PPengguna Tanpa NamaHouse owner is so sweet and welcoming. She provided us everything about nikko to her best knowledge and even show us around the house. She even provided free bf despite not included. She gift us something that she handmade before we leave too. Will defitenely come again. Thank you Obachannnn 😄
Only downside is that smoke smell lingers around the room because Ojiisan smokes 😂

EEmily Rose LWe loved our stay here! The onsen is so delightful- a nice view of the river to enjoy while you soak. I wanted to keep the turtle print pajamas- very cute. The breakfast was good and the snacks and tea were perfect for us when it rained. The location is not far from the bus stop, restaurants, and the amazing wonderful jiro statues.

BBKMWVery interesting ryokan with a reasonable onsen to experience. Simple but good breakfast and dinner included in our package. A bit hassle to go but for the Kamakura festival, it's okay.

The room i got was considerably larger than i expected. Food was exceptionally great, the innkeeper was very considerate to accomodate to my request to replace the original pork patty meal with pasta. They were also very kind enough to give me free handwarmer when i mentioned that i was looking for it at any store around for my hike to mt nantai.

PPengguna TetamuI went to Yumoto for hiking and found this wonderful place. The staffs are very helpful. Although, they cannot fully communicate in English. They are trying their best to make sure my stay is the best experience I have.
Room is clean and has no AC.
Breakfast and dinner are traditional Japanese course and I love them.
About Onsen, it might not be in the best condition but it is good enough.
If I have a chance to return to Nikko, I will stay at this place again.

PPengguna TetamuTradition roycan. You will sleep on thin madraces. The food was included in the price and was very good. Shared showers and bathrooms but it works because many come for fishing and go up early.
Recommend if you want something traditional! You need to be open minded to new food if western. We liked it for 2 days perfect.

Jjlow123Most of the reviews are outdated so I thought I'd give an updated review. For one thing, there is WiFi (I have informed the landlady that the website indicates otherwise).
This place is a traditional-style inn. You'll be sleeping in a futon (some Google-fu should help you know how to use one), use two pairs of slippers (one for moving around the house, one exclusively for the toilet) and will also bathe in a Japanese-style shared bathroom. The front gate and bathroom close at 10pm, which is not an issue as everywhere in Nikko closes early and it's too dark to hike outdoors (in early Autumn).
We loved using the onsen to relax after a day of strolling around and hiking, and the delicious Japanese-style breakfast was lovingly prepared by a friendly old granny. The premises are old but well-maintained. Toilets, bathroom and onsen were great but we were there during off-peak season so we didn't need to share so much. Should we return to Nikko, this place will be our first choice!

PPengguna TetamuThis hotel was in a very beautiful, peaceful location. The room was very large with a shower room separate from the toilet. There were a couple of parking spaces, I would recommend driving as the stores are a bit farther away from this hotel

Завтрак и ужин были очень вкусные и большие, так что днём нам даже не хотелось обедать во время прогулки. В номере всё чисто и аккуратно. Место тихое и красивое. Рядом большой супермаркет со всем необходимым. Остановка автобуса на водопады и озеро тоже очень близко. Также поблизости находится публичный онсен, там тоже хорошо отдохнули. В общем нам всё очень понравилось! Спасибо!
