Premier Inn Birmingham North (S.Coldfield)

Picked this hotel as a base whilst visiting friends in the area and I don't regret it at all. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were comfy and had no problem getting a good night's sleep. There's ample parking at the back which is free for hotel guests. Just make sure to enter your registration when checking in. The sizzling pub part of the Green King Inns chains is adjoining the hotel meaning you have affordable food on your doorstep should you need it. It's also where they serve breakfast should you book it through the hotel. We had breakfast and it was lovely. Everything was cooked to our liking. Plenty of choice with a good selection of cereals and pastries. The price was also very reasonable and well worth the amount we paid. Would definitely return and stay when we plan on visiting our friends again.

As always this hotel is accommodating. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. This is the reason why we travel over 80 miles to come here................................................................

We’ve stayed here before. On paper it is a good base to use when we are visiting friends. This time, we were slightly taken aback at the cost of our family room. We usually view it as a cheap and cheerful option. This time it was neither. Next time we’ll spend a little more elsewhere, for a far more comfortable experience. One additional issue was the fire alarm going off in the early hours requiring us to gather in our nightwear in the car park. The night manager handled it superbly but it took forever. Loads of people vaping and smoking around us. No fire found but probable smoking/vaping in the rooms was mentioned as a possible cause. Early the next morning, the gardens were being cleared by an exceptionally noisy leaf blower; sleep and rest had totally evaded us by this time. The night staff aside, the whole offering is sloppy. The carpark is a mass of potholes, booking in took forever as the member of staff was having a lengthy telephone conversation and we have learnt to avoid the risible breakfast. Avoid: there are much better ways to spend your money and your night!

I could not watch the TV, l had not come down to reception l was told it free to air. I can not even watch what is going round in the world. Could l really spend my holiday here? Thank God for Kathy who made some things easy for me. I needed to charge my phone for the week she was really helpful.

I stayed at the hotel yesterday 19th oct 24. Staff friendly and professional. My room was spotless and comfortable. I'd like to thank Bobby who checked us in. And Craig wh checked us out. Both are a credit to tge brand. I would definitely stay again.

We were in room 6 on the ground floor. It’s an accessible room with a low bath. The room could do with a freshen up. Basic cleanliness was ok. It would benefit from a deeper clean, grout redoing etc. We had breakfast in the adjoining pub, which was very poor. Despite the information saying breakfast was open until 11am, the sign in the door said last orders for cooked items was 9.20am. The continental section was cleared away at 10am. Sausages were cheap and had been deep fried. Bacon was barely cooked. Fried eggs dripping in oil with solid yolks. Fresh tomatoes barely warm, certainly not cooked. All served on cold plates. The staff were really lovely. Couldn’t fault them at all.
