flatbreads with an hour to go until service finished. They did not care when we complained. No children’s food options. The plastic cups are plastic and dirty, desserts consists of jelly and ice cream and watermelon that’s it. DRINKS - only beer and wine is included in all inclusive and nasty cheap fizzy drinks. There is no snack bar, so breakfast 7-10 lunch 12.30-14 dinner 19 - 21.- there is no food inbetween these times apart from a glass jar on the bar with dried biscuits. All staff are very rude and clearly hate working there, a few of the cleaners are lovely and friendly. The pool area is a small pool that we never saw being cleaned once’s, the water is cloudy surrounded by broken tiles and about 10 sunbeds which are nearly all broke. The pool area is never cleaned or tidied up so rubbish is all scattered around, it is swarming in ants also. The beach is beautiful and the best but about this hotel, but impossible to get sunbeds I refused to get up at 5am just to get sunbeds on beach. Entertainment is not too bad, but very basic and not on every night. Drink ate until 10pm only. To top off this holiday on our last day fires spread to this resort and we were with out electrify and drinks and food and water, the female receptionist offered no help or support when we were all trying to flee the hotel for safety, no water or refreshments were offered

Fantastic hotel. Would stay here again without any hesitation. The all inclusive food was superb and the best we have ever had (including restaurants) the room with private pool was brilliant, spacious and light. Well stocked mini bar!! My only slight observation would be that some of the hotel needed a bit of minor cosmetic attention (cracks in glass etc) and room housekeeping (sometimes hair and fluff left on floor) but this did not detract from the quality of the overall stay. There were quite a few children around and other reviews suggest plenty for kids to do, however we didn’t take our children on this short stay but believe they may have been slightly bored if they had come along - besides a small pool / slide and play area there did not seem a lot for children. Please keep in mind we were not specifically looking as we were child free so this is not a criticism . Booking of restaurants is essential - download the mitsis app which was a godsend! It features all restaurant menus and concierge so you can add extras. . Super impressed with the hotel!

Me and my partner have just returned from a long weekend stay and we were beyond excited for our trip. We had booked a private pool room as it was our anniversary and we thought that it would be a nice touch for us. When we checked in, we were given our room number and shown to our room. Once me and my partner stepped outside onto the terrace, we noticed that we had been given a sharing pool room and not the private pool room that we had booked. I went down by myself to speak to the man on reception to explain that we were not in the room we had booked and being an ex travel agent and someone who is currently working for a huge holiday company, I knew that this was not correct. The man on reception said to me that there was nothing he could do about it and insisted that the room we had been given, the sharing pool room, was more expensive and therefore better. When I returned to the room, I searched up both rooms on the website to find out that both rooms were in fact the same price and I was a little frustrated with the way the man had spoken to me. Me and my partner then went back to reception and when I was asking the man questions, he was answering them but looking at my boyfriend and not me, the person who was speaking, which both of us found extremely rude. The man could not say why we weren’t given the correct room and why we could not have this room that we had booked. He did however tell us to return to reception the following morning to discuss it then, which we did. The lady we spoke to the following morning was wonderful, she explained to us that it was an error on their end and that someone had been given our room by accident. She apologised profusely and gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. We appreciated her honesty and although we weren’t happy with the room change and how we weren’t told prior to finding out ourselves, she did definitely make the situation better with her honesty. One thing I will mention about the sharing pool room is that the pool is not heated like the main pool during October. Having paid more money for this room than a standard room, you would hope that the pool would be treated the same as the main pool. The pool felt like it was as cold as ice and this meant that we rarely used the pool which was once again frustrating. On our final day, our flight home wasn’t until 11pm so we had booked a standard room as we had to check out of our original room at 12 and we wanted somewhere to put all of our belongings and somewhere to shower before the flight. The only thing we noticed about this room was that when we were showering, if you turned the water warmer, the pressure would get worse to the point that if you put the water fully onto hot, the water would quite literally just trickle out. Im not sure if this was an issue with just this room or all of the standard rooms and although it didn’t bother us too much as we were only there for one day, it may have if we were there for longer. We have recently returned from our first family beach holiday, having stayed in mid May. The hotel surpassed all expectations it was fantastic, such a variety of facilities and entertainment all top quality to suit all ages. The restaurants were fantastic with great variety and something for everyone and pretty much available 24/7. Worth pre booking a la cart on the app prior to arrival. The staff here work extremely hard to make you feel welcome and provide everything they can all with a smile. Big shout out to despina who had such high energy and worked crazy long hours day into night. This would certainly be a give start stay for us we had such a great time and I really recommend you book to stay at this place. Great value for money for the top quality service and product you get from your stay. Only downsides why it didn't hit the full marks, the pools were freezing and took a while to adapt. The communication about activities and what's going on and what services are provided at the hotel is lacking, the hotel has so much to offer and it does not sell that to the guests, you could go your whole stay and miss what's happening at the resort. We found the check in pretty poor and not much information provided. It took a few days to work out where things were and what events were happening, a little more communication or a more interactive app would work. We loved our time so much here we have booked to return in October and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
