This is actually Tsinghua! It's so beautiful it's almost unfair! It's no wonder it's so beautiful, it was built on the site of a royal garden. I looked it up and found out that Tsinghua University was named after the old site of Tsinghua Garden, which was founded in the late Qing Dynasty by the fifth son of Emperor Daoguang, Prince Dun Yishou. 📷📷📷📷 Its history can be traced back to the 32nd year of Emperor Qianlong's reign, when Xichun Garden was expanded and Guanchulou was built for wheat viewing. In the 7th year of Emperor Jiaqing's reign, the pond to the west of Guanchulou was expanded, which is now the Shuimu Tsinghua Pond. In the second year of Emperor Daoguang's reign, Xichun Garden was divided into two. The eastern half, where Shenggeng Villa and Guanchulou are located, was given to Emperor Daoguang's third brother, Prince Dun Miankai, as a reward for his residence. In the 18th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign, Miankai was punished and the reward garden was taken back. Miankai died of illness at the end of the year. In the 26th year of Emperor Daoguang's reign, Yishou was adopted by Miankai as his heir and was given this garden. Yishou was known as Little Fifth Master, so Tsinghua Garden was also known as "Little Fifth Master Garden" at that time. 📷📷📷📷 Because Tsinghua Garden is the farthest from the imperial road and is located in a remote area, it escaped the fate of being burned by the British and French allied forces when they burned the Old Summer Palace. During Emperor Tongzhi's reconstruction of the Old Summer Palace, because Yishou lived in Tsinghua Garden, it escaped the fate of being demolished for building materials to rebuild the Old Summer Palace, so it is still well preserved today. In the first year of Emperor Xuantong's reign, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Qing government transferred Tsinghua Garden from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to build the American Education Pavilion, which was the beginning of Tsinghua University. 📷📷📷📷 The two characters of Tsinghua are used as the name of the garden, indicating that the scenery is beautiful. Xie Hun's poem "Touring the West Pond" in the Jin Dynasty: "The birds gather when the sun is setting, and the water and wood are clear and beautiful." The "Song Book·Hidden Biography" also has "The rocks and gullies are leisurely and far away, and the water and rocks are clear and beautiful."
