Walking distance to train or bus station. Helpful staff, doesn't always speak English but uses a translation app. Great check-in, neat spacious comfortable rooms [402], with bottles of water offered. At certain times onsen opened. The old town is close by, and every morning there is a morning market along the river, nice. Several restaurants and attractions nearby.

Extremely well located if you want to be right next to the train station and bus station - my room overlooked the tracks. Provision of washing machine and dryer is a superb bonus inroom as are the full cooking facilities. The hotel intelligently provides basics such as oil, salt, coffee, tea and even a couple of detergent sachets for the washing. Strangelt though, no knives or other cutting implements of any kind. A tip if you intent to cook. The Family Mart opposite is basic, but there is a huge supermarket under the tracks and just beyond MacDonalds where you can get international food as well as Japanese. Slightly dreary corridors and a reception crowded with people waiting for their room to become available. But on the plus side they let me into my room early as I was unwell at the time.

Superbe hôtel, complètement neuf bonne taille de chambres , à côté de la gare, mais, pas de bruit et pas loin de quartiers traditionnels de la ville. Onsen à l'intérieur, possibilité de le réserver pour 45mn. Grande découverte, tout confort, cet hôtel à plein de petits détails pour un excellent séjour et bien entendu son personnel et toujours aux petits soins avec nous, d'une énorme gentillesse .

Room was pretty spacious by Japanese standards. I enjoyed that they offered three private onsens that you could use at no additional cost with no reservation required. Free ice cream is available after your bath. There are hotels closer to JR Takayama Station but it’s still a reasonable walking distance.

Hotel is in a very good location being very near to the Old Town where the attractions and restaurants are. However there is limited parking space, and we had to park in a public car park 100m away. Staff were friendly, but communication was a little difficult as they were not very conversant in English. Overall nice hotel.

This hotel provided great service and clean accommodations. I love that hotels in Japan provide pajamas and toothbrushes. This hotel had two public baths. It's nice that they have one bath where the water is not as hot. We had the dinner buffet. It included American and chinese offerings. You receive a ticket for one serving of the Hida beef. I thought the food was good. I like that the portions are small, so you can try a lot of things. We also had the breakfast buffet which included Takayama specialty items too. There is a large souvenir shop in the hotel, so you are able to pick up gifts. I thought the prices are comparable to other gift shops. The hotel offers a free shuttle to the train station. It is a 7 minute walk to the train station, so it's not so bad. They only have two shuttles that go to Takayama Jinya (government house) which is across the bridge from Sanmachi Suji. Otherwise it's at least a 20-25 minute walk. I wish they had more shuttles to that area. There is not much to look at on the way from the hotel to Sanmachi. As Takayama becomes more popular with tourists, most of the hotel staff and store owners are able to communicate in English. Overall, I enjoyed my time at the hotel and would stay there again.

It's my fault for not upgrading to a superior room because the standard rooms are very small. That said, it was well designed and used every available bit of space. The small double bed was pushed against the wall so not ideal for 2 people. Luckily the corridor/space beside the bathroom was quite wide so I was just able to open my large suitcase. There was a nice light duvet on the bed and hard/seed pillows. The bathroom was compact but allowed for a deepish bath. The air conditioning was powerful. There was a TV but there were no English tv channels. There was a small armchair to sit in and a table, a desk/dressing table, a stool and various ledges to put stuff on. There was no in room safe. The breakfast was ok. Self service with cereal and rolls as well as a lot of Japanese choices. My room was on the ground floor and there was parking outside. The hotel provided a shuttle to get to the town centre which was convenient but allow enough time to find the bus stop for the return. I very nearly missed it because I couldn't make sense of the map provided (you had to go inside the train station and up and over the railway tracks to get to the right bus stop!). It was perfectly adequate for one night but if I was to return I'd chose a hotel in the centre of town so that restaurants and shopping/sightseeing is easier to get to.

Kami menempah di sini selama 2 malam, kerana kami di sini, kami harus merasakan keselesaan di tempat ini. Sarapan dan makan malam memang enak, tetapi rasanya agak masin dan boleh diterima. Mata air panas sangat bergaya, serba lengkap dan bersih, dan mata air panas untuk lelaki dan wanita akan ditukar untuk lelaki dan wanita. Bilik ini boleh ditempah untuk dua orang. Keesokan harinya kami menukar bilik dan fikir ia akan menjadi lebih besar, tetapi ia sebenarnya dua bilik, jadi ia tidak perlu. Dan pemandangan di tepi sungai adalah sama. Pekan Furukawa tidak besar, jadi tidak banyak pilihan hotel. Yang ini mempunyai sejarah yang panjang. Kebersihan tidak memberikan markah yang tinggi kerana terdapat serpihan dan habuk di atas meja, dan terdapat habuk pada kosmetik di dalam bilik. Ini yang saya ambil berat.

