Old Mill Rooms

We stayed here over Christmas. It was a good location for visiting family and they are nice rooms. There’s a few things that could really make this better though, and not major changes. Firstly the double mattress in the Barn Room has seen better days so a swap out there would really help - it was uncomfortable and my wife chose to sleep on the cot bed instead. Secondly the shower did tend to go a bit hot and cold for the second person using it - which wasn’t awful but just a bit frustrating. Finally - no fridge. We were there for three days and it’s a self contained room not a hotel. There was very generous tea and coffee and biscuits provided but nowhere for is to store anything cold. I am dairy free so the UHT milk provided wasn’t ok for me and my son wanted something soft to drink. A small fridge to put cold drinks in isn’t just a nice to have - I’d say it’s important for a set up like this. Having said all that - that’s hopefully just constructive criticism. These are nice rooms in a good spot for the local area and I would recommend them - especially with a few tweaks.

Turned up, our key wasn't in the box we were allocated and no one was answering our calls or emails, luckily yarm cottages next door had a room available. Absolute joke of a place, do not book here 😡 they have zero customer service and are so incompetent

What a fantastic stay at The Old Mill Rooms. The bed and pillows were Devine, the room was small however had everything you needed and lovely and toastie. The hot tub was fantastic and brought a great end to our evening with wine and bubbles. Will be definitely booking again, have already tried for January but fully booked the dates we wanted :( Thank you guys

Second visit for us and location, room and staff are still as outstanding as our 1st visit. A massive shout out to Carmen and Lisa for a friendly welcome and brilliant customer service, they couldnt have been more accomodating to make our stay an absolute pleasure. See you both soon.

Absolute hidden gem. I had gotten tickets to the BTCC at nearby Croft (literally 15mins drive away) and was looking for a place to stay over the weekend but wanted to make a trip of it with a hot tub somewhere, we’ll I was about to give up when I found this place and WOW I’m glad I did. What a absolute GEM of a property and rooms. We booked the Granary for one night and it was BEAUTIFUL, the setting of the Old Mill itself is fantastic. I’d mayby say they could us a sign at the top of the lane that shows where it is, as you can easily miss the turn in, or end up in the pub car park like I did haha. But as soon as you get there and you see how pretty the site is. Huge front garden with a communal hot tub as advertised, with the mill in front of you and to the right the rooms you can pick. We had the Granary which had its own private Hottub. I had received a text message earlier in the day with my check in instructions and it was self service with directions to a key box and to help myself with the code provided. Parking was easy on the numbered bays. We entered our room and it’s a good size room with a lovely double bed, a wardrobe and a bed side table on one side of the bed and a table the other side which we had a Kettle, and Tassimo machine with some pods and also a bottle of Buck’s Fizz, 2 Budweisers and a box of chocolates, such a small gesture but such a lovely thing to provide. The toilet wash room was lovely and modern, the ONLY frustration was the automatic light, which has a very short time period between coming on and then going off by itself and then struggling either whilst using the loo or in the shower waving like a max person to get it to come back on. It was very Moderna and a large lovely hot towel rail which is perfect for your towels after a dip in the hot tub. And then through back door you enter the secluded garden, a small area with a table and chairs, some nice chilled lighting and a amazing Hot tub, already set up and ready for you to jump straight in after a long day walking around the race track. We enjoyed it twice in the same night. The only thing I would say could be improved slightly in the garden the fencing around the outside of the to the rest of the complex could be a little higher to give total privacy and the stairs to what I assume is maybe a maintenance area goes straight into the garden so again abit more privacy or at least the knowing someone is-not going to poke there head around. but that’s it, the place is nearly perfect. I can’t-stress enough how much the Old Mill is such a hidden gem and I’m so glad I found it and we’ll be definitely be going back. Thank you.

Lovely accommodation in a beautiful, quiet spot. Individual rooms were very clean and comfortable. Ample parking. Great pub at the end of the lane, which was perfect for dinner, with live music on the Saturday evening (best to book) Owners (Andy & Zoe) were very hospitable.
