Mercure Salisbury White Hart Hotel

The hotel room is about dated and not quite as what has been expected. However, the service from receptionists and restaurant staff was amazing!

Reserved two privilege rooms online. Turn up, the rooms are just classic rooms with a nespresso machine. Look nothing like the photos. The lady at the front desk offered to change 1 of 2 rooms as they only have one other available. That room looked like the photos. It's a clear cut case of false advertising folks. I'd be careful when reserving this hotel. I'm stuck in an old room with no walk in shower and have paid a premium for it. Check the photos I've put here and the privilege room photos on their website. I was told it's because of the age of the hotel. Which is clearly not the case: it's just a classic room with a nespresso machine. On a busy road. Yay. I'd add that the staff are friendly and tried to help. There's at least that.

Stayed for one night and wished we could have stayed longer. We received the warmest welcome from the loveliest reception staff. They were so friendly and welcoming. Our room was 225 and it was just superb. Everything was spotlessly clean, bright and cheerfully decorated. Our bed was super-king sized and exceptionally comfortable, in fact we agreed it was the comfiest hotel bed we’ve had. The linen was fresh and white as were the soft towels in the lovely modern and clean bathroom, which also had luxury toiletries. Every thought was given to anything you could possibly need, even a sewing kit was provided! Our room included a Nespresso coffee machine and soft drinks in the mini fridge which were most welcome. Overall the room was spacious and extremely comfortable and we slept really well. Our breakfast the following morning was well prepared and presented, served hot and with plenty of choice from cooked food to fresh crusty bread and croissants, yogurt, cereals and fruit. Exceptional value and served in a spacious and clean dining room. We would definitely recommend this hotel if you’re in the area. Salisbury is a lovely place and we were made very welcome by the staff at the Mercure. Thank you for a lovely stay. We highly recommend.

We stayed for two nights and we were somewhat disappointed with the tired looking hotel, lack of housekeeping and the really loud creaking floorboards from the room above. The indiferent receptionist did point out that the hotel was 200 years old. However you do expect a reasonably quiet room when you are trying to sleep!

I was only here for one night and the only meal I had was breakfast. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and made me feel really welcome. The room was fine, the only criticism I have is that it was not possible to lock my door from the inside (there was a chain but it wouldn't stand up to a hard shove from the outside). As a young woman travelling alone, I was not overly happy about this.

From the very first moment, all the staff were welcoming and friendly. The room was clean, the shower hot and the bath towel large and soft. I have an allergy to onions, which the hotel had been told about, and even though I was with a group there was no problem at meal times. I would definitely stay here again.

Needs attention as it is run down and not the lovely grand hotel you expect from the outside (how it used to be)and I appreciate this is a small city hotel but very expensive for a room without breakfast the decor is tatty and although it is a 100 % no smoking hotel the corridors near our room smelt of smoke Car parking was a nightmare with limited space ( all full) and because we arrived after 8p/m the multi storey was closed and the nearest car park was short stay only the very helpful lady in reception let us park in a staff area but you have to pay The room was clean and tidy and bed was comfortable Papers were said to be included in room price but you had to go to reception to pick one up and there were only independent papers no choice of any others There must have been a large party on as breakfast was laid up in the reception/foyer area which wasn’t very nice Such a shame this hotel needs some love really disappointed that Mercure have let it get so run down

We held a birthday dinner for family and friends. The welcome was warm, the room was wonderfully decorated and sparked with celebration. The food was top notch.the staff were attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. A wonderful evening. I would thoroughly recommend the White Hart for your celebration.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff. It seemed clean in the room but we had the poor luck of the draw view wise. Bit tired in a few public areas. Great location for exploring Salisbury. Wouldn’t recommend paying for the breakfast, loads of places to go for better value food.
