Bons points: - Le personnel parle anglais et est accueillant. - Literie confortable. - Possibilité de laisser nos bagages à l’hôtel après le Check-out. - Emplacement sécurisé. - Se trouvé à proximité du centre. Mauvais points: - Nous avons eu la mauvaise surprise de retrouver un cafard mort dans la chambre lors de notre séjour. - Salle de bain très petite et pas pratique. De plus, elle était remplie d’humidité et nous n’avions pas de savon à notre disposition. - La moisissure était omniprésente sur le plancher et les murs. - Chambre bruyante (passage des avions). - Prises de courant très hautes et difficiles d’accès. - Beaucoup d’araignées au plafond. En résumé, les points négatifs ont malheureusement primes sur les points positifs ce qui justifie notre note de 2/5.

Whilst not outstanding the Lion Hotel was more than adequate. It was clean with fairly big rooms which were comfortable. The hotel has its own café for breakfast (chargeable) and offers Bulgarian as well as continental and English breakfasts. The location was OK being just a 10 minute walk or 2 tram stops (No 27) to Serdika, the old centre of Sofia. If you want to travel to other towns in Bulgaria the Lion Hotel is just 10 minute walk to Central Bus Station and Train station. It also has a Metro station right outside the hotel. We'd be happy to stay there again.

This was a superbly situated hotel right on the corner of the pedestrian street. I stayed for nine nights. I spent some nights in a luxury room and then moved to a panorama room on the top floor which I highly recommend. Room was clean with excellent temperature controls. Firm mattress and shower with great water pressure and hot water. Fridge in room and two free bottles of water on first day. I was able to walk to all the major tourist sites. The area felt safe. Out front door and to the right is a good drug store called Remedium. I ate most of my meals on the second floor of the Sofia Central Hall which has an excellent grocery store where I bought my water, fruit and snacks. I also had breakfast included in my room rate and used their transfer service. I would stay here again!!!

We have stayed st this hotel many times but the last 2 visits have not been as good as in previous years. The main difference is that the resturant is not open so breakfast has to be taken at a sister hotel which is a short walk away. The breakfast was very poor - coffee machine not working one day, juice dispenser not working (though on 2nd visit it was but the contents were awful). The ”hot” good was lukewaarm and on the last dsy no jam ir honey. On the other hand the room was clean and comfortable and the staff were really heloful. The hotel is in a good location close to the railway and bus stations and all of Sofia is within walking distance.

We compared several properties before making the reservation here. We wanted close proximity to center, A/C, smoke free, pool. The location is fine. The ****** adjacent to the lobby is awful. It smells horrible. The smokiest place I have ever been in. Room was no smoking but smelled like smoke. There is central AC. However it is controlled by property. We asked. Days were warm and nights were cool so they had the central system set in heating. Room stayed around 25. Not terrible but not what we expected. Pool area is nice. Breakfast is nice with good selection. For the money spent we regret not renting a flat.

Hotel is indeed located in the very centre of the city, 3 minutes away from metro station. Rooms are spacious and clean. Mine was also quiet. Breakfast buffet is surprisingly poor, I enjoyed more the dinner eaten in the restaurant at the top. It offers beautiful view to the mountains and the city. It is small though. Staff is OK. I was surprised by some aspects: soap dispenser was placed far away from the sink, so it actually required a small walk; out of 3 light control panels only one worked, so there was no way to turn off the lights when in bed; info next to the mini bar (nicely stocked) said that each guest has the right to one coffee and tea capsule (I think tea bag was meant for tea). Never experienced it in hotels of this level. There was no iron board and iron in the room. Both were brought really quickly though after calling the reception.

My stay here was good, the landing photo on this page is a bit misleading, those trees on the right are now buildings. Still, decent wifi, a smart tv, comfortable beds and provided breakfast made for a nice stay. The real bonus was the location, 1 min from central train station meant i got to the airport in 30 mins. Lots of grocery stores, bakeries and cash exchange place as well

the room was satisfactory at a whole, esp with the little balcony attached for a small laundry zone, electric water kettle for making hot tea, a small refrigerator for use, a big plastic bucket in bathroom and hair dryer provided. The lightings are bright enough. TV also offered a few channels.
if a microwave or a small oven could be provided by the hotel for customers reheating their takeaway food or bread, alongside with a mini size folderable tea table, they would definitely earn an extra score by all customers.