PPengguna TetamuWe were lucky to stay at Mercure Takayami on their opening night. Everything about the hotel was above our expectations. Rooms were a very comfortable with attention to detail. Having USB and USB C charging ports for our electronics next to the bed was very convenient and meant we didn't need to search for our Japan power adaptors. This hotel has been well designed with a focus on local traditional carpentry and joinery skills. When you book this hotel make sure you book a room that includes access to the private Onsen. We had an open-air experience while we watched the snow from our private onsen. Breakfast had an extensive range of Tradition Hida dishes and Western choices, with different options available each day. This was a great way to try Hida Beef Curry and Hida chicken cooked on a traditional grill. Staff were very helpful going above and beyond with their dedicated and personal service, even searching the internet for me to find a store that sold Yama Cola. We will be back to stay again and will try to stay longer next time.

CChoi TYIt is probably the most conveniently located hotel in Takayama, just right next to the Takayama JR train station and bus terminal. The room I stayed in has excellent view of the city, the train station and the surrounding mountains in the distance. As with most Japanese hotels, the room size is not large, but is comfortable enough for a couple or including a small child. There is even a washing machine and a microwave oven inside the room. The hotel staff are friendly and speak good English. Restaurant is on the 2nd floor, and there are also Onsen bath facilities. The restaurant does not serve lunch and dinner need reservation. There are restaurants near the old town area, which is about 10 to 15 minutes walking distance East of the hotel. The location of the hotel near to the JR station and bus terminal make it an excellent base station to explore the nearby tourist locations like Shirakawa and other places for day-trip visits. It is also easily accessible from Nagoya, which is just 2.5 hours away by local trains. Shirakawa-go is 50 minutes away by local bus from the bus terminal beside the train station. The Takayama park (South East of old town area) is definitely worth exploring especially during the autumn when the fall foliage is really spectacular.

TTUTripperWonderful guest house, full of interesting artefacts and traditional Japanese trinkets. Traditional stay with modern amenities. Our family of 4 loved our stay here during April 2024. The owners are very welcoming into their home and they go to a lot of effort to make our stay happy and comfortable. A traditional Japanese Breakfast meal is provided. The food is delicious and plentiful. Sleeping is Japanese style on tatami mats and comfortable futon mattresses. The rooms and beds are warm and cosy, even when it is cold outside. The bathrooms are clean and modern, and the hot bath was a very welcome relief from the days of walking. The location is very convenient with a 1 minute walk to the Miyagawa morning markets and other interesting locations. The house is an easy 15 minute walk to Takayama station. Highly recommend. We loved our stay here!

PPengguna TetamuHodakaso Yamano Hotel Old and well maintained hotel tucked in the mountains. Exudes an old world charm where you forget the hustle and bustle of urban life. Welcoming service upon arrival where the concierge comes running to unload your luggages. The room was basically comfortable with no frills. The attraction of this hotel was in the many pockets of activity to enthuse with. There was a cosy foot bath tucked in one corner on your way to the elevator. The highlight was a lovely all natural outdoor onsen 5 min walk from the hotel - owned by the hotel - opens from 5 am to 11 pm. The only access to the outdoor onsen was to take a 1-min slope lift down the steep slope. They were changing rooms but no bathing facilities at this outdoor onsen. The experience here was truly magical, soaking in the Hotspring, surrounded by natural forest and mountains, while watching the sunset. The onsen bath within the hotel was small and simple. The food served for dinner was acceptable. Breakfast was decent too. On the whole, the experience was quite magical.

Room is comfort, and the TV is smart TV which we can watch netflix or youtube. We definitely had great time there. Moreover, the location is good, only few steps away from train station and historical street. Highly recommended

MMGG82Vicinissimo alla stazione, si raggiunge in pochi minuti l'edificio, si prende la scala mobile e si sale al primo piano dove è presente la reception. Le stanze doppie sono nella media delle stanze giapponesi, quindi piccole, ma tutto sommato tranquille. Nell'hotel è presente servizio di lavanderia fai-da-te ed è possibile (anche se non ci sono andato) usufruire dell'onsen; difficoltà di comunicazione con il personale della reception. La cosa più simpatica dell'hotel resta il sarubobo gigante (ossia la bambola-amuleto tipica della cittadina) che staziona all'ingresso della reception. Consigliato per chi è di passaggio per Takayama e per chi vuole una base di partenza per la visita al caratteristico paese di Shirakawa-go.

