Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. Magnifique hôtel . Tout était parfait . La chambre est très propre , la piscine à l'étage est superbe . La spa est très grand . Le personnel est attentionné . Le quartier est animé donc on entend de la musique mais cela ne dérange pas .

I was very happy that they treated me kindly and courteously without showing any dislike at all, even though my understanding of English was not good at all.

Was given a TV with a damaged screen. 3 of the 8 nights we stayed there, we were forced to take cold showers because there was no hot water. Bed sheets and towels not fully clean, even had towels arrive late in the day with holes in them. You are unable to change the temperature of your room as the air conditioning controls are locked. The temperature of your room is dictated by hotel staff and you are unable to change it. Room flooded one night due to shower not properly draining. No proper bathroom, just a see-through curtain to cover the shower. Excessive noise from outside every night, rooms were not built to be sound proofed making it very difficult to sleep. Was also given rolls of toilet paper covered in mould for the last 2 nights. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody. It is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Excellent place to stay in the heart of St. Julian’s. Had a very pleasant stay after a horrific experience in a nearby hotel (Carlton Hotel). Anna the receptionist was a wonderful person, I asked to see the room prior to booking it and she did plus all her help for me during my 4 days stay. The room was outstanding with a beautiful big balcony right on the bay with wonderful views. The room was well maintained and super clean with everything you can need. Large king bed with fluffy linen and good pillows. There was hair dryer and water heater, coffee & tea. Also a mini fridge and modern furniture. Bathroom was small but very clean and modern with no issues. Elevator is small but fairly new. Breakfast was also included. Palmena the manager was also very welcoming. Vishnu the male receptionist was very nice upon my checkout and held my bags as I was leaving town later in the day. Special thanks to Anna as she made sure everything was comfortable and that I’m happy with my stay. Definitely coming back and very highly recommended.

Rooms are comfortable and clean. Bathrooms are spacious. Breakfast was nicely varied either hot and cold food plus snacks and nibbles. I could eat different styles each of the 7 days I was there. The room at the rear of the hotel either the communal open space ( not sure how to best describe it…. Can be a pain as noise from rooms reverberates. People talking loudly, laughing, music etc echo’s. Not great if you are trying to sleep and the night people are partying…. Staff are very professional and helpful

I will start by saying what a great hotel, a great location and the rooftop pool is a great little area. But the hotel staff are useless, We had paid for our trip in advance and paid for breakfast and upgraded to a room with a balcony and a view. I will note that we had 2 bookings 1 for the first night and a booking for the 3 following nights as we changed our travel plans due to flight costs and had a extra day.on arrival at 4pm ( check in is 3pm, we were told our room wasnt ready and we needed to pay, i told tge guy we had paid and had to get proof that i had, we were also told we hadnt booked breakfast or paid the upgrade again i had to find the proof, eventually all was sorted and we finally got into our room Next day we went down for breakfast and were refused entry as we ”hadnt paid” again we had to wait whilst it was checked, to then be allowed in. Later on that day we recieved a call to the room asking if the room was ok and do we need anything, we asked for a littpe milk for tea and within minutes it arrived, 10 minutes later the phone rang again and it was reception saying that we hadnt paid and if we dont go down straight away and pay it we have to leave. Again i had to go down and sort it.. finally all sorted... till departure, we werevthen told we hadnt paid the city tax, and even tho a trainee receotion lad said to the lady he was there when we paid it, she said if its not on the system we pay.. its only a few euros but its incompetence. The room itself is nice, spacious and comfy beds with a fantastic shower. The roof top pool is a great sun trap too.. Breakfast was nice, and lots of choice with real orange juice A good stay but ruined a bit by staff not doing there jobs

Really lovely hotel. Clean. Great location. Close enough to all the great attractions and shops but far enough from all the noise so you still get a great night's sleep. Fantastic service from everyone at Hyatt from the receptionists (Ben and I didn't get the name of the lady who worked with him but I think it may have been Laura?) to the doorman Hoque. Would highly recommend. PS lovely sunset from the 11th floor where the pool is

Hotel is lovely and clean. Deluxe marina view was well worth the upgrade. Lovely views on an evening. It is a little outside the main town which we were glad of, but means there's not much local in the way of shops to be able to grab water/general supplies. Dining staff were lovely as we're cleaning staff. Reception staff were efficient but not overly welcoming. There is a bit of building working going on but haedly noticeable. I would definitely retun and will recommend to others.

I was initially leery to stay in the youthful party hub of pacerville, as I'm traveling as a solo traveler to see history, but I was pleasantly surprised. No noises at night and overall a pleasant stay at the hotel. Good amenities including 2 pools, a small but usable gym and a large variety of good each morning. Hotel staff were polite and helpful. If you are looking for a reasonably priced place to stay in St. Julians I'd recommend here. Very close to a supermarket, some nice restaurants, the beach, and enough bars to whet anyone's appetite for party.
