I must admit i was worried about staying downtown. BUT.... This hotel was so beautiful. It was so clean. The rooms were really nice with an awesome view. They have a covered parking garage for hotel guests only. Love that. EVERY STAFF MEMBER were so helpful and sooo nice. BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING AS WELL. Biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles. I will definitely be back. PLUS THEY ARE PET FRIENDLY. IT DURANT GET ANY BETTER THAN THAT. Words cannot express how much we enjoyed our stay here. Everyone who works there should be recognized.
Residence Inn by Marriott St. Louis Downtown

This is a pleasant, inviting hotel with location as its absolute biggest perk. It is an 5-10 minute drive from the St. Louis Arch and the thick of downtown. At the same time, parking is free! Rooms facing east (a trench of them on each floor) have a view of downtown, including the lit-up Ferris wheel and the arch peaking between buildings. We had a room on the 2nd floor, but ask or try to reserve a higher floor. Other pluses: - nice interiors; - good kitchen in rooms; - couch with a foldaway bed in it in suites; - rooms have balconies; - great sound insulation in rooms; - helpful staff at front desk - fruit-infused water in lobby; - happy hour with 2 drinks/ person at 5-7 pm (selection is limited); - pretty good breakfast selection (included in stay). Minuses: - pool was under repair (but not indicated anywhere during booking); - several amenities were near-broken or broke during our stay; - maintenance took a long time to come.

Location in proximity to city attractions is amazing 5/5. Location in terms of safety is 2/5. There isn’t a covered secured lot for your car and I was approached by many people asking me for money while taking a walk around the building. Service is hit or miss. When I arrived, and attempted to open my car door, I was accosted by the valet who yelled at me and asked me what I was TRYING to do. I told him I was checking in to the hotel. And he was aggressively unpleasant, seemingly angry that I had arrived. Conversely, the valet attendant the next day was polite and wonderful. The front desk was nice but did not review any of the amenities nor offer any information about the hotel, which is a shame. Nice but inattentive and uninterested. The service at both Idol Wolf and Good Press were 5/5. The food at both were 5/5. The hotel itself is gorgeous. There’s art set in an old gym. The renovation is well done. Enjoyed it very much. The view from the room was also very nice. The room itself was standard with a few attention to detail things needing addressed. Such as broken handles and non working bathroom fixtures. Overall would recommend this hotel because it is unique. Big plus - they allow pets!!! Yes!
The Last Hotel

Overall, a wonderful experience at the Last Hotel. Cons: inconsistent staff kindness/helpfulness. Like so many places right now, they seem to be understaffed and some employees handle that load better than others. We experienced quite an outburst from one valet employee but noted that most are trying to be as helpful as possible with what they have. There also were only a handful of rooms ready by check-in, but they let us use their pool in the meantime. Pros: Awesome pool - great view. Our room??? Stunning! We felt spoiled and slept like babies. Truly beautiful renovations, great craftsmanship and fun personality. Hotel felt safe even in the midst of a louder part of town with a rough nightlife. Tip: it’s expensive but pay for valet. They were prompt in their service, the gated lots nearby don’t have in and out privileges, and you’ll want to keep your car off the street overnight.
