The Bellustar is a beautiful, new, sparkling hotel with big floor to ceiling windows and lovely decor. The atmosphere is serene and there are few rooms, so we had a quiet and pleasant stay. The room size and layout was comfortable. We used the concierge once and found she was very professional and assisted us perfectly. There is only one disadvantage: Even though there is a choice of the main course for breakfast, the side dishes and bread are exactly the same every day, which was a bit monotonous. However, if you order breakfast the evening before to be sent to your room, there is the option to have a Japanese breakfast. The building has its own airport limousine stop, and also a complimentary and serviced coffee/juice bar area on the ground floor which is handy when coming or going from the hotel.

Really friendly and clean hotel. Location is a bit off from main Tokyo station, but have shuttle running every 20 minutes. Would have been perfect if shuttle lasts a bit longer, as I felt that last shuttle is a bit early.

Please note: this review is for South Plaza Luxe King. I decided to upgrade to Luxe King (from Luxe Queen) at the hotel for my 2nd and 3rd night. (trip.com still has my original bookings in the system, so that’s why the room type is different than my review). I previously wrote a review about the Luxe Queen, and I thought that room was great, but, I wanted to see the difference, and as I said in the last review, I always prefer a separate shower. Extra benefits from upgrading… — Separate shower, which I usually try to get. — Wider bed. — More space inside the room, and more storage space. One thing that doesn’t change much is the view. Or at least I don’t think it’s a noticeable change. I think some Luxe Queens can also have the same view (as the Luxe King) depending on their location across the width of the building. The corner room just had a different angle, but views from both rooms were great. I admit that I did see Mount Fuji at one point when it got really clear in the afternoon (on one of the days), but in general, the views are the same from both rooms. Also, maybe it depends what view you want… government building vs urban sprawl. You get both views from both rooms, it’s just that the angle changes. Did I have to upgrade no? But I wanted to try it and see the difference for next time. I believe both the Luxe Queen and Luxe King are excellent, and paying more you really do get some extra benefits. However, the Luxe isn’t cheap to start with, so I guess it depends on your budget. I think the Luxe King room is excellent.

The hotel was simply amazing! The premier grand rooms are brand new and extremely comfortable. High quality toiletries and accessories kept in the bathroom and good provisions made in the room make a very comfortable stay. The breakfast at the executive lounge was wonderful. Complimentary tea in the afternoon and drinks the the evening were an amazing addition. The views from the lounge on the 45th floor add to the experience. The service is excellent and the location of the hotel all adds up to a fantastic stay!

We were looking forward to return to Hyatt Regency because we enjoyed our stay back in December 2019 but was surprised to learn that the complimentary shuttle bus service was discontinued. We end up walking from Shinjuku station to the hotel. Again, we were informed by the reception that the Japanese breakfast was not available anymore due to the effect of the pandemic. I wanted to take a swim the following morning before heading out and was surprised to learn that the swimming pool was also closed. I might not stay in this hotel anymore next time since several of the service and facilities that were there before were removed.

Lovely little hotel in an amazing location next to the shin okubo which gives you access to the green JY line. The hotel was great value and I used it to stay for the Tokyo marathon for which it is an amazing location. It’s 3 minutes on the train to the start station of Shin Juku. The rooms are very small, it being Tokyo. I had a twin room so could put my suit case on the spare bed. If I didn’t have that there wouldn’t have been anywhere to put a large case and clothes. All in all a lovely stay