お湯が良かったです。露天は硫黄の臭いが漂い、大量のお湯を流しています。タイミングの問題なのか温泉は空いており、十二分に楽しめました。また、混浴ゾーンですが、湯浴みについての説明もあり事前にそういう温泉だということがわかっていれば、安心して入れます。ただ、混浴ゾーンは露天ゾーン以上に空いており、5分ほど、私一人しかいないのではないかという時間帯ありました。ホームページにある緑色のお湯はそこにあるんだけどなあ。やはり混浴は湯浴みを着てもハードル高いんだろうか。一応、そこまで気にしなくて良いと書いておきます。ちなみに、天皇泉の方は行ってません。さすがにちょっとハードル高そうかな。部屋は割と広かったので満足です。夕食は飛騨牛一口ステーキ定食を予約しておいたのでいただきました。小学生はご飯が少ないのと、コーヒーゼリーがアイスに変わっただけで同じメニューだったのは驚きでした。早めに食べたせいかレストランは空いており、ちょっと寂しい雰囲気でした。みんなもっと遅い時間に動くのかな。ステーキの味や柔らかさはよかったですが、煮物は辛かったようで子供には肉以外は不評でした。たしかに味付けは大人っぽかったかな。朝食はチェックイン時に頼めますが、モーニングセット一択です。パンにハムエッグ（下から青いローソクの炎で温めるタイプ）、ヨーグルトとドリンクバーです。これまた、人少ない。8時頃でしたが遅い？もしかして、週末でしたがそんなに泊まってる人いなかった？このあたりには朝食ポイントは少ないように思うのですが、みんな早出なのか持ち込んでるのか本当に謎。ちなみにドリンクバーはコーラ、カルピスが欠品するというお粗末さ。あと、コーヒーも別にマシンがあってドリップしてるようにみえるのですが味は微妙だったかな。利用者少なくて豆が回転してないのかなと思ってみたり。味は朝夕食とも悪くなかったのですが、なんか見せ方で損してる感じです。値段と比べると、頑張ってるのでしょうが、特に食事は雰囲気がちょっと残念かな。子供の利用も少ないように思いました。子供の利用が多いことが善とは思いませんが… 温泉は文句なく良いです。混浴ゾーンもきちんと注意書き見て入って欲しいですが、そもそも混浴というのが心理的に入りづらいんでしょうかね。いいお湯なのに勿体ないなと思いました。

PPengguna Tetamu宿のパンフレットにある言葉、「はるか、遠い昔にであったような」。そんな時間が流れているお宿です。「鄙の湯」の鄙は鄙びたのひなです。部屋は広く12畳位でベッドやテーブル椅子セットがありました。また広縁と部屋を囲む縁側がありました。またトイレには男性用の立ちトイレもあり、宿に男性用トイレがあるのは珍しいよねと話しました。後から聞くと、この部屋のみ男子用かあるとの事です。冷房を切っても外からいい風が入ってきて、ヒグラシが鳴いているのが聞こえ、風呂上がりには二人とも昼寝してしまいました。温泉はほんのりと硫黄の匂いがしました。内湯が熱湯で、露天風呂がぬる湯で、今の暑い時期、とても快適でした。源泉かけ流しの良い温泉です。お風呂には化粧水などは置いて無いので、お部屋に用意してもらっているアメニティセットをお持ちになった方が良いです。お風呂の近くに休憩処があります。冷たいお茶を飲んでいると網戸越しに外から涼しい風が入ってきて「夕涼みだなぁ。」と以前の夏が懐かしくなりました。今はどこも暑すぎです。夏の高原宿は涼しくていいですね。お休み処では、穂高や槍ヶ岳などのビデオをテレビで流しており、ゆったり冷たい物を飲みながら、見ました。夕食ですが、違う部屋の個室に用意してくれました。ひな盛りは色どり鮮やかでいろんな種類の夏の旬の野菜が沢山の前菜でした。お造りは岩魚と地元サーモン、焼き物は鮎の姿焼き、陶板焼きの一口ステーキは飛騨牛でした。ご飯はそのまま食べるわっぱ飯とユニークでした。地酒は地酒一合が660円で、お料理に良く合いました。朝食も個室にていたたんきました。フグの一夜干しやお豆腐が美味しく、焼いた朴葉みそでご飯をおかわりしてしまいました。食後はフロントエリアのラウンジで、コーヒーをいただきました。コーヒーカップはカップウォーマーに入っており、熱々のコーヒーが好きな私には、気遣いを感じました。特に冬などはせっかくのコーヒーサービスもカップが冷たくなっててコーヒーもぬるくなってしまうからです。ラウンジでは、心地良いクラッシック音楽がかかっていてリラックスしました。精算時がキャッシュオンリーな事だけか、キャッシュレス派なので、残念な点です。もの静かな女将とご主人様が宿のコンセプトをしっかり持っておられると感じられました。14時イン11時アウトでいい温泉に4回も入り、本当にくつろげた滞在となりました。

DDuboisTristanThis place was absolute amazing! By far our favorite place from our whole trip. The location was absolutely perfect for the Takyama festival. We were literally right there with shops and street vendors 50 yards away and the parades would have been right there as well if they weren't canceled due to rain. The rooms were humble and traditional and really added to the experience. The tea in the room was exceptionally good and the traditional Japanese breakfast they served was also delicious and fun to eat. We didn't even know they had a legitimate hot spring on site, but they did! They are Japanese style baths so be ready for that, but the water was therapeutic and so relaxing. I cant recommend this place enough and I would absolute make it a point to visit Takyama and stay here again for a few days on our next trip to Japan. They were such great kind hosts. And I cant believe the price, what an great value. Do yourself a favor and stay here. I'm not sure why the other bad reviews are here I read some of them and they sound like entitled stupid American tourists so ignore them and stay here.
