One of the more stylish, chic and comfortable hotels I've stayed at. The bed is plush, gym is cool and breakfast is exquisite. I shall be back. The in-house bar is lively. I didn't dine in any of their restaurants and there are plenty of food options around the block. Definitely give Lumiere a try.

My family of 10 (we had 5 rooms) visited hotel Storchen in June 2023. Proper to the visit, I emailed with the concierge several times and am blown away by the service provided. The concierge helped me plan all of my activities and was able to reserve transportation for us months prior to our arrival. We took the train from Paris to Zurich and walked to the hotel from the train station (easy walk). Check-in was super efficient and simple. We received some drink coupons so we headed to the rooftop bar for cocktails and lunch. Everything was amazing. The food was delicious, the drinks were cold, and the service was friendly and quick. Breakfast was included as I booked through amex. I LOVED their breakfast. They had a continental buffet (including self-serve mimosas) and a menu to order hot items from. Everything was delicious and it was a great start to our day every day. I would definitely stay here again!

I have to start this review by saying thank you for all the lovely employee's all over Switzerland, that welcomed us with a smile and professionalism, we do appreciate it. Let's start with the hotel, we actually stayed the first night of our 3 nights in Zurich at another hotel, which we did not like, and decided to come to book the Mandarin, and we're glad we did, we even postponed our flight for one more night. Again, very welcoming staff, lovely rooms and suite's. Had a nice lunch at the restaurant. The location is superb.

A lovely location near restaurants and shops. The staff at this hotel were lovely and very helpful from the reception to housekeeping to the lady at breakfast. The rooms were well appointed and very clean. They had opening windows, air conditioning and a mini bar. They organised transport to the airport. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Great and easy check in. Watt and Derrick were very helpful with the check in and info about Zurich. Loved the complimentary drinks at check in. Compact room but very modern with cool amenities. Loved the big and soft towels. Found the hidden hair dryer in a cute pouch. Water pressure in the shower was just right. They also stored our luggage for an extra day. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back to this hotel.

It seems clear to me that the quality of customer service in travel has greatly deteriorated in the last three years. I understand that service providers have trouble finding and retaining people and the ones they have often don’t seem to take pride in their work. Sadly, I’ve come to accept this as the “new normal.” Which is why our recent three-night stay at the Park Hyatt in Zurich was such a welcome surprise. Not only was our room clean and comfortable but the service we received, from start to finish, was efficient and personal. Just a few examples: We had a flight delay and airport transfer difficulty arriving to Zurich and did not get to the hotel until after 1:00. The gentleman working the front desk who checked us in, got us waters, helped with our bags and personally escorted us to our rooms. He was also working the next night when we returned to the hotel after dinner. He spotted us coming through the lobby and literally ran over from the front desk, greeted us by name and asked if our room was acceptable and if there was anything he could do for us. The housekeeping staff are a bunch of ninjas. You never saw their carts in the hall but we’d leave in the morning and when we returned in the afternoon the room was made up. Perfectly. We’d leave for dinner and when we returned the room was turned down. Perfectly. We had drinks the first night at the Onyx Bar. When we returned the next night, the bartender remembered both our names and our drinks. We interacted on several occasions with the daytime concierge. I wish I remembered his name. It wasn’t just that he was knowledgeable about Zurich and responded immediately to our requests. He acted like speaking to us was the absolute highlight of his day. I know these are all little things but they added up to a wonderful stay. Plus, the hotel couldn’t be more conveniently located. Staying at the Park was a luxury item for us but, let’s face it, traveling anywhere in Switzerland is a luxury item. I would return to the Park for their level of personal service in a minute.

The hotel was quite strange. Upon arrival there was no staff and we had to do self check in. We were a group of 5 people with 3 rooms. We were let into the hotel via the intercom. The computer at the desk required a booking reference or QR code. Our hotel had been booked through a travel agent and we hadn’t been provided with either. So instead we had to manually input each persons details into the computer. This took absolutely ages! After travelling for quite a long time this was the last thing we wanted to spend time doing! The rooms were fairly compact, especially the bathroom. The hotel seems to have spent a lot of money on branded items in the rooms including a yoga matt and other random things - it would be better to have more staff in my opinion! The beds were very comfy though and an actual double bed instead of two singles pushed together. There was also a coffee machine in the room. Breakfast was very basic and seemed understaffed as a lot of things had run out. Again for check out there was no staff at the desk do we had to self check out via the emailed invoice - this didn’t work as we had to pay the city tax so I used the phone at the desk to do this. The location of the hotel is a bit out of the centre but is easily accessed (if you have luggage) using the number 7 tram at the main railway station otherwise it is walkable. Have given this 3 stars due to the lack of staff and it being so impersonal!

