Dayin International Youth Hostel（East Nanjing Road & The Bund）

This hotel/hostel feels like a big apartment complex. There’s communal showers and toilets. The staff and always cleaning. I stayed in a bunk bed with mattress that was a bit thin. The location is perfect though. Around the corner from the Nanjing St and close to the People’s Square metro which is on the same line as both airports. The crab dumpling restaurant nearby is must try!

Firstly, I must give a big thumbs up for the hostel staff; the most impressive is Mr. Jing Wan Xu. When I was checking in, he provided a free upgrade for me. The second morning, when I wanted to grab a coffee, I also received a complementary one. I believe there is not a big season, and I am quite lucky to have encountered this benefit, hahaha. For the important concern of price, it is very reasonable as well. The subway station is just a 5 to 10-minute walk away, and convenience stores, souvenir shops, and scenic spots (such as The Bund, Jing'an Temple, and the Shanghai Natural History Museum) are all around the hostel, everything is very close by. Last but not least, I also want to compliment the hostel staff; they are really passionate about their work. When I returned to the hostel, I saw a mother traveling with her baby, who needed to be taken care of and was using a trolley. The staff left the front desk to assist them to their rooms. They are ready and flexible in doing a great job. This was my first time staying in a hostel, and it has changed my stereotype a lot. And thank you so much your guys treat me so well. Solo room is pretty small but it’s clean and enough for one traveler. Shi Jing Yi was nice. Would be nice to have more events for other foreign travelers.

Dayin Hostel location is excellent, it is located right beside Nanjing Street, and you will have plenty to shop, eat and walk around. The travellers are very friendly and the hostel is generally clean, they provide towels, toothbrushes, fresh bedsheets etc. Shi Yi Jing helped us with our checkin/checkout process with joy!

They let me checkin early upgraded mu room in same price gave me a window room. Good hostel just the bed mattress need to replace
