Hotel berhampiran Museo della Repubblica Romana e della Memoria Garibaldina, Rome

With the expectation that this is a guest house (not a hotel), we were duly impressed with the amenities and cleanliness of this place. It is ideally located at Piazza Barberini (next to Metro stop, by the Triton fountain, and across the street from pick up of Rome hop-on/ hop-off bus), with a cafe across the street and several restaurants, pharmacy, bank nearby. It is about a 10-15 leisurely walk to Trevi Fountain, so location is attractive for tourists like us. We travelled as a family (2 adults, 1 child) and we were assigned a triple room overlooking the courtyard (very quiet at night, even for my husband who is a light sleeper). The central air conditioning was amazing, especially in the summer heat. The housekeeping is exceptionally prompt ( we would return after lunch for a siesta and the beds are made, bathroom cleaned, fresh towels available). While they don’t have breakfast onsite at this time, we are able to buy breakfast vouchers for 3 euros for the cafe across the street (this is the discounted rate since the same breakfast is €4.50 without a voucher). This was a quick breakfast type: cappuccino and a cornetto (croissant with Nutella or jam). If you want an American breakfast, that is also available at said cafe. Prior to check-out, the front desk arranged for our airport transfer (€65 van pick up). Alternatively, folks can walk to the taxi stand across the street (€50 standard tariff for airport drop off by taxis) but we had someone with mobility issues so pickup in front of the guest house was ideal. Other amenities included basic soap and body wash, in-room safe, water bottles when we first arrived and small refrigerator inside our room. There is also a vending machine near the front desk for additional water/juice and coffee vending machine (you will need coins- it was maybe 85 cents for a small coffee). There is a nearby PAM grocery we frequented for bottled water and other supplies. Overall, a memorable stay and we hope to back again soon.

Cosy room. Close to transport, amenities deceiving as linked with other hotels, spa area not in this hotel but another up the road. Upstairs balcony/ bar not in service anymore but ok for a quiet drink you can take up as self service. Coffee not great, suggest to go elsewhere. Amazing seafood restaurant nearby would highly recommended, SaTanca Crostaceri.

Had low expectations after reading reviews, but the accom was fine and good value for money. Location meant I could walk to practically all the sights, and still make connecting trains/flights with minimal hassle. Bathroom was roomy and included some shampoo etc. Mini fridge was cold and kept my Tim-Tams from melting any further (Australians, amirite). Bed was comfy, and clean. Aircon was kinda the little aircon that couldn’t, but the white noise from it doing its darnedest helped block out the street sound (which wasn’t that bad anyway considering location). The continental brekky in the morning was nothing extravagant but I did have about 5 bowls of really yummy muesli and 5 cups of OJ so I was pretty happy. Obviously niche travellers will read that and book straight away. Also the restaurants nearby are good, had a ripper pizza from across the road one night. Other guests in the hotel were friendly, as was the concierge when checking out. First fella when checking in seemed a bit unhappy to have customers, a la Bernard Black. All in all I’d stay again.

