Very nice location but a little but far from local bus stop and has no air conditioning which is a drawback.. great for lovely outing in cold weather.

Was really concerned having read the reviews… was absolutely pleasantly surprised… lovely rooms… hot showers…. Ideal location for Gatwick airport…. Very relaxing…… would absolutely recommend this hotel… especially when flying out of Gatwick… cheapest way to get here from the airport…… take the train to Crawley… then a taxi from Crawley station shouldn’t cost more than 8/9 uk pounds

Upon arrival around 6:30pm we tried to check in, he couldn’t find our details so had to go to the office to load it up as we only booked a few hours before. Then he proceeded to inform us our room is not ready and will be 10-15 mins so he can clean it? Although he was pretty speedy at doing so it still wasn’t to the standard you would expect. Once he came down and told us it was ready we headed to the room to be gobsmacked by the state of the decor and the fact he left the hoover in the middle of the floor outside the room (which was still there when we left swiftly at 8am!) He was the only member of staff we saw also and definitely wasn’t dressed for working in a hotel….shorts, tshirt and flip flops. The decor is outdated and needs sprucing up, mattresses need replacing (those in our room were rock hard) the carpet in the room is dark green and stained. The lighting could be better maybe a change to brighter lights as it feels like going to your nans fairly dark The bathroom was small, the toilet wasn’t secure to the floor fully and when you flush it takes a good 10 mins to refill etc which in itself was noisy. The shower……I refused to use it wasn’t clean, no shower curtain just a bit of wall plus there was balls of hair from previous use. It was an electric shower which was disappointing for a country house I would expect a natural one. The light above the shower didn’t even have a bulb in! The WiFi - was very rubbish and intermittent which made life hard trying to do my work which requires WiFi…..but then you’re in the middle of nowhere so your phone doesn’t exactly have signal either so no hotspot. Tv was to be expected but with the added bonus of Netflix etc Didn’t utilise any dinner or breakfast - cannot comment on that. There was what looked like a microwave in reception by toilets, it didn’t look clean Free parking in their car park across the road, very nice new look expensive signs there for the hotel but the inside is aged. At the current moment I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless it’s the last available place or it closes for refurbishment

Excellent hotel to stay in to catch early flights. Great shuttle bus. Nice bat and ok good. Only downside was soap dispensers didn't work the barmen throwing empties into rubbish bin behind bar causing a ridiculous unnecessary noise to break what was otherwise a nice atmosphere, small issue but both are easily remidied.

Good location and peace full place my son enjoyed very much in pool. If you willing to go Brighton Beach nice place to stay. 35 min away from Brighton.

I specifically booked a night at the Sofitel Gatwick because it included 'Meet and Greet' parking with Maple Parking. Had they not included this I would have still stayed but made other arrangments for my car. I arrived at the Maple Parking Meet and Greet and parked the car. Took my keys over to the attendant and signed in. I then asked if they could give me 20 minutes to check in to the hotel, change clothes and bring a bag back to the car. We didnt want to bring a bag of unclean clothes on holiday with us. Here's where things went downhill faster than Gwynth Paltrow on ski's. The attendant, a tall bloke with a mid-european accent shouted at me 'No, do you know you are at an airport'. He actually shouted this. Shouted. To a customer. Take a minute to breathe that in. Fortunatly I knew I was at an airport, having driven 4 hours to get there. To hear that I was at an airport was no surprise, to be shouted at by a car park attendant was. I explained that I didnt want to take a case of unclean clothes on holiday with me. His response to that was 'we are extremly busy and your car will be removed immediately'. I asked if the hotel would hold the bag and he replied 'No they will not hold your stupid bag'. Here's where I should have murdered him with his Maple Meet and Greet Staff lanyard, but I did not. I asked for my keys back to be told once again in an truely agresive manner 'if you take your keys I will close the entry and you can't come back'. I took the keys and left. I then had to park at Gatawick Long stay for an additional £150. We finally checked into the hotel, explained the situation. The checkin lady (Alessia?) apologised and gave us two tokens for a free drink at the bar. They also kept our bag for us. Is this the fault of Sofitel Gatwick? I think it is. They decided to partner with a company that treats people appalingly. So they've got to accept responsibility for that. Please share this review, If I saw something like this I would have chose another car park or another hotel. Other people should be warned.

I loved my experience at the Bloc. It was so easy to find and very welcoming after a long train journey. The staff were very helpful with my questions about simple things. I liked the complementary drinks in the serving room, the lovely thick towels and welcome message for me, and also that the room was dark and quiet, which I needed for a long journey ahead of me. I liked the discounts in surrounding shops. Perfect.

Booked here as had an early morning flight from Gatwick. The room was small but fine. It was on the ground floor and next to the main road so was some noise outside the room and quite cold (though I could heat the room up). Also noted that the hangers were too high up for me to use. Having said that I did sleep well and I enjoyed my vegetable soup. I also appreciated there being a shuttle to take me to the airport. 😀

We live fairly local but decided to stay here as my daughter & her friends prom was at the wine estate local to the hotel, we wanted to make our girls prom a little more special. Staff we’re very helpful friendly went above and beyond to make our stay perfect Cold water in fridge fans in the room and the weather has been hot. Food we ordered from the menu in our room was great & friends eat in the bar area which was also very good. I would recommend and would definitely stay here again.

The highlight of this hotel is the staff. Faiza, and the reception team were always super caring, attentive, nice and ready to help. The breakfast staff I don't remember any names but one of the guys were glasses, he and the whole team were really nice and smiley and eager to make sure I was comfortable and got everything I needed. Agnes from cleaning was always very sweet and so hardworking making sure the room was perfect and super clean. Regarding the hotel itself it is okay. The carpets in the ro gave a very old look but it depends on the taste I guess. The biggest problem for me was the fact that there was no gym.
