Premier Inn Solihull (Hockley Heath, M42)

This is an older style premier inn which means.... Old style creaky floors Poor sound proofing from neighbouring rooms. It is however immaculately clean. I've stayed here several times with work and the staff are wonderful they are highly professional and helpful. No lift Decent van parking.

Great hotel lovely acoomadating staff who remembered us from our visit last year. Rooms are clean and spacious with an excellent evening meal and breakfast options. The EV charger is useful as well. Can't go wrong with a visit to this hotel.

What a shame! Premier plus rooms are very well decorated, bed comfy, staff friendly and rooms very clean. However there was a strong smell of boiled cabbage(sulphur?) in our room all weekend. Also we only had hand wash and body wash in our shower- no shampoo. Manager tried to convince us at check out that it was hair and body wash but bottle was clearly marked only as body wash- and hubby verified this. Also no restaurant - not told until a few days before, weeks after we had booked- and bar was empty and soulless- just us in there, in a huge empty area. Also had fire alarm on Friday night, resulting in 30 minutes standing outside in cold wet carpark during storm Darragh at 1am as alarm could not be switched off by manager on her 1st fire alarm and reading from the manual! Alarm went off again at 9am on Sunday morning, so obviously faulty somewhere! As I said, what a shame as decor and comfort was high standard but let down by a few bad points.

Very clean rooms very well put together and extremely comfy bed, Abbie was super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable in answering my questions about the area on the reception desk, Nadja on the bar was also very friendly and knowledgeable in the drinks available and made great recommendations for where to go for food as unfortunately the restaurant at this premier inn is closed due to staff shortages, Nadja recommended the rum punch cocktail after asking what kind of drinks I usually go for and it was amazing, superb service both at the bar and at reception. Will definitely return.

Excellent location for the NEC if you are going to a show or exhibition. You get Premier Inn quality so lovely room and great sleep. The Restaurant was closed but plenty of places to eat nearby. Be aware there are 2 Premier Inns in the area, make sure you know which one you have booked.

This would have received a higher rating but for a couple of issues we ran into. It was a surprise to find out, just a couple of days before our visit, that the restaurant would be closed for evening meals - it is important, and could have been mentioned at the time of booking! Also we asked for our room to be cleaned one morning, but came back to find it untouched. The saving grace was delivered by Charlotte, who looked after us at breakfast on two mornings. She was thoroughly efficient and hard-working, but also had that lovely human touch that we welcome so much. She is a credit to Premier Inn.
