Stepping into this historical site is like traveling through time. It was built during the Longqing and Wanli periods of the Ming Dynasty. Its Mongolian name means "chief" or "dharma seat," and its Chinese name is "Yanshou Temple." It is only a street away from Dazhao Temple, but it has a different tranquility and depth. The architectural style here is unique, a perfect blend of Mongolian, Tibetan, and Han cultures. The main hall is composed of a sutra hall and a Buddha hall. Although the Buddha hall was damaged in the past, the sutra hall still retains its ancient appearance. The nine-room wooden structure with a hip roof is covered with green glazed tiles, shining in the sun. The gilded decorations on the ridge, the flying dragons, and the auspicious deer are vivid. The Tibetan-style structure of the four walls is decorated with exquisite patterns made of blue and yellow glazed bricks, all of which tell of past glory. The bronze-gilt treasure vase, flying dragon, and auspicious deer in front of the hall complement the painted red door, like a beautiful painting, showing the beauty of art. The "Monument to the Victory over Galdan" made by Emperor Kangxi stands quietly in front of the main hall, witnessing the vicissitudes of history. On the right side of the temple, a white marble pagoda stands elegantly. It is the most exquisite Qing Dynasty stupa in Inner Mongolia, standing tall and pure under the blue sky. Even the pigeons outside the gate add vitality to this place. They walk and fly under the archway, occasionally cooing, as if telling the long history of Xilituzhao. Walking here, you can feel the tranquility and weight of this ancient site. It is a must-see place in Hohhot, where every corner hides the echoes of history, and every step seems to step into the past.
