5/5 Met my cousin for a family get together. Bev looked after us so well. The room we booked was lovely and clean. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was fantastic. The wine list was great too. Staff were really helpful and the parking convenient. We had breakfast in the morning before heading out to the local shops. Love Tenterden!

Had a lovely overnight stay at the White Lion, the room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had a room facing the High Street but it was still very quiet, the bed was super comfortable, shower excellent. It was nice to have fresh milk for the teas and coffees. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

We were celebrating my sister’s birthday, so an overnight stay and a visit to the vineyard for a tour and dinner close by. All did not go to plan as an electric cable had come down over the vineyard so we were unable to attend site, this is where the staff at the white lion really stepped up, So n returning to the hotel I told the staff about the situation they made sure we had an excellent dinner and threw in a free desert, they made sure we were catered for , we enjoyed the live entertainment and even had our picture on the website a couple of days later This was my 3rd visit to the White Lion and I would definitely recommend it, it’s quirky and very welcoming

"Sumptuous" possibly best sums up the room. Bed enormous and firm, pillows positively billowing, probably the best stocked and varied refreshments table I've ever seen (though not all of it free), and the shower/bath facility broadly very good, but... lighting was a bit low (do you *want* mood lighting in the bathroom?) even with the mirror light on, and *please*, designers, don't put a shelf right over the basin so I bang my head every time I clean my teeth! Soap dispensers.... not clever. Very posh and twee, but hopeless to use in the shower with wet soapy hands. I get you want to avoid one-time plastics, but why not install wall-mounted push-button dispensers? Having said that, the towels were amazing, and bathrobes too - enough soft towelling to hibernate in - wonderful! Just one query about the loo seat - no, it wasn't loose, or been pushed aside, it was very firmly fixed - off centre. Why??? If you like quirky olde worlde places to stay, but with modern facilities, you'll love this place. HOWEVER... we stayed on what turned out to be the hottest days of the year, and despite a huge bay window the ONLY opener was the centre lower sash, and that lifted only 3 inches. Being covered by a net didn't help so night time was very hot and very stuffy, even with the provided fan running all night. White Lion, *please* improve the ventilation in this room (Rye). (We didn't eat in, purely because we wanted to sample all the eateries around the area).

A one night stay as we were attending a function elsewhere in Tenterden. A lovely, quirky room as one might hope to have in an old inn such as this. Absolutely spotless and well- appointed with a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was as good as one could hope to get. Staff were friendly and helpful. Private car park behind the Hotel. What's not to like.

nice beds good size comfortable room, hated the shower over the bath. i am quite tall and there was not enough head room . kept bumping head on beam / ceiling . Could have done with rail to help getting in and out. Staff lovely , beer good and food was ok as well very quiet being a sunday night . Good parking

Spent New Years Eve for the second time in this lovely hotel. Centrally placed in the heart of Tenterden for easy access to all the wonderful shops. Our twin room was perfect. The single beds were large and very comfortable, with plenty of pillows. The room was warm without being too hot. The tea and coffee supplies were plentiful along with some extra goodies you could purchase as extras. There have been many times we have stayed in a hotel and just wanted some extra nibbles but didn't want to have to venture out for them. These were perfect. We had a full English breakfast as part of our package that was delicious (I couldn't eat all of mine which is very unusual). The staff were very helpful-they couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be returning!

Stayed here recently as we were on the K & ES Railway diner. I mention this as we did not eat it. Very nice, modern but olde worlde atmosphere. Nice choice of cask ales & menu looked good. Busy place but it was NYE & it reflects popularity. Our room was spacious & well stocked tea coffee etc too. Comfortable bed with good range of pillows too. Super friendly & helpful staff A must if you are in the area
