The hotel was fantastic value for money in Salzburg! A little further from the station, but can walk in under 10mins. Imauer Hotel seems more popular with the locals, and has a great restaurant. Recommended to stay in Sheraton, and eat at the Imauer restaurant.

When I was looking for a hotel for a 1-night stay in Salzburg, I stumbled upon the listing for the Hyperion and took a chance. I wasn't familiar with the Hyperion hotel brand and didn't know much about Salzburg. Now, I have fallen under the spell of both the hotel and the city. The Hyperion is a fairly new hotel and it is in pristine shape. The room is rather generously sized compared to most of the European hotels I have stayed in thus far. The bathroom was particularly good -- with an American-style shower that featured both a handheld wand and a rain shower head. The separate water closet was a plus. The technology in the room (especially the lighting tech) is impressive, if not slightly confusing. Nice touch to have the Nescafe machine and the Mozart chocolates. The bed was very comfortable. The location, next to Mirabell Gardens, was great. The hotel staff was helpful. We arrived early, and the front desk gave us tips on how to spend our afternoon, drawing out some local attractions on the map and suggesting we get a Salzburg card (we already had them). They also gave us a recommendation for dinner, but we were turned away at the restaurant, which was full. In stead, we dined at the restaurant in the hotel, which was quite nice. Service was solid. Breakfast is a tad expensive, but they do offer a wide assortment of breakfast items (hot and cold) as well as eggs made to order. Champagne was also available for mimosas. Nice touch.

Old world elegance and old world service standards make for an absolutely wonderful hotel experience! We had a suite (probably the best room in the hotel - room 497) which had amazing views from the balconies of the town and the gardens. The staff was very helpful and attentive and the location was perfect, easy to walk to town yet a bit away from the busy area so it was very quiet. The breakfast was outstanding and the bar was lovely! Would highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Once again, the Hotel Schloss Monchstein exceeded our expectations! This by far is one of my favorite hotels in the world! They made my husband‘s 50th birthday so special. The property is breathtaking and the service goes above and beyond! Amazing breakfast and wonderful rooms. I had a fantastic massage! The breakfast is incredible. It’s the little touches, though, that really mean so much. The chocolates and sweet notes, the fruit in our rooms, the welcome glass of champagne and all the smiling faces, that are so very thoughtful! It’s truly heaven on earth!

From the moment we arrived at the hotel minus our luggage which was still in Frankfurt, Simon and the team were brilliant, supplying us with things we needed, including a relaxing beer and picking up the luggage from the airport the next day. The team here are so friendly and helpful- nothing is too much trouble and they really went the extra mile to make us feel welcome. The room was just beautiful with a balcony and river view, complimentary mini bar topped up daily. We had lovely meals in the Sacher Grill, eating on the terrace and also enjoyed tea and cakes in the Sacher café and cocktails in the bar. This really is a fantastic hotel to match a fantastic city and we would like to thank the whole team, especially Simon and Anna for making this such a special holiday.

Coming from the young and brash USA, we have no heritages as rich in tradition or accommodation as this amazing, 600-year old hotel; and we loved every second of staying here! Our room was immaculate, beautiful, and timeless, blending modern convenience with the feel and authentic design of 1600s Austria. Just hanging out in this hotel will forever remain some of our favorite moments in Salzburg. Coffee and tea in the library were delights. Breakfast at the hotel was one of our favorite experiences in all of Europe! The staff and service were also excellent and what we imagined the kings of the olden days enjoyed. I highly encourage any traveller with an appreciation for detail and the past to journey through time and stay at this remarkable property right in the heart of old town Salzburg.

The hotel has a historical vibe to it, creating a distinguished ambiance. The service at this hotel is 6 stars. Everyone is super helpful, going beyond the call of duty and having such a pleasant demeanor when talking to guests. The family room we stayed at was large and comfortable. Our room was rather quiet with really no noise from the outside filtering in. We only stayed for a night but wished we had stayed longer, and do plan to stay again when returning to Salzburg.

Ganz tolles, modern ausgestattetes Hotel sehr nahe zum Zentrum. Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Super saubere Zimmer, geräumiges Bad und Dusche. Betten und Matratzen sind top. Ausgezeichnete Küche und Frühstück im obersten Stockwerk - von dort hat man einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf die Stadt.