I received excellent service from Kaloyan - Prior to arrival I contacted the hotel to let them know it was my partner’s birthday whilst we were there, he organised a lovely surprise in the room for him arriving and kindly checked in with us throughout the trip to ensure everything was good. Great service! The hotel is excellent, very clean with nice decor, executive lounge is lovely and spacious. We will definitely be staying here again when in Sofia :)

Had a wonderful stay this winter. Very quiet and pleasant place, the room was clean and tidy. Breathtaking panoramas over the snowy Sofia mountains. Definitely check out the rooftop bar! I highly recommend both for business visits and tourism. It took only 12mins from the airport of Sofia.

PPengguna TetamuCasa Ferrari was a lovely place to stay in Sofia for a couple of nights. The host, Ludmil, is simply one of the very best - he has a great knowledge of the history of Sofia (and Buglaria and the Balkan region in general) and is a great resource for sights to see, how to plan your day, getting a taxi, nice little restaurants in the area, etc. And a great conversationalist in general! He also helped me out with a last minute change of plans. The B&B has a very comfortable common area with cute furniture, there is a kitchen that one can use for basic prep, but Ludmil serves a very nice breakfast that also mixes in a selection of Bulgarian pastries and yogurt. The room itself was spotlessly clean with all the necessities, and very comfortable. The place is in a quiet area of town so there is absolutely no street noise or other disturbance at night, but it is just a few minutes walk from all the tourist areas and attractions. Highly recommend!

PPengguna TetamuI missed my flight at sofia airport so had to book a hotel for one night. So I went for a mid range hotel. It was better than mid range. Lovely helpful staff on reception, an aceptable price with thier discount....paid 68 euros for a large kingsize bed with onsuite bathroom. Comfortable bed, fresh pillows (very snazzy cushions too) and a nice relaxing corner sofa, reasonable TV and every thing was realyl clean. Complimentary coffee and tea, which is not the norm in Bulgaria, nice and quiet, was lovely and warm. Actualyl a bit too warm and I couldnt turn the heating down so I had to sleep wit hte fridge open to cool off as aircon didnt work. THis was the only negative for me. They did an airport pickup, but not a drop off and this nearly stopped me booking, as they should have told me this at the begining, however they were saved by the fact the metro was 4 stops to the airport and cost me 1.60 leva, so about 70p. I picked up food from the little shops in the metro, as I hit a holiday so the restaurants close by were closed. A very lovely stay and Id go there again. AND they had these lovely drop lights near the bed as side lights, some veyr nice touches, clean crisp sheets, soft towels and nice soaps etc and they dont ask you to leave till 12 lunch time. PPengguna TetamuPros: The hotel design is very modern and clean. The staff are nice and friendly and do everything they can to help you. This hotel is big on sustainability. They don't leave plastic bottles in your room. Instead, you have glass bottles that you can fill up everywhere in the hotel. Every floor has a drinking fountain where you can fill up your bottle.
The food was absolutely amazing. Breakfast is not a buffet. On weekdays, you have to choose between a Bulgarian or a French breakfast. At first, I was disappointed that they didn't have a simple option like an omelet; I went with the Bulgarian option. It was fantastic. Everything was fresh. On weekends, you only have an omelet option, which was also great. For dinner, I got Sea Bass and it was also great! I am fully satisfied with the food served at this hotel. The only criticism I can give is that the breakfast serving window is very small and late (8:30 am to 10:30 am if I remember correctly) and you have to wait for more than usual to get your food.
Cons: The rooms have tile floors, which look cold but are not since I believe they use floor heating. The problem is that they don't offer slippers, which I don't like, since the same tiles continue into the toilet. It doesn't feel clean.
They also don't offer toothbrushes which I would have really appreciated.
I had to unplug the fridge since the compressor made a lot of noise when turning off and on, and I'm a light sleeper.
Overall I would recommend this place if the location suits you, just bring your own slippers and enjoy the food!

Breakfast is great (considering the grade of the hotel - a variety of hot options). Great view of city and parking lot in room. Friendly staff.

Cons: no breakfast despite free breakfast being advertised on Tripadviser and mentioned on the laminated sheet in the hotel room. No restaurant open at all, despite being advertised and mentioned in hotel room. I didn’t notice until afterwards a note on ********** stating restaurant closed for a time period, but my stay was a month after this time period anyway. The staff just said “we don’t have a restaurant”. No airport shuutte despite being advertised. Bed was bigger than expected (was expecting a single bed) but very hard & uncomfortable, with a lumpy pillow. A bit rough around the edges (broken chair, broken shower door, cracked basin). Pros: Great central location. Fairly clean, fairly quiet. Air-conditioning and TV in room. Wifi was ok. Overall I would have been happy with this hotel for the low cost, if I’d known what to expect, but I booked here partially based on free breakfast and airport shuttle. They need to update their Tripadviser profile and their in-room laminated leaflet as it is currently misleading. Not a 3 star hotel in my opinion.

