Chaoyang Bird Fossil National Geopark

Gray-black thin micaceous mudstone interbedded with the same color shale. In the middle part, there are 2~3 layers of yellowish-gray silty calcareous mudstone, containing a large number of dinosaur, bird, Lycoptera davidi, and Pannesiidae fossils, with a thickness of 99cm, Apricot-yellow thin-layer silty mudstone, with a thickness of 3cm. Gray thin-layer argillaceous shale, containing more leaf amine fossils, with a layer thickness of 30.5cm, gray thin-layer marl, containing more phyllopod crustaceans and a small amount of Lycoptera davidi fossils, with a layer thickness of 48cm Reverse travel to Liaoning to dig fossils at Chaoyang Bird Fossil National Geopark Liaoning Province's Chaoyang City boasts the splendid Hongshan Culture, known as 'the place where the world's first flower bloomed, the place where the first bird took flight,' truly deserving the title of the capital of fossils. It possesses the world's most complete 'Jehol Biota'—a precious paleontological fossil resource, acclaimed as the 'World's Paleontological Fossil Treasury.' Chaoyang Bird Fossil National Geopark's primary geological features include paleontological fossils, fossil-bearing strata, and abundant geological structural phenomena (folds, faults, etc.). The park's Paleontological Fossil Museum is a comprehensive museum that integrates fossil exhibitions, fossil collections, and popularization of fossil and geological knowledge. The two major museum treasures, 'Liaoning Ancient Fruit' and 'Chinese Dragon Bird' fossils, are both housed here.