Sono certa che ognuno di noi abbia la propria scala di fattori per valutare se un posto e' bello o brutto ma che siano le persone il valore aggiunto. In questo hotel pulito, carino e molto comodo , vicino alla stazione di Roma Termini sono proprio le persone che fanno di un piccolo hotel, un punto di riferimento per i nostri viaggi a Roma. Paola della reception e' stata, ed è, la persona che ci ha seguito in fase di prenotazione e che si è fatta in quattro per aiutarci a proiettare le nostre fotografie su una parete, di una saletta allestita solamente per noi, un gruppetto di fotografi arrivati in città per un corso di fotografia di due giorni. I would have liked to rate the hotel as 4.5* however our room was at the front of the hotel and even with the windows shut it was very noisy from the large road junction outside, plus there was noise from other residents and tvs in other rooms, maybe some soundproofing needs to be carried out. That having been said the location was excellent, an easily walkable distance to main attractions, plus a metro stop is directly outside the hotel. The area felt safe at night and there some very good restaurants to try which are only minutes away. Should you wish to go shopping then there are plenty of non-designer shops to choose from nearby including a very good department store called COIN. Our room was a good size and had a lovely bathroom. The bed was large and extremely comfortable, the linen was super soft. Cleaning through the hotel was of a high standard. Breakfast was excellent, everything you might want and the most delicious scrambled eggs I have ever had in a hotel. There were salads, pastries, cakes, fresh fruit, yoghurts, different cured meats and cheeses, sausages and bacon and vegetarian options. Top marks for the hard working breakfast staff. A great start to the day. Staff generally were friendly and helpful. At reception were snacks and drinks to welcome you which was a nice gesture. The hotel also has a small restaurant, ideal for lunches or if you are too exhausted to leave the hotel at night. We had pizzas and salads there a couple of times for lunch and they were very good. The reception area is good with couches, they will look after your baggage if you have a late flight. A very enjoyable stay.

Our stay at the Hotel Archimediocre was strange to say the least. The hallways and common areas were fairly nice, and the breakfast was okay. However the rooms were a rather different story. Our room was shared between three, and two of the beds were pushed up against each other so we had to essentially share a bed. The sheets and towels were unclean and there was hair all over them, suggesting they hadn’t been cleaned properly. My sheets also had holes in them. The shower was inconvenient, as there was no shower curtain and no plug, so we had to take showers sitting down in the bath (which was stained). The privacy was limited. Our window looked out onto a utility area which was very dirty. The utility area also seemed to be used as a smoking spot for the staff. However, since the window was not airtight, the smell of cigarettes filled our room frequently. What’s more, our blinds didn’t close all the way and we saw the staff looking into our room through the window several times. Our friend’s door handle fell off the door too, which made opening and closing the room difficult. The air conditioning was functional, however it made our room smell disgusting. Since our trip was in the spring this was not too much of an issue, but had we travelled a few months earlier this would have been another story. The staff were not unkind but neither were they overly warm. However, the location of the hotel was good, and our stay overall was not too bad.

Sono un'insegnante, siamo andati con un gruppo di 35 alunni ”vivacini” di terza media. Ci siamo trovati benissimo: posizione comoda zona Termini, locale rinnovato pulito e ordinato, colazione completa e abbondante, set di cortesia e asciugamani rinnovati giornalmente, servizio di vigilanza e di manutenzione sempre disponibile e tempestivo; prima di partire ci hanno addirittura gentilmente stampato le carte d'imbarco. Lo consiglio vivamente per esperienze di questo tipo.

This is the best option for hostel stay in Roma. I was in a 4-bed dorm room, and all beds had sliding doors for extra privacy. When not being used the beds could also be locked from outside. There was a storage drawer under the bed which was very spacious and could be locked using the same key as the bed. The ensuite bathroom was good, but the door didn't seem to close tightly enough, in my opinion, even though the lock worked fine. This was the only negative of my stay really, but the impact wasn't high as I had considerate room-mates. I used the kitchen quite a bit to heat food, and although I didn't participate in staff organised meals, these were a nice touch. The hostel had a secure entrance as well, which I appreciated. The location was really nice too - about a 15-minute walk away from the Roma Termini station. And in the walking distance there are several fantastic restaurants for every budget. I particularly enjoyed a nice Bangladeshi one that was only a 15 minute walk away from the hostel. There was also a huge supermarket about 5min away that I didn't need to use, but appreciated its proximity anyway. Had a great experience overall, and I would stay here again.

Clean, comfortable, spacious room. Many & varied breakfast options. Comfortable air conditioned lounge downstairs off lobby. Proximity to bus, train, restaurants, mini markets and laundry (10 euro W&D) was excellent for 5 days in Rome. Disappointing check-in experience was had and witnessed twice, but fortunately this was the only blight on our stay.