A lovely experience. The reception staff was friendly and helpful. The building a gorgeous historical building with tons of character (huge wooden doors, wrought iron gates, cobbled courtyard). We stayed in two family rooms, one older on the lower floor and we had family members in a second newer room on an upper floor. I personally liked the older room better, it felt more spacious and had a bit more atmosphere but both very nice. The family room consisted of two rooms, one large bed in one room and a fold out couch in the other. Both spaces were very roomy with great clothes storage options. High ceilings with large windows made it bright and airy. No aircon but there were two large floor fans and I never felt too warm as the evening were cool. Our rooms faced the alley where there were outdoor restaurants but I can honestly say that I was not bothered by any noise. Breakfast was served indoors or you could sit out in the peaceful courtyard with a fountain. Plenty of choices without being overly fussy. The place felt very secure and was located in the perfect location for touring Salzburg, we walked everywhere including the train station and nothing was further then a 15 minute walk. This place has all the charm of a quaint European inn without making you feel awkward if you are not on your honeymoon. Also, that little jar of raspberry jam they gift you, absolutely the best jam I've ever had.

Lovely little independent hotel with very friendly helpful staff. It has a small garden to sit out in and an unstaffed honesty bar and a lounge with free tea and coffee to help yourself to. The door is locked at 9.30pm but you have a key to access the hotel after this time. It has a lift and is just 2 minutes walk to the bus stops taking you all over Salzburg. The No 2 from the airport stops at Kongresshaus then it is just across the road and round the corner to the hotel. I had a single room which was quite small but perfectly adequate and very quiet even though it faced the street. The shower was great and breakfast choices were good. I would visit again.

There are two properties: one is a castle, the other is not. Plan yr expectations accordingly. We booked a double room in the annex property for three nights. This property is tired and needs an update. Our room (221) was in the attic and resembled a small Hampton Inn/Howard Johnson room from the 70's/80's. The furniture was IKEA-like and minimal. There was no refrigerator or minibar (no wine/bottle opener) in the room and they ask you to refill your complimentary bottle of water from the tap in the bathroom daily. Three nights of this (with breakfast - I'm coming to that - ) cost us 560E. The bathroom was updated and had an excellent shower. The accommodations were adequate, but the property (including the small, drab lobby) has not been updated since at least the 90's. The front desk staff was not particularly helpful or friendly (and I speak German), but we didn't have any issues during our stay. There was no Austrian Gemütlichkeit. The town of Salzburg is a brisk 20-minute walk from the hotel. There are no reasonable restaurants in the vicinity. An Uber was 14-16E when we looked at taking one from the hotel to the centre of town. Now to the other property: breakfast is served in the castle and is a very different experience than the annex. The staff is 5-star and cater to yr every wish. We would like to recognise Marianna and Gunista for their extraordinary service during our stay. The breakfast itself is very good and the selection is excellent. I have to say, that we did not appreciate the ”woke education” that was made visible in every corner of the castle. It is not the venue, and we did not come to the property for a lesson in atonement. It was not a bad stay; it was not a great stay. Adequate at what we perceived as a high price. Again, we hope our review will help guests set their expectations for these two properties. You decide!

Our family of four stayed in a superior apartment for three nights. The hotel was a pleasant experience. We loved having two bedrooms and the rooms were nicely undated. Our room was on the top floor with views of the street and graveyard. Most hotels in Europe don’t have air conditioning so the multiple windows offered nice cross ventilation. We closed the windows at night and they were soundproof from street noise. Luckily the hotel borders a pedestrian only area so there are no vehicles driving by. Other pros include: - great sitting area in the lobby - awesome coffee machine to make a variety of drinks at any time - complementary fresh baked croissants and light sandwiches in the morning - two outside patios - on a pedestrian street with plenty of great restaurants and cozy bars The location was fantastic and we had a pleasant stay. I’d stay here again without hesitation while in Salzburg.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt im MotelOne. Unser Zimmer (415) war sauber, ruhig und hatte einen tollen Blick auf die Salzach und die weissen Berge. Die Mitarbeiter waren alle sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Frühstücksbuffet sah sehr ansprechend aus und die Auswahl war völlig ausreichend. Zu Fuss ist man in kurzer Zeit in der Innenstadt, am Bahnhof oder auf den Weihnachtsmärkten. In der Bar/Lounge ist es sehr gemütlich und man kann den Abend mit leckeren Cocktails ausklingen lassen. Preis/Leistung stimmt für mich. Bitte weiter so! 👍🏼
