Ulasan Caloura Hotel Resort

The hotel is really old. Pool is dirty. They do not change pool towels. Breakfast is very poor. Nothing in the walking distance.

Excellent hotel overall. Great location and friendly staff and great grounds/view. The experience there could be dramatically improved with just two small changes: 1. Poolside service - as it is, you have to get your own food and drink. Adding an app or call system would be awesome. A pool waiter/waitress would be amazing. 2. Better mattresses. They felt quite hard, like a budget mattress not appropriate to a nice hotel.

A very comfortable and clean hotel. Quite and peaceful. Great view from the room balcony. Friendly and helpful staff. Simple but rich breakfast, terrible coffee but you can ask for an espresso (free of charge). Good value for money. Recommend.

Trés bel hotel, isolé sur une côte calme. Nous y reviendrons trés volontiers. Attention, voiture indispensable.

Das Hotel hat eine tolle Lage und der Ausblick von den Zimmern ist traumhaft. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Zimmer selbst sind in Ordnung. Die Badezimmer sind durchaus in die Jahre gekommen, aber es funktioniert alles. Die Betten war eine Katastrophe. Die Matratzen waren brutal weich und sehr durchgelegen. Wir haben nach zwei Nächten die Zimmer gewechselt weil wir kaum schlafen konnten, aber auch im zweiten Zimmer waren die Betten schrecklich weich. Der Frühstücksraum ist für die Anzahl an Gästen sehr klein, daher ist es sehr laut. Die Auswahl ist ok aber für ein 4 Sterne Hotel etwas mager.

Buen hotel, limpio, habitaciones amplias y en una ubicación espectacular para las vistas. Necesidad de coche para ir hasta el. Edificio algo antiguo, que se podría mejorar algo, pero aún así recomenable

Quarto impecavel mas com algumas falhas de disponibilidade em relação ao que estava mencionado no site. Staff impecavel e serviço muito bom. Um pouco fraco em relação a animação de bar, nao há.

In almost every way this hotel is a great find. A pleasant place with good light, very clean rooms, centrally located with ample parking and extraordinary views; it is an excellent value for the price. Do not expect luxury, but do anticipate friendly and helpful service. One could--- if so inclined---vacation in this one spot. The pool is immaculate and huge and there are walks possible on the property as well as into town. The walks are somewhat steep so anyone with challenges walking may not find the walks inviting. Both a buffet breakfast and a buffet dinner are available, and there is a snack bar as well. But there are so many wonderful places to explore on Sao Miguel and car rentals right at the hotel so much more affordable than at the airport that using the hotel as a base to see the rest of the island is irresistible. The management might consider upping their profile a bit with offering quality amenities in the bathroom such as real soap, separate shampoo and conditioner and perhaps a higher grade body lotion. We ate out for dinner both because it was convenient and because buffet style meals are not appealing to us. The breakfast in particular was not inviting with a lot of clatter and the same food every day. It felt like a cafeteria despite the awesome views from the windows. Despite these 2 suggestions; we very much enjoyed our stay and would return.

We have just returned to UK after a wonderful week at Caloura Resort Hotel.. I can not rate our visit highly enough.. The staff were fabulous, the location is stunning, rooms very comfortable, and there is tea and coffee making families in the room, and food is very good. We were slightly concerned as we took our 11 yr old son and there's not much for children but he absolutely loved it. The pool is huge and immaculately clean, its not heated but even I felt ok in there as warm once in. There is a lovely Bay just a short walk which has a coffee and snack bar close by. The Buffet breakfast is a little pricey but is more than adequate with delicious bread and cheese available. We didn't eat at the buffet other than breakfast because we really liked the Terrace for food.. freshly prepared and delicious, me and my son have odd eating habits and the staff ,who all speak fluent English, were more than happy to adapt meals. Once I realised a latte was called Galao I felt right at home. Beach towels are provided so no need to take any. The hotel can arrange tours and we did an amazing full day lake tour , we also did a whale watching tour which was on my bucket list AMAZING !! Just a 15 min walk (a bit steep) is Casa Do Able a fabulous steak house and very reasonably priced. We absolutely loved our visit to the Azores and Caloura Resort Hotel and will definitely return.... views for days, interesting facts, good food, beautiful ocean and lovely people.. we will be back.

Beautiful and clean pool, beautiful view of the ocean, and astounding landscaping. The location is secluded and quiet. We greatly enjoyed walking out onto the cliffs for a view of the stars. However, the positives stop there. This is simply not a four star hotel. First, the customer service is non existent. There is no one to help you with your bags, show you to your room, or otherwise answer questions. There was no poolside service, and it took over an hour to have a 15 euro sandwich made for lunch. The breakfast was also severely understaffed and several food options were empty despite being 19 euro per person. The room is overly simple with many of the missing features one would expect from a four star resort. No mini bar, all-in-one shampoo/bodywash/handsoap, and one pool towel that could not be exchanged. Popcorn ceilings and walls, only instant coffee in the room, and water damage in the ceiling rounded out the top complaints about our room. There’s also a significant amount of nickel and diming. 10 euro to use the sauna… Only the *contents* of the water bottle in the room are free… After staying at two other properties on the island, this one was very clearly falling short.

Awesome resort with beautiful grounds, huge pool, and really amazing views! All rooms have a Patio facing the ocean. Great, gorgeous path down to the ocean! Picnic tables, benches, patios galore. Great bar area with nice furniture and views. Good, big parking lot. Quiet area away from the crowds. We loved having a car to go on gorgeous drives.

Terrible experience, there were worms everywhere in the room and in the hotel. The staff did not care at all, we contacted the reception many times but they were not able to solve the situation. We do not recommend to visit - we were happy to leave!

Caloura is located about 20 minute drive from the Punta Delgada. The location is beautiful and serene. Rooms and facilities are nice. Wifi was spotty in the room, Beds were okay. Parking is plenty. There is pathway down to the rocky outcropping by the shore. Nicely located for sunset viewing. The only disadvantage is location which limits access to restaurants, shopping or markets.
