TUI - Sea Breeze Beach House, Barbados. Day 1 - Sunday - Arrived at hotel, had to wait for room, booked into 219, garden view room. Not sure where the garden was, we had a tree in front of the balcony, therefore didn’t sit out. Reception staff are very laid back and sometimes felt like they don’t know what they are doing. We were shown to our room, given a very quick and brief mention of where everything was. It would have been good to have been given a map of the hotel and a sheet of times for restaurants, events etc at this time. As we unpacked we discovered that the Wardrobe doors did not move properly and I struggled to open them. We had been advised that we were booked into the bbq by the hotel for 8.30pm, lucky for us we went early at 7.30pm as we were told by other guests booked in at 8.30pm, that there was hardly any food left. We were not very impressed when we asked for the various meats, staff then reheated the already cooked meat, steak, chicken, pork ribs etc. The meat was not freshly cooked and we were concerned about food poisoning so did not eat the meat. We later found out that a father and son were both poorly after eating at the bbq and were advised they had food poisoning. Day 2 - Monday - First day having Breakfast, it was a very small room where food is available and quite a limited choice (compared to other hotels we have stayed in). We went to the morning briefing, held by Michael from Guest Services. This was quite informative, we were given a map of sea breeze and an information sheet of the hotel restaurants. We ate at the Mahogany as this was the only restaurant available for us to book into, Food was very poor and a very limited choice! Day 3 - Tuesday - Breakfast same food as the previous day. Today was the New Years Eve Gala. The food was good, band was good and fireworks excellent. Day 4 - Wednesday - Got up in middle of the night (4am), not feeling well and the toilet would not flush. As soon as we woke up, we contacted reception and asked if they could send maintenance asap, as we were not able to use the toilet. I was advised the maintenance team would be informed. We went for Breakfast, we had the same choice, nothing different offered. My Husband went up to the room mid morning to use the toilet, the toilet had not been repaired. He went to reception and was advised that someone would be up to sort it out. They went to the room and supposedly repaired it, after one flush, it stopped working again. He contacted reception again, they said they would send maintenance up again. He arrived late afternoon, whilst we were in the room and my husband held his telephone torch over the toilet, so that the maintenance *** could see what he was doing. He bodged it and said it’s now working. My Husband queried this and told the maintenance *** that the toilet needed a new part installing (husband does this for a living in the UK). The maintenance *** left the room, he said he would look into it and be back in the m
