"The furniture is a bit dated and worn out but it has a million dollar view of Sakurajima. I had planned to stay only for one night on my way elsewhere but after seeing the view from my balcony, I immediately booked another night and the next day, the staff were very accommodating to allow me to stay in the same room without checking out and checking back in later. "Wonderful stay. Super delicious and wide spread of food for breakfast. The hotel has several restaurants and cafes that you do not need to venture out to eat. The souvenir shop is located beside Osen, do not miss it. Do step out of the area outside breakfast restaurant to see the full view of sakurajima, with sunrise view, though you may want to walk to the nearby lookout at the park. But I think the view from hotel is good. The bakery sells delicious bread, soft and fresh. Shuttle bus is available at both lobby, one near main entrance and one near the Italian restaurant at level one. There is a post box at the level one entrance too, you can send postcards there!"

"As we arrived late from another city, this hotel was the best option! Check-in was available until midnight. The airport bus dropped us right at the building where the hotel was located. Завтрак подавался в традиционном стиле, одинаковый для все в общей зоне для завтраков, но индивидуально накрывались столы для каждой комнаты. Номер достаточно просторный. Есть небольшой отсек рядом с панорамным окном, где располагаются столик и стулья. Вид из окна шикарный: на реку с красивейшего цвета водой. Недалеко от отеля есть отличный супермаркет ACoop. На 1 этаже отеля есть общая зона с микроволновкой для свободного пользования. Также есть вендинговый автомат с напитками, отдельно стоит кофемашина, есть аппарат для сушки обуви за небольшую дополнительную плату. Для тех, кто собирает печати: в этом отеле есть собственная печать, что нас удивило и очень порадовало. Находится печать на 1 этаже, сразу после поворота от ресепшена в сторону номеров справа. Место атмосферное, спокойное и комфортное."

"Recently stayed at JR Kyushu Hotel Kagoshima and really enjoyed the stay. The location is unbeatable, it is directly connected to Kagoshima-Chuo Station, with an entrance right after exiting the Shinkansen or local train gates. The room was surprisingly spacious. We could open two large suitcases, one medium, and two cabin bags at the same time and still have space to move around comfortably, which is quite rare for hotels in Japan. The hotel is also next to AMU Plaza Kagoshima, so there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. Overall, a very convenient hotel and a great choice for travelers visiting Kagoshima."

This was my first trip to Kagoshima, Kyushu, and your hotel's setting was absolutely stunning, offering distant views of Sakurajima volcano. The hot springs within the hotel also have excellent water quality, especially the open-air bath where you can gaze at Sakurajima. If the weather is good, you can even catch the sunrise around 5:30 AM, truly experiencing the majestic power of nature! The hotel's buffet breakfast lived up to its reputation and was definitely worth the price! Plus, there's a free shuttle bus service daily from Kagoshima-Chuo Station to the hotel. All in all, it's a high-quality hotel well worth staying at for anyone visiting Kagoshima.

The hotel was very clean and the hospitality was excellent. It was a shame that it rained heavily on our first day, but perhaps because of that, we were able to check in earlier than expected, which allowed us to relax comfortably. The complimentary ice cream and ramen were a pleasant surprise. The staff were all very attentive and polite, making for a truly enjoyable holiday. I would definitely love to visit again. Thank you!

This minshuku is located quite near Miyanoura port, the owners are super nice and they have a public bath that is perfect after a trekking day in Yakushima.

Richmond hotel was located opposite a big department store, with easy access to bus and trams. A combini is just opposite the hotel. They have a wider range of personal amenities to pick at the lobby. They have 3 machines to handle checkout, exchange currency (e.g. 1000¥ to 100¥ coins for laundry machines on 6th floor, or break 10,000¥ to smaller notes). The machines also accept your hotel parking charges. When it was raining, hotel provided full size umbrellas for use, without deposit or giving room numbers, which is very convenient. It has a car park with limited lots, so if you can secure one ,it will be very easy to unload and load your bags. Costs 2400¥ for 2 nights of parking. Main place for food is closer to Tenmonkan area, which is walkable.

Good points: - Right in front of the Ohara-machi bus stop. - A-Coop (supermarket up to 1900) is within walking distance, making shopping convenient. There's a shared microwave in the inn, so you can buy food at the supermarket and eat it there. There's also a refrigerator in the room. - There's a large public bath and a sauna. - Shiratani Unsuikyo is a 30-minute bus ride away. - The hotel staff are friendly. Not-so-good points: - The noise from the plumbing in a nearby room was surprisingly loud, making it difficult to sleep. - The rental equipment is not well maintained. The equipment itself is old. While it seems to be an established inn and shows its age in many ways, I think the location is excellent. It might be good to leverage its age and perhaps even specialize in mountain-related features. However, the facilities need to be maintained.

The standout of the entire trip was without a doubt the staff - Tana, Takumi, Hoshi. From check-in to check-out, every team member was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make my stay special. They went above and beyond with local recommendations and were always on hand with a smile. Breakfast is great with lots of choices on buffet. There is also all day lounge to get free drinks and nuts. The resort itself has real charm and a wonderful atmosphere, but it’s clear that the facilities are showing their age. Several areas would benefit significantly from renovation — from the rooms to the common areas, a refresh would bring the physical experience in line with the exceptional service and natural beauty surrounding it. That said, if you’re looking for a peaceful island escape with a welcoming team and breathtaking scenery, Pricia Resort still delivers. With some investment in the property, this could easily be one of the best resort experiences in southern Japan. It is advisable that you have a car as it is a bit far from the main road. Also, it would be better to avail the breakfast and dinner in the hotel due to hotel's location and there is no nearby convenience store from the hotel. Breakfast is a set meal and at the same time they have buffet style for the drinks, rice, etc. The room is spacious for 2 and the price for it is reasonable. The hotel staff are very approachable and some of them could speak/ understand English. They are also very accommodating to our requests. Overall, staying here in this hotel is worth the money.

This hotel's location is super convenient, right in the heart of the Tenmonkan area, with the tram stop directly in front. It's walking distance to the bustling downtown and plenty of restaurants, so exploring and dining out was a breeze. The hotel and rooms felt new and clean, making for a very comfortable stay. The artificial carbonated hot spring in the public bath was fantastic for soothing away travel fatigue. I especially enjoyed the breakfast on the top floor, with amazing views of Sakurajima while savoring dishes made with local ingredients. The staff were also very attentive and polite. Overall, I'd say this is a highly satisfying hotel.

I was very satisfied with this hotel. Right outside the hotel entrance, there's a large A-Coop supermarket that offers discounts in the evening. Across the street, you'll find Sukiya, FamilyMart, and a drugstore. The hotel also has a restaurant bar on the first floor. From my room, I had a fantastic, wide-open view of Sakurajima volcano! What's particularly great is the shuttle bus service that runs every half hour between Kagoshima-Chuo Station and the hotel – super convenient! A little tip: the shuttle pick-up point at Kagoshima-Chuo Station can be tricky to find. It's best to exit from the East Exit, cross the pedestrian bridge to the other side of the road, then enter through the ground floor entrance and walk through the lobby – you'll see the stop there. The hotel breakfast was also very good, though you might have to queue a bit during peak hours. The hotel staff also helped me call a taxi, and it only took about 10 minutes to get to the Tenmonkan area.
