Overall would say that the hotel is OK. The staffs are also OK. Only one lady staff that speaks English. It's not a problem can still use phone translator. Room is big and spacious, with a very nice view facing the hills. Everything is OK with the room except for the shower. They should do something about the shower. Hairdryer is very good. Breakfast can be obtain from a shop opposite the hotel (come out turn left and cross the street) just a few shops away from the hotel, selling very good Chicken Murtabak and also Egg with Banana Roti Canai. Location of hotel is perfect. There is ample car park behind the hotel. There is an entrance to the hotel from the car park. There is also a mini mart right next to the hotel on the right. Overall would recommend this hotel.

We have visited and reviewed The Datai many times and the fact that we continue to come back year after year despite the very long journey speaks volumes. The setting is stunning and the staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and were happy to chill out and relax surrounded by nature. We have visited many super properties in other countries and enjoyed them very much but The Datai ticks all the boxes for us and feels like our idea of paradise! Over the years we have stayed in most room categories and they are all great but our favourite is a Rainforest Pool Villa. Relaxing in the pool watching the monkeys, birds and butterflies whilst listening to the sounds of the forest and the stream is just sublime. We visited in April and were prepared for rain as the dry season has ended but we had beautiful sunny weather for the vast majority of our 10 day stay. We had 3 days with rain in the late afternoon/early evening but these passed quickly. At this time of the year a lot of flowers are in bloom and many trees are in fruit thus attracting more wildlife. We thoroughly recommend the Spa and enjoyed massages during one of the rain showers which added to the relaxation! The Datai is the most eco friendly hotel we have ever been to and a visit to ‘The Lab’ is well worthwhile and educational as well as fun! We also ‘learned how to be naturalists’ at the Nature Centre and placed hidden cameras in the forest to help monitor the behaviour of the wildlife. This was a fascinating experience and well worth doing! There are many other things to enjoy but we just stuck to our lovely pool and ventured out mainly to eat. We didn’t even go to the beautiful beach at all! The food was great everywhere we ate and if the hotel is busy the Beach Club is a great, peaceful alternative for breakfast although it is just ‘a la carte’ with no buffet option. As every year some old friends amongst the staff have left and we miss them, but new stars always emerge! Thanks to everyone but we must mention Yoon, Azmir, Edy, Gunawan, Shaiful, Izzie, Amelia, Wendy and the legendary Sivagaran!

Menginap selama 2 malam di homestay kecil yang indah ini, saya mempunyai 0 jangkaan sebelum ketibaan tetapi sebaik sahaja saya sampai, itulah yang saya cari. Tenang dan damai, bersebelahan dengan pantai dan mempunyai semua yang anda perlukan. Pemiliknya sangat baik dan memberitahu saya semua kemudahan, walaupun cuaca agak kasar, ia tidak menjejaskan mood percutian saya. Kotej ini bersih dan mempunyai semua yang anda perlukan. Katilnya selesa dan penghawa dinginnya sangat berkuasa sehingga menyejukkan bilik panas dalam masa 5 minit. Bilik mandi mempunyai air panas dan tekanan air lebih kuat daripada di rumah saya sendiri. Lol. Terdapat banyak ruang tempat duduk luar di perkarangan, cuma berhati-hati kerana pada waktu petang terdapat banyak nyamuk. Terdapat dapur komune berdekatan pantai tempat anda boleh memasak. Pantai di hadapan penuh dengan batu, sila pakai kasut renang jika anda bercadang untuk melompat, jika tidak, anda boleh berjalan kaki 5 minit ke pantai berdekatan. Pada zaman saya, 90% daripada pantai adalah benar-benar tiada orang. Anda boleh mempunyai masa anda sendiri dan tiada siapa yang akan mengganggu anda. Mengenai restoran, terdapat hanya sedikit dalam jarak berjalan kaki. Saya tidak memandu jadi saya hanya boleh berjalan. Salah satunya ialah restoran yang terletak berhampiran Four Season di mana menjual Fish and Chips. Hmm, bahagian makanan sedikit sedikit dengan harga itu, tetapi ia mempunyai pandangan yang baik dan draf Guinness. Satu lagi ialah Kafe Din, jika ia dibuka pada waktu pagi saya percaya saya akan mempunyai semua makanan saya di sana. Tempat makan tempatan yang sangat baik (restoran). Mereka menyediakan semua yang anda harapkan di restoran Melayu. Mereka juga mempunyai makanan barat dan semua jenis minuman selain alkohol. Overall would say that the hotel is OK. The staffs are also OK. Only one lady staff that speaks English. It's not a problem can still use phone translator. Room is big and spacious, with a very nice view facing the hills. Everything is OK with the room except for the shower. They should do something about the shower. Hairdryer is very good. Breakfast can be obtain from a shop opposite the hotel (come out turn left and cross the street) just a few shops away from the hotel, selling very good Chicken Murtabak and also Egg with Banana Roti Canai. Location of hotel is perfect. There is ample car park behind the hotel. There is an entrance to the hotel from the car park. There is also a mini mart right next to the hotel on the right. Overall would recommend this hotel.

NIce simple place to stay in Satun. Clean rooms and the staff is friendly. Free transport via Tuk Tuk to the nearest coach bus terminal. Nice coffee shops nearby and decent local food. I actually met some English teachers in the Amazon shop located a few meters from the Hotel.