I booked VIP room through Booking.com. My plan is not refundable, but The hotel's manager canceled my reservation　without any reason, without any explication and forced us to change for the other plan more expensive. I don't know why this hotel forced us extra fee for no reason , I guess they wanted to raise the price because of the lost due to Corona. I called so many times to kindly ask for them why he changed my non refundable reservation without my agree. And I spoke to the Manager in which he said: This is not my problem, I don't care if you had reserved a refundable plan to non refundable plan. The hotel has a right to modify the reservation's content. The hotel receptionist named nick Pyle , the hostel's manager who picked up the phone is too rude to even be at the hotel. Was so surprised to found such bad service at a hotel in japan. Eeven during the stay at hotel, this manager's attitude in a very rude way is unacceptable Hey, you ! the manager ! Do you treat your customers like that ??? Which kind of education you had ? Mr Manager that I spoke with was uncooperative and rude. When I asked for his name he said multiple times ”Why do you need my name?”, then eventually he told me that his name is Lee, or Nick or Pyle . When I asked to speak to someone else he told me that he is the only person available. I experienced so much anger and frustration, I will suggest never stay in this hotel. What a irresponsible person , The hotel's owner must think to place some one else well educated person as a manager. 月末で仕事が忙しくなるので予め数日宿泊するために予約をしました。ここのホテルの滞在は最悪の一言です。ホテルのマネージャーの対応が一番ひどい。他のサイトも含めて宿泊した方が残した悪いコメントをみてください、チェックインの時、何か相談する時、チェックアウトの時、請求書をお願いする時、すべての状況においてNick ? Pyle ?という人マネージャーが自ら対応するがその非常識な対応、責任者とは思えない対応が不愉快きまわりないです。Bookig.comでキャンセル不可のプランを予約したが、コロナで宿泊客が少なく売り上げが少ないせいなのか、予約不可のプランを勝手にホテル側がキャンセルしてきた。その上、代わりに別の料金の高いプランを強制してきた。余りに身勝手な事をしてきたので何度か電話をしたが、ここの責任者だという外国人マネージャーは電話が聞こえないふりをして切る。子供のような対応で呆れた、、彼の教育レベルの低さを感じました。その後、実際にチェックインする際は予約情報が見当たらずまたトラブル。そのトラブル対応をするのは先に述べた非常識、日本語も英語も片言のNickというオランダ人マネージャーが対応してきます。夜担当　の日本人スタッフの方は素晴らしい対応だったのに残念。本当にここのホテルはすすめません。施設は新しく綺麗でロケーションはいいが、近くに綺麗な同じような値段のカプセルホテルがあるのでそこをすすめます。最初に予約していた価格よりも高い額に勝手に変えられ、マネージャーという男にひどいサービス、対応をうけ、不快きわまりない。本当におすすめしません。予約していた料金よりも高い料金に勝手に変えるなんてありえないですよね？日本の常識、いや世界万国共通の常識というのが通じません。日本語も英語も片言で通じないし、本当にらちが明かない。

The hotel was close to the station (Seibu Shinjuku, Shinjuku Station). Although the surroundings are very crowded, however we can rest comfortably and not being disturbed with any loud sounds from the clubs. The staffs are very nice and understand our needs. The breakfast menu although simple but it tasted delicious especially the scrambled egg. Also the room was very spacious for 3. Definitely one of top picks for hotel in this area.

Des combinis (supérettes) tout autours, des petits restaurants, salles de jeux, Mc Donald. La chambre quadruple contenait deux lits doubles (et non ils n étaient pas trop petits), petite table avec tasses et bouilloire. Frigidaire et TV. Il nous fallait refermer les valises pour circuler mais la penderie et l étagère ont permis de sortir le nécessaire minimum. Rideaux occultants aux fenêtres, climatisation. Cabine salle de bain avec petite baignoire, sèche cheveux, savons visage, savon corps, savon mains, shampoing. Serviettes et peignoirs propres mis chaque jour lors du ménage. Au 6eme et dernier étage toute petite salle pour fumeurs, malheureusement manque d aération pour ceux qui viennent au distributeur de boissons, fontaine à eau ou au micro onde Personnel très sympathique, ils nous ont même remplis nos docs d expédition de valised en appelant le futur hôtel pour s assurer que l adresse était bonne. Nous y avons passé un bon séjour de 5nuits, minimum nécessaire pour nous qui n y étions que pour dormir.

