Day 1: A Century of Elegance in Academia In the early morning, we arrived at the historic Sun Yat-sen University (South Campus). The campus, with its ancient buildings, dense shade, and winding paths, was mesmerizing. The kapok trees lining the main avenue were in full bloom, with red flowers adorning the green leaves, making the entire campus look like a painting. We made a special visit to Yixian Hall and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial to feel the profound cultural heritage and historical significance of this century-old institution. In the afternoon, we strolled to Haizhu Lake Park, where the gentle breeze by the lake and the playful waterfowl provided a relaxing respite for our tired bodies and minds. Day 2: Urban Prosperity and Traditional Charm On the second day, we navigated between the bustling city and traditional charm of Guangzhou. In the morning, we visited the Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, admiring the exquisite carvings and unique design of this Lingnan architecture. The wood carvings, brick carvings, and plaster sculptures inside the hall all showcased the craftsmanship of the artisans. In the afternoon, we headed to Shamian Island, strolling among the European-style buildings and quietly savoring the romantic atmosphere of the old times. With the sunset as a backdrop, Shamian exuded a serene and gentle ambiance, providing a perfect ending to our journey.