It’s not as though I planned to stay long in Zurich, and in fact, we only needed a hotel for the first night of a longer trip. The Alexander Guesthouse and Hotel was convenient, centrally located in the old town, and just a walk from the Zurich HB (hauptbahnhoff, or central station). The location is the first point towards 5/5. Next is the service. Upon arriving, carrying at least one bag too many, I left my partner at a bench, while I went to check in. As I checked in with the front desk, they sent a man to collect her. He carried our bags (from around the corner, and down a block), and with a friendly smile, and great welcome brought our duffels and packs inside. The service was welcoming, and as they informed me that they’d given me an “upgrade” I was pleased to find our corner room on an upper floor, with a pleasant view of the small plaza below. An Alnatura grocer is situated right next to the hotel, which is also convenient. The area around the hotel is a pied a marché, where there are many shops, restaurants, and, as is the only real problem with Zurich, smokers. But the hotel is a winner. Relatively inexpensive, well situated, and staffed with excellent people.

-Arrival - The driver transported us as closely as possible (to the hotel) as the front of the hotel is limited to pedestrians only. Rolling several pieces of luggage on a cobblestone street was a bit of a challenge. -Check-In - A lady greeted us professionally and kindly. As we had paid for the room in advance, she provided the room key, information about WiFi, details about the breakfast, and how to access the hotel using a code after certain hours. Upon seeing the amount of luggage we had, she asked if we would want to leave some suitcases we did not need in a storage area on the first floor. I inquired about possibly upgrading to a larger room, and she then insisted twice that I, not she, booked my original room on the Internet. This statement was conspicuous. I was not aware that I should have taken the measurements provided and compared those to the amount of luggage to make a more informed decision about whether I should have booked a business suite or in another category. The succinct message is that the rooms are SMALL. We had lots of luggage as Switzerland was out last stop on a self-planned tour of seven European nations. -Room - The room was clean and had a good view of the courtyard. The sheets, towels, and everything else were quite clean. We sought to increase our available space by putting our luggage on the shelves in the room. The room includes (at no additional charge) the drinks in the mini-bar. Any refills would have incurred fees. -Employee - A Dominican lady whose name was Fátima, I believe, was the consummate professional, kind, accommodating, and a very gracious individual!!! -Breakfast - On the third or fourth day, a lady in the kitchen with whom I had been conversing in English and German each day, unexpectedly and suddenly requested my room #. When I asked why, she was audibly and visibly bothered by my question. She saw my room key and never answered my question. I am still confused by this exchange after a few days or at any point. We have stayed at many hotels in various countries on multiple continents that provided breakfast, and no one has ever asked us for our room #. I cannot imagine that the # of rooms from which people eat possibly provides any reasonable data for the amount of food one needs to cook the following day. As we do not eat red meat, we were glad to see chicken sausage each morning. -Umbrellas - Again, we have found hotels in various countries to provide umbrellas for their guests when it is raining. Two ladies stated they have to record one's room #, making a note that you have one in case it ”disappears.” This statement was offensive, insulting, and lacking class to say the least. How can people afford to pay some $240-$250 (after the conversion from Swiss Francs, of course) for a room and feel the need to abscond with a cheap umbrella? I had a pleasant experience here. The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of Zurich.Lake Zurich and the Fraumünster Church are within walking distance. I had an early train to catch, The Zurich central station was just a short walk away from the hotel. The property itself is well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and accommodating but still there is a room for improvement. The room was comfortable. Room size is small but well occupied. They have lovely spread of breakfast. I do recommend this place for a short stay.

A great boutique hotel in old town Zurich. 6 minute walk from Zurich HB train station after our flight into Zurich. Front desk staff Sam was extremely helpful and very polite, spoke English very well. Very clean hotel completely updated and this location is AAA for restaurants and bars, and is also quiet for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was ample to start our day. Coffee was great and a good selection of meats, cheeses, cereal and juice. The chocolate fondue machine at the entrance was really neat!

Location was both good and not good. While very near Zurich HBF and shopping, my room on the third floor was very noisy till late due to the trams intersection right next to the hotel. There are quieter hotels nearby if you are a light sleeper like me.

Had a fantastic, albeit brief stay at the end of June 2023. Adler is centrally located in the historic heart of the city, but the double glazed windows block out any outside noise. I’m a super light sleeper, and we stayed on a Friday night, but didn’t hear a peep. That said: The room itself was tiny, but the view overlooking the square was charming. Very much a “what more do you need?” kind of vibe. The bed was very firm, and the pillows were very soft. For me, this is the opposite of my preference, but that’s personal, and I won’t fault the hotel. Elevator went out of order the morning of our departure, but they offered to carry our luggage down the stairs. This was definitely appreciated, as we were on the fourth floor. Also, I left my wedding ring on the nightstand, and upon realizing this, I called them: They offered to check, and called me back promptly to let me know they found it. No need to follow up, chase them down, bug them, etc. This was a great way to close the out transaction, and it left a very positive impression. I’d definitely stay again, thanks to the attitude of the staff.