PPengguna TetamuI'll start with the positive points first: - I'll start with the positive points first - The minibar and the drinks at the bar are cheap Now the negative points they are effecting mostly the rooms: - The carpet is dirty and the rooms stink. Most probably they never changed the carpet since the hotel was build - The air conditioning was installed later. The hose to dispose the water from the air conditioner goes through a hose into the bathroom and ends above the bathroom floor. this means that the bathroom is always flooded when the air conditioning is on. this is definitely not acceptable. - The room cannot be darkened because the fabric of the curtains is very very thin and translucent. As soon as the sun rises it is not possible to sleep. In my case it was around 05:30AM when the sun came up. This point bothered me the most because I didn't get enough sleep on my business trip. I have visited the hotel Hemus regularly since 2017 when I have not been able to get a room elsewhere. in 2019 they had done major renovations, but I still don't understand what exactly was improved. the points just mentioned above have not been resolved. only the tv was exchanged for a flat screen and the bracket for the old tube tv was removed. Maybe this was the reason of renovation. I hope that someone from the hotel will read this as a general overhaul is urgently needed. Especially with the carpet and the curtains. There's no point in choosing a hotel to relax after a long meeting day and can't even sleep because of the windows that can't be darkened or the smell of the carpet that has never been replaced.

PPengguna TetamuHotel Rila adalah hotel lama dengan kemudahan lama, lif saiz kotak kasut tetapi di bahagian tengah bandar berhampiran dengan segala-galanya. Malam pertama kami, kami menginap di bilik kecil standard (saya rasa harganya $46 mungkin $50 dengan cukai dll) yang tidak memuaskan. Keesokan harinya untuk naik taraf $10 - $12 setiap hari kami berpindah ke bilik bersaiz dua yang luas/suite dengan 2 balkoni !! Sangat bagus untuk duduk di balkoni dengan matahari terbenam petang dan mencuci beberapa barang kain dan membiarkan matahari mengeringkannya. Kedua-dua bilik tidak mempunyai langsir pancuran di bilik mandi. Apabila saya bertanya tentang ini, saya diberitahu ini dilakukan kerana covid. Hhmmm tidak pasti bagaimana tirai mandi mempunyai kaitan dengan covid? Kami tinggal selama 7 malam dan hanya sekali, selepas saya memanggil ke meja depan, seorang pembantu rumah datang dan mengeluarkan sampah dan menukar tuala. Untuk berlaku adil, teman wanita saya mempunyai tabiat menyebarkan semua barangnya ke seluruh 2 bilik jadi kami teragak-agak untuk membuat kekecohan. Saya boleh bayangkan seorang pembantu rumah terkejut berjalan masuk dan tidak tahu apa yang perlu dilakukan dalam semua kekacauan itu. Kos sarapan adalah tambahan dan hanya ok tetapi cukup untuk memulakan hari. Terdapat TV skrin rata yang besar yang kami tidak pernah hidupkan, tiada peti deposit keselamatan di dalam bilik tetapi kami dapat meninggalkan barang berharga kami di tingkat bawah di meja depan. Terdapat juga hotel lain berdekatan yang mungkin lebih diubah suai dan moden dan kemungkinan besar kosnya lebih sedikit. Pada perjalanan seterusnya kami kemungkinan besar akan melihat tentang pilihan lain. Kakitangannya ramah dan membantu. Saya rasa ia bergantung pada jangkaan anda tetapi bagi kami ia berkesan.

PPengguna TetamuThis hotel was fine for me for 4 nights in total. The room I got was the smaller one but I didn't find it too bad. It's a cheap price so i was happy enough. Staff were mostly friendly enough. 5 Euros if you want room cleaned so I didn't bother. About 15 to 20 mins to the town which I didn't mind. The aircon worked well. Wifi not so perfectly. They need to improve its signal in rooms I think!

Breakfast was a joy having eaten banitsa for a week. Good choice of food. The decor is dated but for the convenience of location (couple 100 meters to Alexander cathedral )I can overlook that.
