"Location: Fantastic! Both train stations and the bus terminal are within sight, making transportation incredibly convenient. There's a large supermarket about 600-700 meters away, which is great for groceries. Room: The triple room isn't small, and the beds are comfortably firm. The heating in the room was a bit strong, and a humidifier would have been nice. Amenities: You can pick up various toiletries at the front desk. On the first floor, there's a self-service coffee and tea bar, which is lovely for relaxing with a drink and enjoying the view after a day out. The hot spring has both indoor and outdoor pools, but there are only five showers. If you go during off-peak hours, it's not crowded. The large public bath only has a hairdryer, no lotions or anything else. Breakfast: The menu changes daily. While not super extensive, the overall quality is excellent. The Japanese curry rice is delicious, and the bread is also good."

"Pleasant stay. Hotel is kind of near top of the hill. There’s a pantry by the lobby and also a dining table. Coffee bean machine which is great. There is no restaurant for breakfast. Have to use coupon to redeem breakfast from reception. Japanese breakfast, cold. But there is a food truck outside the hotel which is convenient for hot breakfast like toast. So far room is cozy and water shower pressure is good. Some stains on the wall in the toilet."

Breakfast and dinner can be reserved according to your itinerary; the breakfast is quite standard (Figure 3). The most impressive part was the Western-style dinner. The comfortable setting, fresh ingredients, meticulously prepared, and beautifully presented, rivaled anything found at a Michelin-starred restaurant. This meal alone was worth half the price of the room and a truly unexpected surprise!"

"I was able to check in smoothly with valet parking, and checked in while enjoying welcome tea in the open lounge. The room was lovely, and I especially enjoyed sitting on the chairs on the balcony and enjoying the view of the Kinugawa River and the cool autumn air. The food was delicious, and it was nice to see a selection of local Tochigi sake. Breakfast was also great. The young and cute staff member who showed me around was also very kind. The only thing I noticed was that the shampoo and soap in the bath were not very good, so next time I'll bring my favorite ones with me."

"The main advantages of this hotel are its traditional ryokan-style atmosphere, the on-site hot spring baths, and its convenient location. Several tourist attractions and bus stops are within walking distance, and the room rates are reasonable. However, the service was extremely disappointing. On the day of check-out, the hotel only allowed luggage storage until 12:00 PM. After check-out, guests were not permitted to use any of the hotel’s facilities, including the restroom. Instead, we were told to use the public restroom next door. Because of the poor customer service and lack of flexibility, I would not recommend staying here."

The breakfast contain pastries and coffee, jus, milk, the pastries are great. They provide you with microwave oven. I love the place, the room quite spacious. Nikko is very nice place but a little bit pricey, the food, the transportation, we only spend there for 2 days, and it was colder than other city."

"Upon arriving, you can tell the hotel had its glorious days, and it's clearly put in a lot of effort to survive and remain standing in Kinugawa! The room was spacious and clean, and the staff even helped set up the futons while we were at dinner. The room rate included two buffet meals, both of which offered a good variety and quality of food. However, 90 minutes for dinner felt very rushed. I initially chose this hotel because the photos of the open-air onsen looked very appealing. But I was quite disappointed with the onsen facilities here. The hotel has three hot springs: the main bath on the 1st floor of the main building, the open-air onsen on the 13th floor, and the bathhouse in the annex. It turned out the open-air onsen was tiny, and the changing area was also very small. The strangest thing was that there were only four shower stalls, and they only had body wash – no shampoo or conditioner (which is really odd). Yet, the main bath on the 1st floor had over 20 different types of shampoo to choose from (bizarre!). I ended up having to wash my hair back in the room, but in the summer heat of June, it took an incredibly long time for the hot water to come on. I visit many onsen hotels in Japan every year. While this hotel's rooms and dining were decent, its onsen was the most disappointing I've encountered. And the room rate wasn't cheap either, so I won't be considering staying here again!"

"Choosing this hotel for our trip to Nikko was a great decision. The price was perfect for someone on a regular budget. The hotel was clean, and its location near Tobu Nikko Station was fantastic, about 300 meters if you follow the right navigation. My navigation kept changing directions after I got off the train, so I had to ask a local shop owner for directions, and then it was easy to find. Just walk a few steps down the small road past the post office, and you're there. The hotel offers free breakfast to all guests, and it's quite good! The room was clean, and the view from the window was lovely, with mountains and clouds, very picturesque! There's also a large supermarket across the street where you can buy delicious and reasonably priced sashimi."

"The hotel is located next to the main onsen street, about a 10-minute walk from Kinugawa Onsen Station, but it's still acceptable. We stayed on the 8th floor, which offered a beautiful river view. Although the hotel is a bit old, it's spacious and you can feel its former glory. The outdoor onsen was small, but the view of Kinugawa was wonderful. The front desk staff were also very friendly. The buffet dinner was particularly noteworthy—it was incredibly abundant, and you could even make your own sushi-yaki! We only stayed one night, but it was very comfortable, except for a slight urine smell in the bathroom. Otherwise, it was quite nice."

"Very good hostel, better than in the pictures. We had a room for 4 people with private toilet, only the shower to share. The onsen is very clean and contains two pools inside and outside. Two washing machines and two dryers are available with additional payment. Kitchen is big and clean. The hotel is far from the main activity of Nikko (Nikkō Tōshō-gū and a hike with waterfalls). The train system even if you take Nikko pass in Tokyo is not perfect because it requires to take additional tickets for an express train, because it is not included in the pass."