Struttura un po' datata e arredo abbastanza spartano, ma camere enormi rispetto alla media nazionale. Bagno molto grosso, anche se i sanitari blu e lucidi si sporcavano solo a guardarli. Abbiamo molto apprezzato la presenza degli accappatoi che, se necessario, venivano cambiati tutti i giorni. Camera molto silenziosa, ma abbastanza buia considerato anche che le finestre sono oscurate, perciò non è possibile vedere fuori e filtra pochissima luce. Alla reception parlano un inglese molto elementare, ma non abbiamo mai avuto problemi di comprensione e lo staff è stato sempre gentilissimo. Posizione della struttura più che ottima: si trova in una vietta laterale, tra una fermata della Yamanote e quella di un'altra linea metro. Shinjuku è a circa 20 minuti a piedi e nel quartiere di Shinokubo sono presenti numerosi ristorantini, konbini e anche un Don Quijote. In conclusione: consigliatissimo per chi vuole spendere poco, non ha molte pretese e vuole essere in un'ottima posizione.

A reasonably priced hotel in Shinjuku about 15-20 minutes walk from the Shinjuku Train Station. You can get to this train station via the Narita Express on your way from or to the Narita airport. It is difficult to find the first time, basically use the East Exit and head North from the Shinjuku Train Station. You need to walk around the Cinema complex (use the West side as the East side is a tad more seedy at night). The staff were very helpful and polite. They helped with maps and suggestions of places/areas to visit. The twin room we had (Room 1004 on the 10th floor) had a view and the biggest shower/bath room that I have ever seen in Japan. The room had a bright neon pink sign ”Never ending journey” in the room on the wall for some reason (it can be turned off but just well...so Japan). The room was clean, modern and though relatively small was nice and comfortable. The hotel in general looked quite new. The hotel is close to the Shinjuku neon night life which has to be seen to be believed (walk back towards the station). So many bright neon signs and young people around enjoying themselves. The area of Shinjuku takes on a different life at night. You can walk to the Golden Gai area (full of small bars) which is apparently an attraction. We saw the area during the day when mostly everything was closed (there are lots of CCTV cameras and warnings about not fighting).

It was my first time in Japan for business/leisure, so I looked for a typical Japanese hotel, and I wasn't disappointed. The main strength of Matsunoi is its location, you are a walking distance away from Shinjuku, with two train stations about 5 minutes away. The hotel itself is excellent for the price, sure the rooms are small and not everybody is into futons but it was exactly what I was looking for. For the price I'm not sure you can get something equivalent in Tokyo. No wonder the place is always booked. Matsunoi will always have a very unique place in my heart as I discovered japanese toilets and a new kind of pleasure there.

This was one of the weirdest stays we've ever had. The ”hotel” doesn't have a check-in desk on site. You actually check in at ”Hotel Empire in Shinjuku” which is a few blocks away on a different street, which is not really made clear at all when booking. Also you have to give a ¥10,000 yen deposit at check-in, which is a first for me living in Japan. My wife checked in before me and said it was a really strange experience and that she felt unsafe in the area surrounding the hotel alone as a female at night. The hotel room itself is incredibly narrow and the walls are INCREDIBLY thin. There are doors between each room and the next, and there is a gap between those doors and the floor which is so wide that light shines through from other guests' ”apartments” and that I could hear the neighboring guest cough/clear his throat quite loudly even though he wasn't doing it all that loud. It sounded like he was in our room. Despite the room being narrow, it *is* long, so it doesn't feel super tiny. There was also a loft with another bed that we didn't climb up to because the note by the ladder made it seem like a dangerous liability that somehow the guest is responsible for rather than the hotel... As far as amentities go, however, you have a washing machine, a microwave, fridge, and a desktop PC that I guess is available to use, but we didn't turn it on. It was definitely a weird experience in general that I wouldn't repeat.
