Hotel MOXY di Seoul

Simple fuss free hotel. Located right next to the subway station. Getting around is easy but we tried to walk around to save some transport fees and check out shops along the way. It’s actually walkable to myeongdong!

We are still currently at this hotel but the service from some is so poor that for the first time, I find the need to review before leaving. Sadly, I suffer from many allergies - some can make me quite ill & some can be fatal if I’m not careful. Dairy is one that makes me ill. One morning, the eggs choice was only scrambled. As I can’t have that, I ask whether I could have a couple of fried eggs. To my surprise, I was told that they did not have eggs! I explained my allergy problems & hoped for some understanding & support but I got none. It was like talking to robots who kept on repeating that the kitchen had no eggs! They preferred to refund me my breakfast cost than to go ask the chef to fry two eggs for me. On another occasion, I asked for either a piece of fresh ginger or a spoonful of crushed ginger in a cup of hot water as I was having some really bad stomach pains. Again, I was told the same thing, ie the kitchen did not have any ginger. I offered to pay for it but still they would not bulge to go ask the chef for some ginger. Both times, it was the staff at the counter/bar on the 4th Floor. They are the most rigid, unreasonable hotel staff I’ve ever met. We travel extensively & this is our first time (& definitely last) at the Moxy. We thought we’d try a new hotel. We put up with the fact that there is no wardrobe. We went to purchase a clothes rack & clothes hangers to handle this matter. We purchased a loofah & soap holder for the shower cublcle as there is nothing to put one’s things on. We put up with all these quirkiness to say nothing else but the lack of service or lack of help like what I’ve experienced so far, I won’t put up with. As a new hotel, it should have put its best foot forward & its best staff forward. Disappointing to have some staff that don’t even understand or speak English. However, I have to commend Sun for the great job he’s done every time we’ve encountered him. Apart from its location, I would not recommend it to anyone.
